CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE
AVA’S POV
I pushed Catherine out of my room quickly, before Jaxon got out of the bathroom, I locked my door immediately.
“Are you gone mad? Do you know who my brother is? He’ll kill you without second fucking thoughts, Jaxon?” I half yelled at him, so that Catherine wouldn’t know what we were talking about.
Jaxon got out of the bathroom naked; he quickly grabbed a pair of jeans, pants, and a back shirt to put on.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t even know they were here till I heard their voices, what the hell did you do to her wedding dress?” Jaxon asked, taking a brush from my makeup table to brush his hair.
I hated the fact that Burke sided with Catherine; it had never happened before. Burke always took my side; that is the main reason: I can’t kill him by myself, and I need someone to do that.
“I tore the fucking dress; I didn’t like to see it,” I said, sitting at the edge of my bed.
Jaxon didn’t look so surprised; rather, he gave me a genuine smile as he sat beside me.
“I know Catherine is following me; she isn’t as smart as you all said; when she moves to her new house, we will strike,” I said, rubbing his chest, which was covered in his big black shirt.
“We need to meet with Harley today, and I think it’s getting late,” Jaxon said and he was right about that.
But I needed to make Burke on good terms with me; that’s how to plan a murder; with that, there would be no accusing finger-pointing in my direction.
“I have something to do before that,” I said, walking towards the exit door.
I didn’t wait for Jaxon’s reply before storming out of the room, in search of Burke.
“I know you are up to something bad,” I heard an unfamiliar voice say from behind me, and I turned around immediately only to see Catherine’s maid, looking at me angrily.
“Were you talking to me?” I asked, not certain a maid would disrespect me like that.
She laughed sarcastically, before walking closer to me.
“I am talking to you; I know what you have been up to from the day I set my eyes on you,” She groaned at me without any form of respect.
I was still in shock looking at this girl, when she opened her fangs at me.
“Fuck, you are a vampire,” I said, in shock, with my eyes opened wide.
“And a wolf, I’m an Hybrid, and I can see through you, do not act on any fucking plan you are thinking; I’ll outsmart you,” She said harshly before walking away.
Catherine had an Hybrid in this Mansion and no one knew about it??
I hastened my footsteps and got to Burke’s room, I knocked at his door, but there was no reply; rather, I heard moans and cracking of beds from where I stood.
“They have got to be kidding me,” I said to myself, knocking again; still, there was no reply, and the moans and cracking of the bed increased.
“Burke stops whatever you are doing, come out and talk to me, I’m your fucking kid sister, and it’s important. So get off that woman and attend to me,” I yelled from outside and soon Burke opened the door.
He was covered in sweat and was panting profusely. He wore a robe to cover his naked body as he came out of the room and locked the door.
“You look like fucking dirt,” I groaned at him, but he didn’t reply.
“Okay, I’m here to apologize; I’m sorry I tore her clothes. I don’t have the right to choose a woman for you, and I’ll respect her as your wife,” I said, and he looked at me tenderly, a smile came to his lips.
“That’s a relief because you got me thinking of how this house would be when we finally got married, I know Harley was your best friend and you thought she was good for me, but Harley is a bad person and I hated to break her heart too, I’m in love with Catherine,” He said, still smiling.
“Thank you for understanding that,” Burke thanked me. What he didn’t know was that I didn’t care about understanding their relationship; I just wanted to be Alpha.
“Burke, are hybrids allowed in our pack?” I asked, remembering Catherine’s maid. She is a threat to me and my plans, I needed her out.
“No, you can’t be a vampire and be in Crescent pack, this pack is only for wolves, and you know that,” He said, wondering why I was asking.
A smile came to my lips because I was about to kick Catherine’s maid without much effort.
“Then Catherine’s maid is an exemption, Burke. You put the pack’s life at stake because your woman wants an Hybrid for a fucking maid,” I whispered to him; he looked at me in shock, not wanting to believe what he had just heard.
“Susan is not an Hybrid Ava, she is a good maid and I gave her a I Catherine by myself,” he said, defending the so-called Susan.
“Then see for yourself, I’m not trying to cause any trouble but this girl threatened me and I think my life is at stake, something needs to be done about her, Vampires are not to be trusted,” I said and before I could speak again, Burke rushed into his room, I think I just cause another fight between them and that’s satisfying.
I got to my room and changed into a suitable outfit; Jaxon had already gone out through the window; he would be on his way to Harley’s house.
I wore leather pants and a shirt, packed my hair in a messy bun, didn’t apply makeup so I wouldn’t look extra, and wore a pair of black flip-flops with a purse hanging on my shoulders.
Soon, I was done dressing, and I got out of the room, heading towards my car, which was parked outside the mansion.
I got to where my car was packed and I saw Catherine resting on it.
“Have you gone mad? What are you doing here?” I asked angrily, pushing her off my car.
“Where are you heading to? It’s almost evening, ladies don’t walk at night,” She said, smiling.
“That’s none of your fucking business,” I groaned at her, but she continues smiling at me.
I rolled my eyes at her and opened my car door.
“You are heading to meet Harley, who lives on the outskirt of the pack,” She said, and I sat down frozen; how the fuck does she know that?
