Chapter 43

Book:The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate Published:2025-2-8

She grabbed the book and flung through the pages. The words were exactly as she had seen in her dream. She couldn’t help but wonder what exactly was going on.
“Who was that woman? She looked so familiar.” She thought within herself as she paced the cell room. What the woman told her about being a hybrid was a shocker to her.
“A battle which only I can stop?” She muttered and wondered the kind of powers she held that could make powerful enough to stop the battle from happening.
There was no doubt that the woman had a lot to say to her, the way she looked at her with all emotions made Sara wondered the relationship between them.
She sighed and closed the book. She sat on the bed and rested her head in her arms. She suddenly opened the book again, and her eyes caught hold of something.
“Spells to help discover your inner self.” She read out loud, and skipped to the contents. The spell required some silent meditation where she would cultivate her internal energy to the required level.
She folded her legs, and placed her arms on her laps as instructed by the book. It was also required that she place herself in a state of emptiness, whereby she eliminates all sort of thoughts from her mind at the moment.
“Amandus spiritus.” She whispered, and a white beam of light surrounded her, which later transposed to a snowy land, which was filled with multiple trees.
“Where am I? How did I get here?” She asked herself as she glanced at her surroundings. She wrapped her arms round her body as she shivered from the extreme cold.
She saw a long narrow path, and decided to take it, hoping to meet someone along the way. As she walked, she heard some sounds of horses neighing so loud as though they were on a battlefield. She quickened her pace until she suddenly arrived at a desert, filled with quicksand.
She heard a loud cry from above, she lifted her head to see where the cry came from but was met by a sprinkle of blood which stained her dress.
“Blood? Where exactly am I? You this woman, will you stop playing pranks on me?” She cried out loud, but the incessant cries of some souls persisted.
Suddenly, the book flew in front of her and opened itself to a certain page.
Sara glanced at the page, and muttered the bold word written on it.
“Dominus hybridus.” Something that looked like a screen appeared in front of her, and she could see some men screaming and fighting fiercely. It was a very fierce battle.
Thousands of men laid lifeless on the ground, while over hundred wriggled in pain.
The remaining men fought valiantly to keep their lives. Slowly, the screen began to fade and she found herself live on the battlefield.
“My Luna, why are you here? Why did you leave the prison? Hurry and take shelter.” One of the guards said, and she was surprised that they could see her.
“What happened? Where’s Killian?” Sara fidgeted as she asked the guard hurriedly.
“The red moon pack and the witches joined hands to destroy us. They want to…” The guard couldn’t finish his statement when he sighted one of the enemy’s soldier wield a spear at Sara, but the guard pushed her away and took the hit for her.
“No, look at me. You can’t die, look at me.” Sara cried.
The guard bled profusely, and struggled to catch his breath.
“My…Luna, hurry…and leave. This place is…dangerous.” The guard breathed his last, and his dear life was snatched from him.
Sara painfully held the guard’s head close to her chest and wailed loudly. Just as she immersed herself in pain, she heard a familiar voice call her name. She slowly raised her head to look at the person who turned out to be Killian. His white robe had turned red, and a deep cut was inflicted on his left arm.
“Sara, why are you here? Hurry and leave.” Killing uttered, and immediately slashed an enemy that aimed at him.
Sara looked at Killian’s wound bleeding profusely, she looked at the countless dead bodies lying lifeless on the ground, as well the unending cries from the wounded ones. She saw a sword lying next to her, but there was nothing that she could do, she could only watch the people she loved and care for die slowly.
“I said you should leave!” Killian roared once again.
“No! I will never run from my own battlefield. I am the Luna of the pack, I should protect my people.” She yelled back at him, and her eyes suddenly caught the sight of an object moving towards Killian.
“Killian, move!” She screamed, but it was too late.
A sharp sword thrusted deep into Killian’s heart, which made him go on his knees and groan in pain.
Zayne slowly appeared behind Killian with a mischievous laughter, he pushed Killian to the ground and stepped on his head.
“I said it, I will kill your mate, and make you mine.” Zayne said with a bitter laughter.
All of the members of the red moon pack cheered happily at their victory as Killian laid underneath their Alpha’s feet.
“Don’t you dare kill him, I will make you pay, I will make you regret your actions.” Sara yelled, but she suddenly heard a strange voice.
“What can you do? You are nothing but a weak Luna who can only watch her pack members die.” The voice echoed.
“Stop talking, stop itttt!” Sara screamed, but the voice continued with a roaring laughter.
“I won’t! This is what will happen if you don’t claim your witch side, and help the wolves, you can only watch your love die under the sword of his enemy. Watch carefully.” The voice added, and Zayne immediately grabbed two swords and inserted them right into Killian’s chest. He then made way for his soldiers who fired hundreds of arrows into Killian’s body.
“Killian!” Sara screamed, but was powerless to do anything. Killian groaned and slowly breathed his last.
Suddenly, the white beam of light appeared again, and she disappeared from the battlefield, and she was disconnected from the meditation.
She breathed heavily as she instantly opened her eyes, relieved that she was still in the cell room. Her cloth had soaked in her sweat. Recalling what she saw in the meditation, she made up her mind.
“No, I must save Killian.”
