CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND NINETEEN
CATHERINE’S POV
Daigo started walking towards us, and we sat inside the car doing nothing.
“What the fuck are we going to do?” I yelled, and Nikky didn’t give me a response; rather, she was murmuring some spells that probably would help us in this situation.
“He won’t harm us; just stay calm,” Nikky said after she had finished murmuring her spells. She was telling us to calm down, but her body was doing something different as she was fidgeting continuously, and her hands were shaking as she held the steering wheel firmly.
“You aren’t staying calm, Nikky, and you are telling us to be calm,” El stated, as fear filled her eyes.
“The man is holding a fucking gun, which he can and would fire at us and you are telling me to calm the fuck down?” I questioned, as I began to fidget too, the anger that this man might kill us when we were almost on the brink of taking revenge.
“Do you have a better idea?” Nikky retorted, as Diago was already looking at us through the windows; he had a mischievous smile on.
“Fuck, No,” I said, taking a deep breath and using my eyes to scan if there was any murder weapon around.
“Good, then let’s stick to the plan,” Nikky retorted, turning back to look at me, with her round big eyes looking directly at me.
“I thought you were casting a spell, why didn’t it work?” El questioned, as she was clearing her throat.
“God damn it, I just told you to keep calm; he won’t hurt us,” Nikky yelled, making me wear a frown, who taught her how to use swear words in my presence.
“Watch your words, young lady, you… ”
“Now it’s not the time,” El and Nikky yelled, simultaneously, interrupting me.
“Jeez, El are you in this with her?” I asked, surprised at their simultaneous response.
“Of course not, but we are in a fucking trouble, and pulling out your motherly attribute is not needed,” El said, and I became speechless.
Diago looked at us through the mirror, and he looked shocked when he saw me; he knocked at the window, indicating for Nikky to whine down, which she did.
“I thought my eyes were deceiving me, Catherine. How are you alive?” He asked as he rested his body on the window, pointing the gun at my head.
“Things are difficult to explain, I hope you know that?” I asked, gulping hard, trying my best to to show any atom of fear.
“Yeah, but I’m not here to exchange familiarities because I never knew you,”. He said, pulling the trigger.
“Neither did I; you can get on with it and blow my brains off,” I yelled, and he burst into a round of laughter.
“I’m not here to kill you, I’m here to kill El, the wicked witch,” He stated, shifting the gun to El’s head.
“Please, don’t kill her, you can’t kill her; I put her in this mess,” Nikky pleaded, and Diago threw the gun to the floor of the car, making us surprised.
“I’m not a murderer, Nikky; I just needed to scare you all a little because you guys looked frightened,” He announced with a smile.
“You work with Ava, so just tell us what you want, and let’s be done with this over familiarities as you called it,” I retorted, and he just smiled at me.
“I am working for Burke, not Ava; I suspected she was up to something and told Burke, he gave me permission to look into his sister, and that’s what I’m doing,” He said, countering my earlier statement.
I looked at him speechless, as he withdrew from the window, allowing us to drive away.
“Wait, if you don’t tell them that El is dead, they will continue coming for us, and we can’t allow that,” Nikky yelled, and Diago showed us one of El’s dresses covered with blood.
“How did you get my dress and who did you kill?” El asked, looking terrified.
“I killed a wolf, and I got your dress from the stuff you left in your house at the coven,” He yelled as Nikky geared the car back to life.
“Thank you, Diago,” Nikky yelled as we zoomed off.
“He isn’t the villain,” I said, surprised that he was able to fool Ava, of all people.
“He is smart; Mum and Dad picked the right man for this job,” Nikky chimed in, driving at a steady pace.
“Ava won’t know what hit her,” El added, smiling to herself.
“Tighten your seat belts, people; we are about to go into high speed,” Nikky yelled excitedly as she geared the car repeatedly.
I quickly wore my seatbelt although I was as swift as El.
“Don’t drive too fast, Nikky, we are on the express,” I yelled, as she began to increase the speed.
“I can’t hear you, Mum,” She yelled, still increasing the speed.
“I know you heard me, but I’ll say it again: don’t drive too fast; we are on express,” I yelled again, but she pretended not to hear me.
“Nikky don’t… ”
“Seat tight, mum,” She yelled, interrupting me and driving at optimum speed.
I closed my eyes throughout the ride until the car came to a stop, and my heart stopped beating fast because I was scared that Nikky might get us killed.
“Don’t ever drive that fast again,” I scolded Nikky, as I got out of the car, carrying my luggage of clothes with me.
“You are too scared, my; if we were going to die, I would have seen it; I’m a witch, don’t forget,” She said, chuckling, and I rolled my eyes at her.
I turned around to check out the building but all I saw was broken blocks everywhere on the floor.
“Why the fuck is the house, Nikky, we don’t have time for pranks,” I said, looking at the blocks on the floor.
“It’s not a prank, mum; the blinding is supposed to be here, but… ” Nikky couldn’t complete her statement, as she broke into a sob.
“But it has been demolished, and we are fucked,” El completed her statement, throwing the luggage on the floor and looking exhausted.
“We aren’t fucked; we can go back to the building earlier because Ava won’t think El is dead and won’t want to come back to check for us,” I remained, and Nikky rolled her eyes at me.
“Ava would want to make sure she’s dead and go back to the building to confirm, Mum. Diago came to ensure we leave there,” Nikky said, and I fell my luggage on the floor too.
“Well then, we are fucked,” I exclaimed.
