EVOLET
Finally, the day we’ve been waiting for was here. The arena was arranged wonderfully well by the servants of the Royal mansion, to welcome the guests.
The people were already showing up, even though the game was starting in one hour time. You can say they are here to get the best seats before the show begins.
Where I stood looking at the guests, I thought of my Mom and hoped she’d be present to watch tonight’s game. “That way I can apologize and make peace with her when I lose. I hope she can forgive me for disobeying her,” I sighed, wrapping my arms across my chest.
I soon felt a hand on my shoulder from behind. It was Derby’s.
She came to call me in for a brief meeting with the Queen and her son, Alpha Allen. “Come on, you don’t want to be absent,” she said, taking hold of my hand and leading the way.
I followed her until we arrived at the hall of the mansion where Queen Chriselda stood at the top of the staircase with Allen at the right, and the sorceress at her left hand side.
All the damsels had gathered, listening to the Queen talk about tonight’s game and what will go down. “You already know how this goes. Some of you will be eliminated and some will advance to the next stage. This round doesn’t need wolf transformation but your skills with sword. This is something that the future Luna, my son’s wife-to-be, must possess,” she shared, talking on and on.
I was getting tired of the talks when my eyes came locking with Alpha Allen. He was staring at me!
“Why is he looking at me?” I wondered, looking back to see if this pervert was really staring at my direction or someone else.
When I turned back, I saw two girls who were blushing directly at the Alpha. That confirmed it all. “Oh, he’s flirting with them in public. How repulsive.”
I rolled my eyes and did him a favor by shifting out of the way so he can have a good look at their body. But when I moved to a different spot, Allen’s eyes followed!
This was beginning to creep me out.
Why is he staring at me?
This made me uncomfortable. I had to take my eyes off him and rest my gaze on his mother, praying for her to end this meeting.
I didn’t even bother to check if Allen was looking at me or not. I just didn’t care.
Once the meeting was over, the Queen sent us to our rooms to get dressed in our wears for the game.
“Finally,” I had uttered, hurrying off with Derby and the others. I just can’t stand that man any more.
When I got to my room, I met Cadell holding my outfit, waiting for me. He had a smile on his face as he said, approaching me with the clothes in his hold, “You were given the purple attire. It fits your name, as well as Luna Violet’s.” He smirked, handing it over to me.
I didn’t know how to react to what he just said. I always felt upset when the Queen gives me this color to mock me, but hearing it from Cadell’s mouth made me… happy.
“Thanks,” I appreciated, smiling.
Cadell curved his lips to the side and said, “Everything will go well. Just do what I showed you and lose when it’s right. Then after that, I get to have my kiss. The same one you deprived me off for so long.”
I laughed, bumping Cadell on the chest. He immediately took hold of my hand and slowly planted a kiss on it, surprising me.
My whole body shivered when his lips brushed against my hand. It felt so warm and… beautiful.
“Don’t mind me, Eve. This is one of my ways of wishing someone good luck.”
“Oh. So… there are other ways?” I bit down on my lower lip, staring into his beautiful brown eyes.
Cadell smirked and responded, drawing closer, “Yeah, there are other ways. But you don’t need that. They are wild.”
“All can’t be wild. I bet there are two or three that are safe.”
“A peck to the hand is the only safest. The others… Not so,” he said.
His body almost closed the gap between us, and instead of moving back, I just stood there, waiting for his skin to touch mine.
I couldn’t explain why I was feeling this way, but I really wanted Cadell’s body to meet mine.
But he didn’t. He just stepped back and told me to get ready. “You don’t want the Queen sending her guards to drag you out,” he joked, jumping into bed.
“You… You’re crazy,” I chuckled, still feeling the heat all around while heading to the bathroom to change.
Really he’s crazy! Why didn’t he start acting pervy with me? It’s now that he remembers he has a brain when my body wanted a bit of him.
Stupid Pervy Big… Oh forget it.
.
Finally, the game had begun. The arena was filled with the people of Wolf Fall, all excited to watch how this battle would unfold.
I stood behind the other ladies with Derby, as the first damsels to battle went out to the middle, fighting.
The swords given to us where made of woods, but longer than the one we used during our practice. It’s good they didn’t give us real swords, otherwise some ladies will get killed.
“I hope you’re ready for this, Eve?” Derby asked, watching the match.
She was looking a bit scared but hid it, thinking I didn’t notice the fright all over her.
I didn’t bother to mention it but said, “Yeah, I am. And I’m sure you’ll do great out there.”
“You think so?” she asked, looking relieved a bit.
I nodded, pulling her in for a hug. I just felt like doing it, since I’ll be leaving soon and Derby might be left behind without me.
I just know that I’m going to miss her.
“Yeah, I believe in you,” I said, squeezing her close.
“Aww! Thank you, Evolet. I needed this. And I trust you will do wonderfully well,” she said, returning the embrace.
The moment is soon interrupted by the sound of the crowds cheering out loudly at the battle. It turns out that a winner had emerged, putting the loser down.
When I saw this, I gulped down my saliva, breathing in and out. “Don’t be scared, Eve. Just put on a few show and let your opponent win. It’s as simple as that, just like Cadell said,” I reminded myself, puffing out.
The match went on with winners and losers stepping out of each battle. Soon it was Derby’s turn against a blonde damsel. They went head to head, clashing their weapons at each other.
“You can do it, Derby!” I heard voices cheering out to her from the crowd. I bet that’s her family.
It didn’t take long for Derby to knock her opponent’s sword out of her hand, winning the match.
The crowds cheered out at her victory, including me. I was proud of her. She made it.
Derby rejoiced and ran up to me, embracing me tightly. “I made it! More free treatment. Then I’ll quit when I’m tired,” she whispered into my ear, causing me to laugh.
“You’re crazy. Still, congratulations,” I celebrated her.
Derby went to join the other winners, while the losers where sent out of the arena to pave way for the next sets.
Just when I was thinking about my turn… “You’re next, Omega,” Gamma Dave said, tossing a wooden sword at me.
This was overwhelming for me, but I had to swallow my fear and step out. But before I could reach the center, my eyes came wide when I saw who my opponent was.
“At last we get to face each other, Bestie.”
“Fiona?” I gasped, staring at the red dressed fighter emerging to the center.
