ALLEN
“This is it, Alpha,” a guard said, handing over a piece of paper to me.
“Are you sure it’s correct?” I asked, slowly opening the paper while looking at the guard.
“I can assure you that it’s correct, Alpha. No mistakes,” He nodded.
Humming, I granted my guard the permission to leave my room while I gazed into this paper, which will bring me closer to my Queen.
It contains Evolet’s home address. The map to my future Luna.
“I must not delay any further. I have to go and see her,” I decided, grabbing my car key and phone.
“But wait,” I paused, looking at myself properly. “I can’t go empty handed. I won’t be meeting her alone, but her family as well. I’ll have to stop at the market and get them something. That’s the proper thing to do as an Alpha.” I smiled, visualizing their expressions when they see me.
With my mind set, I left my room hurrying down the staircase in speed. That’s when I spotted my mother and Dave coming out from the path at my left, talking.
I had to act like I didn’t see them and just walk away, but my mother… “Son, where are you off to?” she questioned, drawing closer with Dave.
I didn’t want to answer her, but I know if I don’t respond, she might just suspect my movement. The last thing I want is for her to stop me now. I need to see Eve.
“Um, I’m… I’m heading out.”
“Yes, I can see that, but to where?” She lifted her brow.
I should have seen that coming. “The general store. I… I thought I should get the damsels something, since Fiona made mention of you giving them the freedom to step out,” I said, using her favorite maiden against her.
Hearing Fiona’s name, Mom’s eyes twinkled. She smiled at me and asked, “Oh, are you getting them new attires?”
“Yes. I want to get that for them. At least, if they’ll be stepping out into the open, let the pack see that the Royal family are taking care of them. Isn’t that right, Dave?” I asked my Gamma, so he’d side with me.
“Yes, my Queen. That’s a great idea,” he supported, nodding.
And thanks to this idea of mine, my mother didn’t suspect a thing. She hummed and said, “I’m glad you’re doing something for the girls, son. But can you handle this work on your own? Why don’t you take Dave or your guards along?”
“There’s no need for…”
“You can use your phone to call the store instead of heading down there. The servants are here to do all the…”
“Don’t worry about it, Mother,” I interrupted her, so she wouldn’t hinder me from leaving. “I already called the store and told them I’m coming over to see the dresses they have. If I need any assistance, I’ll contact Dave to send them over, okay?”
“Well… That’s fine,” she said, crossing her arms. “I’m okay with it.”
“Thank you,” I appreciated, leaving the mansion before she’d call me back or suggest Dave to come with me. But this Alpha doesn’t need any bodyguard. I want to be alone.
“Great. Now I have to make a large order for the girls. I hate getting myself involved in their case. But I brought this on myself, so I have no choice,” I sighed, getting into my car and driving off.
After booking down the large order for the damsels, I called Dave to come over and get it, while I got the most important gifts for Eve and her family, heading for the address my guard had given to me.
After some minutes on the road, I carefully parked my car in front of a dull Grey house. The opened windows made it clear that the owners were around, causing my heart to race just thinking about Evolet.
“I’m finally here,” I muttered, stepping out of my car, approaching her home.
Knocking on the door, I heard the voice of a woman yelling out from inside, “HOLD ON!”
It doesn’t sound like Evolet. It must be her mother.
And as I suspected, the door came opened and before me stood a woman almost the same age as my mother’s, maybe younger than her, staring at me in shock.
From her face expression, I could tell she recognized me in a heartbeat. “Good day, Ma’am,” I greeted with a smile.
“Alpha Allen? Good… Good day to you,” she responded, bowing at me.
“Oh no, please don’t do that. There’s really no need for the formality,” I said, stopping her at once.
She lifted her head and said, trying to compose herself, “This is surprising. Please, come in. Um, let me help you with that.”
“Oh, no need. I’m fine. Thank you so much,” I appreciated, stepping into Evolet’s home with the gifts.
“Do forgive me, Alpha. My home isn’t as big as the mansion. But I hope you can bear with me and feel comfortable,” she said, inviting me into the living room.
