QUEEN CHRISELDA
“Thelma!” I called, storming to her room.
When I got there, I met the door locked.
I thought she wasn’t inside but heard sounds coming from the within.
“Thelma, open up!” I banged harder, almost losing my patience. That’s when she answered, sluggishly opening up for me.
When our eyes met, Thelma asked coldly, “What?”
This woman! Nowadays she no longer shows me respect because of what I did. She has decided to take me as a nobody!
“I need your help, Thelma,” I said, stepping into her room without her invitation.
“This people want to run me mad in this pack.” I sat on her bed, trying to ease my pounding heart.
“I just had a meeting with our elders. They came to tell me about the people’s interest in making that disrespectful Omega my son’s Luna. They gave me two options, Thelma! They want me to either bring her and that friend of hers back into the game, or cancel the hunt and make her the Luna. But I don’t want any of the options! What can I do?!”
I felt my hands trembling. The thought of having that girl as my daughter in-law sounds like a nightmare.
“What do you think, Thelma?” I asked my sorceress, lifting my gaze at her.
Instead of getting support from Thelma, she rolled her eyes at me and said, “You are the Queen, so come up with a solution.”
“If I had one I wouldn’t be here! Come on Thelma, please help me!” I begged.
“I really need a way out of this. Even Allen has turned against me. The people feel he’s the one who kept Evolet out of the hunt because of his public humiliation. Please Thelma,” I pleaded with her, joining my hands together to show her my seriousness.
When she saw this… “Stop that!”
She yanked my hands apart and pulled me close for a comforting embrace. “Calm down, my Queen. Pull yourself together.”
I buried myself on Thelma, trying to do as she had said.
“Everything will be fine.”
“How?” I asked, lifting my head to look at her face. “Do you have a plan that can help keep that girl away from my home?”
“Well…” she sat next to me carefully. “You have only one thing to do, my Queen… And that’s to allow those girls into the hunt.”
“What?” I was stunned by her decision.
Didn’t she hear when I said I don’t want her around this place?
“I know you don’t like that idea, but you have no choice. Just take them in. As the game advances, we’ll find a way to finally omit her from the hunt and from the people’s heart. Just give the people what they want for now.”
Hearing Thelma’s advice, I decided to comply and do as she said.
“Trust me, my Queen,” she smiled, running her hand in my hair. “Everything will be fine.”
.
Since my Sorceress had given me her answer, I took my guards and went down to Evolet’s place.
It will be the first time I’m going to the house of that thug. But what choice do I have?
When I arrived at her place, I met Evolet with that wolf of hers, playing outside. Her friend sat there with that dirty cat in her hold, along with a woman.
“Who is she?” I asked, staring at the face of this person who watched Evolet and that dog jumping around.
She doesn’t look familiar nor have I seen her before.
“Could she be Evolet’s mother?” I wondered.
When my cars stopped right in front of their home, the three ladies dropped their attention on me, staring in surprise.
I got out of the car with my guards and approached them, fixing my gaze at the ones I came for.
“Queen Chriselda?” The two girls chorused, glancing at each other.
Having no time for her nonsense, I said, putting on a fake smile, “My sweet girls, I hope you can forgive me for what happened yesterday. I was in a terrible mood and felt frustrated when I saw you.”
“Hmm!” The woman uttered, widening her eyes at me.
Her reaction to my words made me question her. “Is there a problem?”
“I didn’t say anything, Luna. I only cleared my throat,” she said, pointing at it so I’d see.
“I see,” I squinted my gaze at her, resuming with my rehearsed speech, begging Evolet and her friend to come back to the mansion.
“You deserve to be among the others. I promise everything will be fine from now own. You have my word as the Queen of this pack,” I said, placing my hand on my chest.
Evolet glanced at the two next to her and said, “I don’t know if I can really trust your words, Luna. Your temper yesterday looked nothing like a terrible mood caused by someone else. Your rage came sparking out only when you saw me.”
Now she’s acting smart with me?
Goodness! I can’t believe I’m bringing myself this low just for her!
“No, child. I… I didn’t spark because of you. Honestly, I erupted at the wrong time. Do forgive me,” I lied again, almost placing my palms together to convince them.
Instead of these fools to stop me, they stared at my hands, waiting for me to join my palms completely!
Just imagine!
Giving in, I placed my hands together, and that’s when Evolet and her friend decided to think about it. “We’ll let you know, Luna. Thank you for coming,” Evolet said, squatting down to pet her wolf who came close to her.
I almost forgot that the beast was here as well. He had his eyes on me, like he wants to eat me up!
“If not for my people, I would have sent this animal back to the woods where he belongs. But he’s needed. He’s Evolet’s Wolf.”
Accepting their decision, I left that place and went back to the mansion.
And by evening, they gave their answer by stepping into my mansion like they own it.
“EVOLET! DERBY!” The other damsels cheered, welcoming them excitedly.
I watched this from above the stairs, raged about that Omega’s presence in my home.
“So what if she’s skillful? She’ll never become the next Luna!” I groaned, walking away.
“I want a maiden who will submit to me even after her bonding ceremony with my son. I want a damsel who will obey all my words! Evolet doesn’t have these qualities at all! She’s like a rogue!”
As I made my way to my room, I came to a stop when someone’s presence surprised me.
“Fiona?” I uttered, staring at my once favorite damsel, standing with Thelma!
She had a smile on her face while Thelma gave a troubling expression.
Seeing her with the sorceress, I assumed she came to beg us to bring her back into the picture as Allen’s true Luna.
But I was mistaking.
Taking both Thelma and Fiona into my chamber, Fiona showed me the most heart boiling video I’ve ever seen.
My Allen! He was being beaten up by one of those men that once humiliated him some time back!
“I had to take this to show you the truth, my Queen. Your son is still lusting over that girl, and that Omega stood aside, watching him get punch around,” Fiona shared, swaying her head.
My heart skipped when Allen got blown in the face and began spitting out blood!
So this is how he got injured?
That idiot hid the truth from me!
“Evolet doesn’t like the Alpha, yet she and her friend came to join the hunt. Why?” Fiona pointed that out.
“So what if the people said every other damsels except me should be present? She doesn’t like Allen! This animal beating up your son is her real lover and Allen knows that. But why is she taking part in the hunt?”
“This is the same man who challenged Alpha Allen the time he was accused of harassing that Omega,” Thelma pointed.
Hearing and seeing all these before me, I became annoyed.
“I know Allen doesn’t want me, but I still love him and the Royal home. It’s important for him to get back on the right track, my Queen,” Fiona said, bowing at me.
Pleased with her help, I pulled her closely for an embrace, petting her dearly.
“That’s why you’re my favorite. No one can take your place in my heart, Fiona,” I admitted, happy with her undying devotion towards me.
She’s my only perfect copy.
The true future Luna that will rule after me.
“You have done well, Fiona. For this…” I cupped her face. “I will make sure you get your rightful position in this pack. You are Allen’s real Luna.”
“Thank you, my Queen,” she smiled, hugging me.
Now I’m going to be extremely hard on that Omega.
As for her boyfriend and his friend, I will find them and make them pay for humiliating my son.
I made the mistake of allowing them off the hook that day, but this time they will pay!
