EVOLET
It’s still fine if this problem happened to me alone, but Derby?
I will not accept that at all!
When we were heading for the dining room, I noticed how troubled and scared Derby was. Even Trent looked angry in her arms, and it got Cadell and I wondering what the problem was.
They couldn’t speak at the dining yet until we got to the arena for our training, where there’s enough open space to stay in and talk. Then Derby told us what happened.
Someone came into her room last night!
And it was Allen!
“I was sleeping when I heard Trent hissing out. I had to turn over to know what it was. Only for me to see a man staring at me from the door!” Derby shared, shaking fearfully.
“The red glowing eyes… The height in the dark… I recognized the dark figure immediately.”
“That bastard!” I cursed, getting furious over this!
“If not for Trent, I don’t know what Alpha Allen would have done. Trent attacked him badly and that got him fleeing the room. If care wasn’t taken…” She squeezed Trent closely to ease her fear. “Kitty would have gone full werecat and revealed himself. I had to stop him, that’s why he’s angry,” she said, caressing Trent.
But the Alpha Cat didn’t want to stay calm. He was mad.
Who won’t be?
“I won’t spare him. I swear I’ll ruin him!” Trent vented out, almost gaining attention on us.
Derby pleaded with him to stay calm, reminding him of his bravery. “You protected me, Trent. I’m fine now.”
“Derby I… Goodness,” he sighed and carefully pulled himself up to bury his little face next to hers.
“I won’t allow anyone to harm you. I won’t leave your side.”
“I know,” Derby said sweetly, finally putting a smile on her face because of the way Trent passionately cuddled with her.
When I saw this, my heart sparked beautifully for this two.
Now it was finally clear to me.
My Kitty finally found what he has been looking for. He can see the light!
“Why didn’t the idiot step into Eve’s room when he came by? He knows I’m going to kill him,” Cadell groaned over this, also showing his hatred for the Alpha.
“Wait, he came over to your room?” Derby asked, looking stunned.
I explained what had occurred and how the Alpha drew back without opening the door.
“I bet he retreated when he remembered there’s a wolf in the room who hates him deeply. He must have assumed Kitty couldn’t do a thing.”
Just then, the damsels cheered out Allen’s name, making us turn to see the Alpha stepping into the arena with his Beta.
“Alpha, what happened to your face?”
“Oh my Goodness. Did something scratch you?”
The girls questioned when they saw the wound on his face. It’s already healing up, but not too fast.
“Wow, you went wild on him,” I uttered in amazement, turning to look at Trent.
He was back to his rage, giving out a growl.
Derby had to pacify him again while Cadell mocked, describing the marks on Allen’s face as a warning from Trent.
“I bet you did worse to him.”
“Oh, he ran away with a bloody face. His injury was worse than this tiny marks,” Trent responded to Cadell, glaring at Allen.
The Alpha, who was cooking up lies about his mark, spotted us at the corner, and gave out a smile.
It was obvious that the fool thinks we don’t know he’s the maniac outside our room, still we played along by returning the gesture.
I will get him back for this pervy crime.
The training began with a few steps shown to us by Allen. He even took this opportunity to rub himself with some damsels, claiming he was teaching them!
The girls were blind to see this, but not Derby and I.
“You two don’t need my aid. You’re pros on your own,” he had said when he came close to us.
His irritating smile made me wish I could puke on his face.
“Unless you want me to show you how…”
“GRRR!” Cadell interrupted, upsetting the Alpha.
He immediately drew away from me, and did the same for Derby when Trent snarled, making him shiver.
“What happened? Did you see a ghost?” I mocked.
Allen glanced at both guys and carefully walked away, telling us to keep up with the good work.
Yeah right.
Soon, Queen Chriselda came into the arena to watch the training. Her presence made the girls switch from silly to serious.
They wanted to impress their Luna with their skills, but it seems she had her eyes on one person mostly, and that’s me.
She kept monitoring my movement like a creep, forgetting that the arena is filled with lots of girls who want to be her son’s Luna.
Suddenly, “Son, why don’t you put them up for the test? Give them an opponent to fight with.”
Alpha Allen agreed to the idea and began pairing every damsel to their opponent. But when it came to my turn, Queen Chriselda intervened.
“Oh no no no, I think she doesn’t need one,” she said with a smile, walking up to me. “I have a much better opposition for you.”
“For me?” I lifted my brow, suspecting this plan of hers.
That’s when she called out a huge man into the arena, and said, “This is your opponent.”
“Huh?” The girls murmured, finding this idea weird.
Even Allen felt his mother was going too far with her arrangement. “Mother, you can’t give her a male opposition. It doesn’t make sense.”
“You are so silly, son. Have you forgotten who this wonderful damsel is? She’s Evolet!” She pointed out, smiling at me.
“If she can handle a Werecat and Vampire Queen, then I’m sure this man shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Waw,” I uttered at the Queen, grinning back at her.
