CHAPTER SEVENTY
HARLEY’S POV
“Fuck,” I cursed under my breath, as I saw Catherine standing looking at me with surprise in her eyes.
I was entering their room to frame Catherine for theft; the punishment is banishment, and then when she is banished, we will probably kill her on her way to Chicago and kill her kids.
“What are you doing here Harley?” Catherine asked with a hushed tone, I wondered why she was whispering.
“Don’t tell anyone you saw me,” I command, thinking she is a scared brat, and would do as I say based on the story I heard about her.
“Are you fucking kidding me, you break into my room and tell me to keep shut about it, if you don’t tell me your reason for breaking into my room, in the next five minutes, I’ll ring the bell and call the guards,” She said, taking the bell that was placed on the edge of the bed.
“Fuck me, I forgot she was smart,” I said to myself rolling my eyes.
“You have two minutes,” She said, raising the bell higher, and it would ring if she raised it higher than that.
“I’ll talk please don’t ring the goddamn bell, you fucker,” I retorted, and she dropped the bell back beside the bed.
“Okay, I’m listening,” She said, after waiting for five minutes without a word from me.
“You are with my man, you didn’t expect me to sit around and watch him drool over you when I have been trying to win his heart for months,” I said, folding my hands under my breath as I leaned on one foot.
“You have done enough, Harley; you can’t have him. He is my mate, and he loves me like crazy, even if he gets stupid at times,” She said in a harsh tone. I had never seen Catherine angry before.
“You tried to kidnap my kids, you kidnapped me, and you even killed Jack, for fuck sake,” She said, almost yelling, and I stood there surprised; why the fuck does she think I killed Jack? It wasn’t even my idea.
“Why the fuck would I kill Jack? He did nothing to me; you just stand there and accuse everyone of murder like you are free from sins,” I retorted, ” I was involved in the death of Jack. I can’t take all the blame alone, we did it as a team.
“Ava told us all about it, how you blackmailed her; even if I leave Burke today, he won’t get married to you because you killed his best friend,” She said, looking at me sternly.
“Ava said that? What the hell? ” I exclaimed, surprised she was painting me like the demon when we are the fucking demon.
“Why do you look surprised?” Catherine asked, confused, stretching her right hand forward, making me see the exact mark that was in my right hand, too; only my family members have such a mark; why the fuck does Harley have it.
“Never mind,” I replied to her question, surprised she had the same mark as I did.
Before Catherine could speak up, we heard a knock on the door.
“Why did you lock the door, I checked the kids room and you weren’t there, so I assumed you would be here, please open up,” I heard Burke yelling from the other end, it looked like they fought, because Catherine rolled her eyes, in exhaustion when she heard his voice.
But that wasn’t my problem, if Burke sees me here, I’m a fucking good as dead, or I’ll probably rot in jail.
“Please don’t open the door; let me go first,” I pleaded with Catherine, and she didn’t look moved by my begging. I thought she was emotionally unstable and got moved when someone was begging, but it turned out I was wrong.
“I’ll let you, and not because I forgive, because I want to look into Jack’s murder very and get who your accomplice is, I know she was the one that killed Jack,” Catherine said, but it sounded more like a threat.
I didn’t want to argue with her, so I passed through the window out of the room, before Catherine opened the door.
I left Burke’s Mansion and went straight to the outskirts of the pack, where I lived with Mike and Sereca.
Soon, I was at the old house, which was made with dried leaves, and I hated living there, but I had no choice. I had lost almost everything, and I needed to get it back.
“She knows you are involved in the death of Jack,” I said to Ava, who was sitting at the corner of the old-looking house. She has been coming here more often than usual.
“Fuck, I told you she is way too fucking smart, did she call my name?” Ava asked and I shook my head in response.
“She only knows I’m not working alone, so you have to be very careful when you come here every day,” I warned, and she nodded in response.
“Hope you were able to put the stuff there,” She asked, taking a drag from the cigarette in her hand and passing it in my direction.
I took it from her and took a drag from the cigarette before passing it back to her.
“No, she caught me in action and allowed me to go, I don’t know why, she has a plan up her sleeves,” I said, and Ava hit her first on the wall aggressively, angry at the fact I could not frame Catherine, I was used to Ava getting angry like that, so I didn’t bother to calm her down.
“How the fuck are we going to bring her down, I hate Catherine,” She said angrily, taking a huge gulp from the wine on the table.
“That’s not the issue, Ava; the issue is that you have been calling Jack’s killer when we killed him together; how the fuck do you expect Burke to love me after seeing me as his best friend killer,” I said, and Ava wasn’t looking remorseful a bit.
“I didn’t tell them shit, they always thought it was you,” She said, taking another drag from the cigarette.
“Besides, someone has to be in the palace,” She said and that was true.
“There’s another problem,” I said, sitting on the old bed, making a disgusting sound to escape from it. I hate being here.
“What the fuck is it Harley?” Ava asked, surprised.
“I think Catherine’s is related to me by blood,” I said and her mouth fell open.
