“Fancy seeing you again, Omega. How have you been?” Gamma Dave smiled, giving a light bow in the open, making passers by gawk at us, especially at me.
They might think he’s being respectful, but even an ant can tell that his bow and greetings are nothing but fake. I am not stupid.
“Gamma Dave, nice to see you again.”
“Are you sure, Evolet?” He questioned, lifting his brow in doubt. “Your face doesn’t rhyme with your words.”
“Same with yours, Gamma. The people around may think this is how Wolf Fall’s Gamma has been treating me in the Alpha’s home, whereas it’s the opposite,” I smirked, tilting my head to the side.
Hearing my take on his approach, Gamma Dave chuckled out like I have made a joke, rubbing his chin. “I won’t deny that, Evolet. We haven’t been on a good page from the start.”
“Oh Waw. What a surprise,” I rolled my eyes.
“But that’s in the past. Now you’re like the face of the pack. There’s no day I don’t hear about you, after the great heroic act you carried out that night,” he said, drawing closer to me.
“That was a long time,” I said, stepping back from him. There was this sudden discomfort I was getting from him. Like why is he engaging me in a conversation when we both know that we can’t stand each other?
I don’t like the feeling I’m getting.
Gamma Dave scoffed at my response, saying while drawing closer again, “You’re funny, Omega. How is it a long time? Okay fine, let’s say it happened a long time like you claim, but what about the current update?” He smirked, sliding both hands into his pocket. “That rumor is now the latest news in Wolf Fall. Omega being chased by the Alpha. They all think their Alpha is crazy about you.”
“Gamma, I believe you should be at the mansion preparing for tonight’s game, right? Why are you out here meddling in people’s life?” I questioned, lifting my brow in disgust. “As the Alpha’s third hand, you should be with the Alpha, not out here troubling my life.” I brought that up, so I could get on his nerves and send him away.
But it gave the Gamma more reasons to talk, annoying me by the minute.
“I’m not the only one that lives with the Royal family. There are servants that can handle the game’s preparation.”
“Good for you then. Well…” I held the little bag closely, dragging my feet back. “I am in a hurry now. It was nice to see you again, Gamma. Have a good day.”
Quickly, I turned around to leave, only to be startled by Gamma Dave, who appeared in my front with speed!
What is his problem now?!
“Why in a hurry, Evolet? We aren’t done talking.”
“Look, I have something important to attend to. I don’t have time for this,” I made it clear to him, but he wouldn’t budge.
Gamma Dave scoffed and said, stepping closer to me, “I’m sure this important work can wait.”
This was beginning to creep me out. The smile and troubling aura coming from him… “What do you want, Gamma Dave?” I questioned, glaring at him.
He gave out a creepy grin and responded, stretching his hand to my shoulder, “I just want us to talk. It’s nothing much. Just give me some of your time and…”
“Aren’t you satisfied with my absence at the mansion?!” I raised my voice, interrupting him while drifting away.
My action got most of the people gazing at us, wondering what was going on. And from Gamma Dave’s face expression, it was clear that my sudden outburst was beginning to provoke him.
That’s exactly what I want.
“You have never liked or wanted me in the Luna’s game. Instead of enjoying the peace you always wanted, you’re here troubling me! What is wrong with all of you in that mansion?!” I shouted, pointing at him.
“I don’t want to talk to you, Gamma. It’s best you head back and get ready for tonight’s game than meddling in my personal life. Good day.”
Grabbing my bag closely, I walked pass Gamma Dave, hoping to get home on time and forget I ever met with this annoying wolf. But all of a sudden, I felt my right arm being gripped hard from behind, forcing me to halt roughly.
No need to ask who the animal is, I already know it’s the Gamma.
In anger, I furiously turned over to give him a piece of my mind. “Get your hands off me or else I’ll…”
“Or else what?!” Gamma Dave groaned, flashing his eyes at me. “You’ll call your bodyguards to attack me like the way you did with my Alpha?” He smirked, still shimmering his wolf eyes at me. “Then fine. I’d love to meet your lovers.”
I gasped, feeling terrified of the Gamma’s action. The look in his eyes planted this kind of troubling vibe in my heart. Like his coming out here to the open was to find me!
“What happened, Omega? Can’t speak?” He mocked, squeezing my arm tightly. “I have you in my hold. It’s just like Alpha Allen when he tried to get you to come with him, but you refused. Then you called your boys on him. Now, aren’t you going to call your boys on me? Come on now. Summon them like the way you did with my Alpha!” He chuckled, squeezing harder.
“AHH!” I shrieked out in pain and felt this strong vibration in my body, that forced me to push Gamma’s Dave hand off me at once.
When I did this, Gamma Dave became mad. He flashed his eyes at me, ignoring the scared people around, matching towards me.
But before he could get close, Cadell, in his wolf form, dashed in-between us, growling at Gamma Dave!
His sudden appearance made the Gamma a bit startled, because he wasn’t expecting him to be around. His body shivered with his eyes falling on a furious Cadell.
My heart glowed on seeing my pervy wolf here. He came just in time to save me from this mad man’s trouble.
“Dog! I’m surprised you still have this pest around.”
“At least he’s better than you in a million ways,” I said, glaring at him.
What I said annoyed Gamma Dave. He wanted to take a step but shook when Cadell roared at him, shielding me. Despite the fact that he likes to insult Cadell, he was of afraid of him and couldn’t step closer.
He lingered his eyes around and noticed how everyone stared at him, gossiping over his action towards me. “What?! Why are you looking at me?!” he roared out, sending the people away in fear.
Gamma Dave puffed out in anger and faced mine and Cadell’s direction, planting a fake smile, saying, “Have a nice day, Omega.” Then he left.
What a scary dude! What was all that nonsense about? And why was he demanding for Trent and Cadell? Psycho! I bet he wants to fight with them to redeem Alpha Allen’s lost pride. I won’t change my take on the Royal family. They are all mad.
“Weirdo,” I groaned, massaging the area he grabbed roughly. That’s when I noticed Cadell’s eyes on me. He was looking worried.
With a smile, I asked, “How did you find me? Didn’t Mom see you leaving the house?” I asked, walking away with Cadell following from the side.
When we got to an area away from people’s gaze, Cadell shifted into his human form, taking hold of the arm Gamma Dave had squeezed. He gently stroke it, making me hiss at the slight pain I felt.
And when he heard my voice, Cadell stared at me with concern. He was unhappy.
I stared into his eyes with a smile on my face to show him I was fine, but he wasn’t buying it.
Dropping my arm carefully, Cadell said, “I’ll be back.”
“Where are you going?” I asked, suspecting his behavior.
He didn’t answer but tried to walk pass me. Quickly, I held him back, stopping him from going anywhere. “You are not going after him!”
“Evolet, don’t stop me! Look at what he did to you!”
“I know Cadell, but I don’t want you going after him, please,” I begged, holding his hand tightly, swaying my head. “Please, don’t go after him.”
He stared into my eyes, breathing heavily. But he finally calmed down, sighing out. “Fine, if that’s what you want.”
“Thank you,” I appreciated, lifting Cadell’s hand to my face, caressing it against my cheek. “You know you’re my sweet pervy wolf, right? That’s why you’re my adorable cute pet.”
Cadell’s lips curved into a smile, admiring my childish act. He chuckled and said to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, “This adorable pet can be violent when someone messes with his girl. But if she wants him to leave that ass crack, then so be it.”
He smirked, pulling me close while we walked.
I smiled, leaning closer to him, but my mind wasn’t at rest after what Gamma Dave did back there.
Why was he desperate to get Cadell and Trent’s attention?
His behavior felt off.
