Chapter 30

Book:The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate Published:2025-2-8

Sara wished her world could collapse as she realized that she had alerted the people. She immediately turned to run and didn’t forget to hold the herb tightly to her chest. Even though she was tired, the thought of Killian lying down in danger fueled her to run faster. The villains must not catch her as it wouldn’t be the end of only her, it could spell doom for Killian also.
The man and woman didn’t seem to relent also, as they chased her deep into the forest.
Everywhere was dark, and Sara couldn’t see the ground very well. She accidentally hit her leg on a tree branch, which made her twist her ankle, and she headed towards the floor.
As she was about to fall, a silver-streaked wolf suddenly appeared, grabbed her, and landed a fierce kick on the man pursuing her.
Sara looked at the wolf, it felt so warm and familiar, she was sure she had seen it somewhere before. She racked her brain as she watched the wolf attack the man pursuing her, then she remembered.
“Killian.” She yelled and ran towards him.
“Don’t, don’t use your power, it will only harm you.” She said to him, but he wouldn’t listen to her, as he was hell-bent on teaching the man a lesson
Clara noticed what had happened from afar and quietly hid herself.
After some minutes of beating, Killian finally left the man, who took to his heels.
He slowly turned to his human form, and Sara hugged him tightly.
“Let’s hurry to the doctor, I have gotten the herb.” She said in excitement while Killian smiled.
“Thank you, Sara,” Killian uttered while Sara shook her head.
“You’ve done way more than me,” Sara replied to him. She held Killian and wanted to walk out of the forest when she realized that she had twisted her ankle, and Killian was too weak to carry her. She wouldn’t even accept if he offered to carry her home.
“You are hurt?” Killian said as she noticed how she was limping.
“Oh, it’s fine. I just twisted my ankle, nothing much.” She said, trying to hide all the pain that came from her burning ankle underneath her smile.
“You twisted your ankle? It must hurt badly. Let me carry you home, we will have the doctor treat you when we get to the pack.” Killian offered and Sara refused immediately.
“No, you can’t.” As the duo argued, a bunch of guards approached them with a sedan chair. They had noticed the Alpha run out of the pack and had traced his scent down to the forbidden forest.
“We are here to help you out, my Alpha.” One of the guards said, and Killian smiled.
“Thank you.” He complimented them.
He gently climbed onto the chair, and Sara was helped up by the guards.
They headed towards the pack and they arrived at the clinic in no time.
“Here is the herb, doc. Please hurry and save my husband.” Sara hurriedly said as she handed over the herb to the doctor.
Killian looked at her and smiled. It was the first time he would hear her call him “her husband”.
“Wow! You did a great job.” The doctor collected the herb from her and headed towards a private space.
He concocted the herb into a liquid, which he gave Killian to drink, and placed the shaft on Sara’s ankle.
“It will help heal your ankle.” He said to Sara, who muttered a “thank you.”
He also took a part of the herb and used it to stitch Killian’s wound.
“By tomorrow morning, he would be fine.” The doctor had said before retiring into his private room.
Both Killian and Sara chatted happily, before sleep took the better of them, each one of them sleeping soundly in the other’s arms.

Jared was disturbed by the commotion that was happening outside. He climbed out of his bed and called one of the guards in his house.
“What’s happening outside?” Jared asked the guard.
“The chief guard has been assassinated.” The guard replied and Jared’s face opened wide.
“When did that happen?” He asked again.
“A few minutes ago, not up to an hour.” The guard replied.
Jared rested his hand on his hips and sighed. As he wondered who was behind all of the things happening in the pack, his eyes caught a hold of a swift movement into one of the windows in his house.
“Alright. You can leave now.” He dismissed the guard.
He went straight to the room that the person had entered, which happened to be his study.
He gently opened the door and crawled in so as not to alert the person inside. He tiptoed to the back of the person and caught her by the neck.
“Father, you are hurting me.” Lydia cried out and Jared instantly released his grip.
“Lydia! What are you doing here?” He asked he was shocked to see her in his study at that hour.
“I…I…” she muttered and couldn’t find a perfect word to answer her father with.
Jared rolled his eyes over her and saw her holding onto his metal pass. His eyes opened wide in shock as he noticed something on the pass.
“What are you doing with my pass? And…why is it stained with blood?” Lydia’s world collapsed as she flung her gaze to the pass.
He was right, the pass was indeed stained with blood.
