CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FOUR
AVA’S POV
I smiled as I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling; it didn’t take too much effort to put Diago behind bars or the traitor that he is.
“I am going to make a fucking good Alpha,” I said out loud, giggling at myself.
“What the fuck did you just say?” I heard Burke’s voice, making me startled and I jumped out of bed.
“Fuck it, Burke, you startled me; I didn’t even know when you came in and without knocking,” I said, heaving a sigh of relief, holding my chest.
“I’m sorry for Starling you, but I heard something weird about you being Alpha,” He said, sitting at the edge of my bed.
I didn’t know what to tell him, because my brain was blank at the moment.
“I’m listening, why is it difficult for you to say?” He chucked, and I knew he wasn’t taking it seriously as it should be.
“I… I was just saying a word of prayer to the moon goddess for you, so the pack doesn’t have to worry about an incompetent Alpha,” I said, clearing my throat.
“Oh, that’s fine,” He said, shoving the discussion under the carpet, which was just luck on my side, like I always say, ‘I am Luck,”
“So what did you come to my room to do, handcuff me, and take me to jail because my blood brother doesn’t trust me,” I said, throwing tantrums because if I don’t talk about it, Burke is going to be suspicious.
“Look, Ava, I can explain, he…”
“Explain what Burke? Explain the fact that you don’t trust your sister, so you sent a rapist to watch over her shoulders like I’m some criminal,” I yelled, interrupting him and pretending to be hurt.
He swallowed hard, as he looked to the ground.
“I didn’t know he was a rapist, and I still feel like shit for doing that to you, Ava. You have to believe me,” He said apologetically, with hurt in his voice.
“Bullshit, how to wish you had trusted me a little; Diago won’t have found a way to do that to me,” I yelled again, enjoying the sadness in Burke’s eyes.
“It’s not Bullshit, Ava; he talked as if he knew you did bad stuff, I just wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I told him to get proof if he believed you were a fucking murderer,” He explained, looking devastated.
“What did he tell you, I did?” I asked, getting off my bed.
“He told me you poisoned Nikky, but I didn’t believe him; I promise you that,” He replied to my question; his eyes looked sad, and I didn’t give a shit about that.
“What’s going to be his punishment?” I asked, smiling at myself.
“I’m going to behead Diago on my wedding day; that’s the little I can do for you; I’m sorry, Ava,” Burke apologized, and that was the last thing he said to me before leaving my room.
“I think it’s time to see the traitor in the dungeon,” I said, laughing to myself.
I stripped off my clothes and ran to the bathroom naked to get a good bath. The thought of Daigo being stripped of all his titles made me turn on.
After bathing, I put on a red dress, packed my hair in a ponytail, and strolled out of my room to see Daigo, who was rotting in the dungeon.
Soon I was at the dungeon, which was a few meters away from Burke’s Mansion. I would have driven but walking made it more exciting.
“Good day, mam Ava, who are you here to see?” The dungeon keeper asked as I stepped into the dungeon.
“Daigo Specter,” I answered with a smile.
“Then I’ll take you there,” He offered, walking ahead of me.
Soon, we were at the place where they kept Diago; he was still wearing the underwear he had on the other day.
“Burke could be pretty at times,” I chuckled to myself.
Diago’s dungeon was covered with iron that could make him electrocuted if he touched it or tried to escape, so I had to wear a protective glove so I wouldn’t touch the iron.
“Are you here to mock you, you whore,” Diago, groaned at me with his eyes filled with anger.
“I’ll leave you alone, mam, but be careful. This prisoner has been aggressive since he got here,” The dungeon keeper said as he prepared to leave.
“I’m aggressive because I’m innocent,” He yelled again, and the dungeon’s keeper scoffed.
“That’s what all prisoners say, Diago Specter,” He groaned at Daigo, before returning his attention to me.
“As I said earlier, you have to be safe,” He said and I nodded at him before he left the dungeons.
“You are right, baby; I came to mock the shit out of you,” I said, laughing mockingly at Diagi, who had no choice but to hear my laughter.
“You most hate Burke,” I added, still laughing heartily.
“Burke is blinded by his love for his little sister and I don’t blame him because If it was me, I’d do the same, it is you I hate and I assure you, you aren’t going to get away with it,” He groaned at me, making me laugh harder, his threat meant nothing because he would be dead in two moons time.
“What are you going to do, Diago Specter? You have been stripped of your title and accused of rape without any room for trial, and not go forget, your days in the pack are limited; I’ll toast a wine of your burial ceremony,” I reminded him of his fate, and he swallowed hard.
“You won’t get away with this,” he repeated, with tears welling up in his eyes.
“Come on, Diago, are you dull? I have gotten away with it, you are dying soon,” I announced, as the feeling of triumph overwhelmed me.
“Something you aren’t expecting is coming, or rather, I would say someone you aren’t expecting is coming,” he said, gritting his teeth and sending shivers down my spine.
“Wh… what the fuck do you mean by that?” I asked, gulping hard.
“Catherine is coming back for you,” he whispered, smiling wickedly.
