CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY-NINE
HARLEY’S POV
I started pacing in the room, waiting for Ava, my guard had told me she sent people to kill El, even if I was against it, she felt El was a threat.
Soon I heard a knock at the door and my adrenaline increased, and I tried to control myself for any unnecessary outburst because it would require another miracle for me not to rip Ava’s head if El is confirmed dead.
“Come in,” I yelled impatiently, desperate to see Ava.
“Good day mam, your wedding dress is ready, do you want to test it?” A maid asked as she entered my room.
“No, I don’t, just leave it in Burke’s room, I will pick it up later,” I said, disappointed that it wasn’t Ava, although I tried not to show it.
“Okay ma, do you…”
“For fuck sake, I said I don’t, now leave me the hell alone,” I snapped at her pouring all my anger on her.
She looked surprised before leaving the room.
I was more concerned about El not being killed, after confirming that Catherine was my sister, I checked our family’s history from the witches at the coven, and I
confirmed that El is my grandmother.
I am not one with a soft heart but I just want to know what it is like to have a grandmother. I don’t care what it is like to have a sister though.
“The job is done, we need to celebrate,” Ava yelled, entering the room with two bottles of champagne and waving it in the air.
In different circumstances, I would have celebrated with Ava, but now that I have found out about El being my grandmother, I gave her a stern look.
She noticed my reluctance to celebrate and she rolled her eyes at me.
“Come on, El is the enemy here and not me,” she said, pouring champagne in two cups.
“She is my grandmother and I warned you not to kill her,” I yelled, and Ava scoffed at me like I just said some ridiculous thing.
“She is your grandmother, I get it but your grandmother is the enemy, how the fuck do you want me to let her live,” She retorted, drinking from the two cups, the selfish bitch had poured two cups of champagne for herself.
“She was my family, Ava, you killed my family,” I yelled, feeling emotional.
“Yes and so, I have killed almost all my family for this mission and you cannot sacrifice only one of your family that you didn’t grow up with?” she sneered at me, with her eyes filled with anger.
She indeed had to do a lot of killings in her family but that isn’t my fault, her family is the ones that are in power and if we don’t kill them we won’t get what we want, I’m not being selfish.
“Your family is the enemy, not mine,” I yelled back and Ava poured the glass of Champagne on me like I was nothing.
“Say that shit one more time and you will be in the dungeon, do you know how difficult it was to kill my father, I’m planning to kill Burke too, do you know how difficult that shit is? I grew up with my brother and I’m
Still planning to kill him for us and you didn’t grow up with yours, you can’t even sacrifice her,” She yelled and I gulped hard.
Ava was lucky to grow up with her family but I wasn’t. She is selfish by taking the only one that I have, and I want to take something she has always wished for, the throne of the Alpha.
“You have just poked the bear, but I want you to know one thing, you won’t get that throne,” I groaned at her and she burst into laughter, she laughed for minutes, leaving me in confusion.
“There is nothing you can do, I brought you back to Burke and I can take you away from him sweetheart,” She threatened but I wasn’t scared though, Burke is still getting married to me and he will get to love as we grow older, and we will grow older because I won’t allow Ava kill him, neither will I kill him.
“Are you sure about that? Because I’m going to be Luna soon, your Luna,” I reminded her, smiling at her.
“Don’t call for a battle between us, Harley, you know who would win right?” she asked, looking angry.
“The battle line was drawn when you killed, El, my grandmother,” I retorted and she shrugged.
“Then get the fuck out of my room, it was nice knowing you,” she sneered at me, without even rendering an apology.
“If you have apologized for going behind my back to kill, El, maybe, just maybe I would have forgiven you, but you are too proud and I regret doing any damn thing with you,” I spat out, in anger.
Ava scoffed again before speaking up.
“I would never apologize for who I am, or what I did, but I gave you an explanation, it wasn’t enough for you, so now get the fuck out of my room, don’t let me call the guards for you, or even throw you out myself,” she said, coming close to me.
My heart was heavy, I just picked an everlasting fight with someone who knew all the good and dirty parts of me, everyone even thinks we are best friends, we are even claiming to be best friends even if we don’t mean it.
“Look, Ava, we need…”
“Get out,” she said, cutting me shut and preventing me from making peace because she doesn’t like peace.
I looked at her one more time before leaving her room.
As I left her room, I tried to think of who would work alongside me, now that Ava and I are in a fight, I need an accomplice.
“Diago, I need to go to the dungeon to see him,” I said to myself, rushing my steps when suddenly I saw Catherine’s daughter in front of me.
“Leave me the fuck alone, ummmm…”
“Nikky, the name is Nikkt,” she said before I could remind her.
“I don’t give two shits about your name, just get out of my front,” I groaned at her impatiently, but she didn’t move an inch.
“I know El is dead,” she said, plainly, without smiling.
I shrugged at her, pretending not to know.
“What is my concern about that, get the fuck out of my presence,” I groaned again, but she didn’t still move an inch.
“Your grandmother is dead,” she stated and my eyes widened in surprise.
She knows about our family history and she might be a good accomplice.
“Do you want to talk?” I asked her and she smiled like she had read my mind.
“Why do you think I’m here?” she asked, smiling.