“It’s fine. I really don’t mind,” I said, hovering my eyes around the place. It might not be big enough for a man of my status, but it still looks nice. But once I’ve made Evolet mine, I’ll give her family a bigger place to stay in.
“Please, have a seat,” she offered, pointing at the couch.
I sat on it comfortably and asked, still looking around, hoping to spot Evolet coming, “This is a lovely place. But is it big enough to contain the whole family?”
“Oh, it’s just me and my daughter,” she responded, sitting opposite.
“You and your daughter? Oh, I didn’t know. I assumed Evolet had a big family. I’m… I’m sorry,” I apologized.
“It’s fine, Alpha. I do appreciate your understanding,” she said sweetly to me.
I might have made a mistake in the number and got more gifts for Evolet’s home, still I don’t care. I’m sure she’ll love all these luxury.
“Um… I brought this for Evolet and your home. Sorry it’s much. I thought she had a large family,” I said, pointing at the gifts right next to me.
Evolet’s mother then responded while looking at the gift bags, “That’s so nice of you, Alpha. But may I know why you have come with all these gifts?”
Is she seriously asking me that question? Isn’t it obvious to her already?
I’ve been mentioning her daughter’s name since I stepped into the house. She should have noticed that by now.
Well, there’s no harm in speaking up.
Smiling, I answered, pointing at the bags, “It’s a little appreciation gift from me to you and your daughter.”
“Appreciation?” She asked, glancing at the bags then at me. I don’t know if it’s just my eyes or brain that’s seeing things, but did her smile just stiffened?
“I’m sorry, but what did she do?” She asked, speaking through her teeth and sounding like a dullard. She can’t tell me she’s that stupid. Gosh!
“The incident with the Werecat and the cubs she found. I was tied down with workload and couldn’t do this sooner, but now that I have the opportunity, I want to show my appreciation by giving her home these gifts,” I explained, pointing at the bags again.
But Evolet’s mother stared at the bags like her mind was elsewhere. She no longer had her smile but a plain expression.
What’s she thinking about?
Just then… “This is lovely Alpha Allen, but we can’t accept this. I’m sorry,” she said rejecting the gifts politely.
“The thanks from the people is enough for my daughter. Accepting gifts… We don’t do that.”
“Not even from the Royal home?” I asked, amused by her words.
Her lips curved to the side, saying, “My apologies, Alpha Allen. We can’t accept this.”
She can’t be serious. If it’s anyone else in her place, they would have grabbed the bags before I finish my statement. But this woman is different. Now I can see where Evolet got her attitude from.
“Don’t be offended, Alpha. That’s just the way we are,” she said, smiling.
But it’s not enough to calm me down. The gifts mean nothing to me. I’m here for Evolet.
From the time I stepped into her home, I haven’t heard Eve’s voice, except mine and her mother’s. “Seems she’s not around. Is she out with that man Fiona spoke about? That will explain her mother’s behavior. She must know this man her daughter is dating, that’s why she’s refusing my gift,” I reasoned, staring at the woman before me.
She maintained the smile on her face, saying nothing to me.
That’s when my frustration kicked in and I grabbed one of the bags meant for Eve and said, handing it to her mother, “I can understand Ma’am. But please, give her this gift. I really want her to have it.”
“Alpha, I can’t take…”
“I insist,” I interrupted, dropping it in her front without any delay.
Her face was filled with surprise at my sudden action. She didn’t stand against my request and nodded, agreeing to give Evolet the package.
“Thank you. I’ll take my leave,” I said, taking the other bags out with me and stepping into my car, driving off without looking at her mother’s face.
“She has no choice but to give it to her daughter. And when I return tomorrow, I’m sure Evolet would be around to speak to me. That way I can make her see reasons to my request. No one can refuse me. I am the Alpha.”
.
The following morning, I woke up all excited.
I’ve been thinking about Evolet to the point of imagining Fiona as my Omega Queen.
She came into my room last night and I told her I gave her mother some gifts to thank her for bringing Fiona into this world. The same gifts Eve’s mother rejected.
The reaction Fiona displayed looked exactly like the one I pictured in my mind, if Evolet was around yesterday to receive the packages herself. But placing Eve’s face on Fiona’s, I was able to take my fantasy to a whole new level.