Looking at everyone then at her, I asked, “Does this mean that you can see your son’s future bride in me?”
“What?” Queen Chriselda’s gaze went wide in surprise.
Did she forget to use her brain while coming up with this plan?
“I don’t know what to say, Luna. That means you have accepted me even before the end of the game. Thank you.” I joined my palms with a smile, appreciating her.
That immediately made Chriselda annoyed.
She sparked out, ordering me to stop saying nonsense. “I did no such thing, girl. What makes you think I’ll make you my son’s Luna when other damsels are here?!”
“Then why are you giving me this special training?” I fired back, leaving the Queen silent.
“If you don’t see me as your son’s future Luna, then why did you trouble yourself in bringing this man to fight me?” I pointed at the fellow, who looked puzzled.
He’s not from around here. Seems the Queen went to a different pack to search for someone tough enough to face me.
“Other maidens are here. Why didn’t you bring lots of men to test our strength? You brought only one to face me. Doesn’t that say you’re being unfair to the others?” I questioned, turning the table on her.
Due to her action, the girls began to feel the Queen didn’t value them one bit.
“That’s true. We also deserve a stronger opponent like Evolet.”
“I’ve fought with my fellow girls before. I also deserve someone way stronger than me?”
“Is she calling us weaklings?” They murmured, staring at Chriselda.
Oh, she didn’t look happy at all.
She fixed her gaze at me for some seconds and responded to my words, “I wasn’t done talking.” She beamed at the ladies, faking love for all of them. “You will all get a stronger opponent like him. I want to first see how tough you girls are. Evolet’s case is different. We have already seen her in action, that’s why I brought hers early.”
“This sounds confusing.”
“I still don’t get it.”
“What about Derby?” Someone voiced out from behind, increasing the tension. “We all saw how strong she was. Why didn’t you bring her a tough opponent?”
Beautiful question indeed! And I’m not the one who threw that bomb at the Luna.
She brought this on herself by thinking foolishly. Seems she’s losing her senses after my arrival. She wants to get rid of me. “Or am I wrong?” I suspected, noticing a strange aura coming from this man she brought.
Something isn’t right about this whole thing.
With all the damsels finding the Queen’s plan unjust, Allen intervened quickly.
“Oh, is that why you told the Beta to search for strong men from other packs this morning? I didn’t know that you were planning something special for everyone.”
Hearing him, the damsels mellowed their complains, slowly believing the Alpha.
“You only got one and you felt the girls should have a glimpse of their new training style by using Eve? I understand you, mother. That’s thoughtful of you.”
Now things were turning in her favor. The girls foolishly believed them, feeling they jumped into conclusion with the whole thing.
When Allen suggested that I fight the fellow brought in by the Queen, I refused.
“I won’t make my fellow girls feel left out on the action. I want us all to have our opponents present, so we can get down to work. That is fair, isn’t that right?”
The ladies agreed.
They can be dumb at times, but at least they are supporting me.
Having no choice, Allen agreed with this and ended the training. He took his angry mother out of the arena, requesting to have a talk with her.
Her huge guest followed from behind confusingly.
When he walked pass me, I picked a troubling energy coming from the stranger.
It gave the stench of evil.
Now I’m sure that the Queen wanted to do something to me.
.
“Are you ready?” I asked Cadell and Trent, who hid behind a pillar, watching the Queen shouting at three maids close to the stairs.
They nodded, waiting for my signal.
When she was about heading upstairs, I gave them the go ahead to move.
Cadell and Trent faked a cat and dog chase inside the mansion, gaining the attention of the maids and the Queen.
She saw them fighting and angrily called the guards to come and handle them. “I will kill these animals if their owners doesn’t control them!” she roared, keeping her distance from them.
Just as we planned, Trent ran up to Chriselda and scared the Queen. She screamed when he got on her, trying to escape Cadell.
Unknown to the Luna, who tried to throw Trent off her face, Kitty took her pendant off her neck and jumped off to flee her wrath.
Cadell followed, leaving the messy Queen in the care of the maids.
“My Queen!” They exclaimed out in fear, trying to see if she was okay.
Chriselda roared out furiously and stormed up the stairs, sending the maids to call the guards.
“I am tired of those creatures!”
Once she was out of sight, I fled back to my room to meet the guys and Derby. They were already laughing at the scene they caused, making fun of the Queen.
“Your plan worked, Eve,” Trent cheered, giving me a pat on the shoulder.
I smiled and suggested we neutralize the energy before the Queen comes to kick us out. “She is going crazy right now,” I chuckled.
On handing the pendant to Cadell, I saw his mood change from a smile to surprise.
“What happened?” I asked, hoping all was fine.
That’s when Cadell, who released his darkness to cover us all, pulled the wolf off my necklace lightly and revealed the truth.
The pendant didn’t glow like the last time I saw it!
“The energy is gone,” Cadell said angrily, tossing the pendant away.
“It’s been taken out already. That woman must have hidden it somewhere else.”