Last night was wonderful. I played dirty with Fiona, who felt all those actions were meant for her. She was too blind to tell what was right or wrong.
But I don’t care.
Last night’s fire has built my desperation to see Evolet. I need to see her today, no matter what.
All set for the day, I left the mansion before my mother could spot me, and drove down to Evolet’s home. But on getting there… “Again?!” I uttered, almost raising my voice at her mother.
Evolet’s mother didn’t even invite me into her home like yesterday. She just stood at the door with her arms crossed and said, “She had something important to do.”
Important my foot! She must have gone out to see that man!
“What about the gift? Did you give it to her?” I asked, getting restless by the minute.
“Yes, she got your gift.”
“And her feedback? Did she leave any message for me?” I questioned.
All her mother did was shrug, saying, “Thank you, I think.”
“You think? That… She…” I stammered, getting frustrated.
In anger, I said to her, “I’ll be back this evening to check up on her. When she comes, tell her to wait for me.”
And just like that, I stormed off, getting into my car and zooming off from the compound.
“What kind of a home is this?! Both mother and daughter are playing a nasty game on me! I know what to do. Once I return and don’t see Evolet, I’ll take her mother back to the mansion and force her out of her hiding place. That’s what I will do.”
I was driving off recklessly, thinking of the punishment to give that Omega for treating me like nothing when out of the blue, I spotted my Queen standing close to a tree near the road!
My heart had skipped when I saw her, that I parked my car immediately and got out, rushing up to the beauty looking at the tree with her back against me.
“I hope I’m not hallucinating. It has to be Eve.” My heartbeat became fast as I approached her.
Drawing closer to the lady, I turned her over and met her beautiful gaze. She’s the one. I’m not wrong! “Evolet,” I called with a smile, feeling so happy.
“Alpha Allen?” she uttered my name, making a step back in shock. When I saw this, I immediately grabbed her hand and stopped her from walking away.
“Not this time.” I held on tightly, pulling her close.
“Allen! Let go off me!” she groaned, struggling with me.
“You called me by my name. It must sound sweet to pronounce, doesn’t it?” I smirked, taking my other hand to her face. But Evolet smacked it off, pulling her trapped her to her mouth for a bite.
When I saw this, I lost my focus and foolishly released her. That gave her the chance to dash off towards a building not too far from us.
“Evolet!” I called, chasing after her.
But before I could get closer to her, a man stepped out of the building, saving Evolet. “Trent!” she called this reddish brown hair fellow, hiding behind him.
Is he the man Fiona was talking about? It must be. But he doesn’t look like a member of this pack. Is he from one of the neighboring wolf packs close to us?
“Evolet, what’s wrong?” he asked, finally looking at me. His brow narrowed down, shielding Evolet away from my gaze.
He’s the one.
“Alpha Allen, greetings to you,” he said.
Oh, so he knows I’m the Alpha? Then this should be easy.
Pointing at Evolet, I ordered the fellow at once, “Can you step aside? I am here for the lady.”
“That I cannot do.”
“And why?” I asked, glaring at the fool.
“I’m sure her running away from you was a clear hint that she doesn’t want to be around you. I’m sure you’re smart, Alpha.”
“Are you calling me dumb?” My eyes widened at this bastard’s words. He’s really trying to act tough before me. He’s going to regret this.
“I won’t repeat myself. I said step aside. The lady is coming with me,” I said, stepping forward to put this latter in his place.
But before I could even close the gap between us, someone suddenly stepped in-between us, blocking my path.
When I took a closer look, I discovered it was a guy. He wore a black leather jacket with a brown hair, and… he was huge just like Evolet’s boyfriend behind him.
Who’s this jackass that stepped in my way?
“I’m sorry, who’s coming with you?” he questioned, facing me with his head tilting to the side with a cold stare.
The audacity! “Who the hell are you?”
“The man who’s going to change your name backwards if you lay a finger on my Evolet.” He smirked.
“Wait, your Evolet?” I was stunned, looking at both men then at Eve.
“What’s… What’s going on here?” I stammered, finding this confusing.
I thought Fiona said she had a boyfriend?
Are they two?!
