EVOLET
Despite their support for the Queen, the five damsels were still removed.
Sorceress Thelma didn’t hesitate to cast a spell that vanished the ladies into thin air. Probably sending them back home, maybe.
“You can all go inside. We meet again during dinner,” Queen Chriselda said, stealing a glance at me, before leaving with the sorceress.
All the maidens were heading back into the mansion. Derby came over to hug me, expressing her joy in my luck, while Fiona glared at me with detest, before leaving with the others.
“I thought you were going to leave me. I’m so glad that the Beta proved your innocence. You first us all to the mansion,” she cheered, embracing me tight.
I gave out a smile, tracing my gaze to the one that rescued me from the Queen’s wrath. I need to know why he defended me. It has to be Allen’s doing.
Seeing Beta Dean entering the mansion after the ladies, I excused myself from Derby and went after him.
I wanted to call out to him, but I didn’t want the others, especially Fiona, hearing my call. Who knows what she’d do when she sees me with the Beta.
When I was closer to him from behind, I finally voiced out, touching his back. “Beta Dean,” I called his name, and he turned around to answer me.
“Yes?” he responded, letting out a smile.
My face came flushing in embarrassment, unable to express my gratitude. With a smile, I bowed at the Beta, thanking him for his help. “You saved me. Thank you so much.”
“You don’t have to thank me, Evolet. It was important for me to do what was right,” he said, widening his grin.
What he said sounded like a puzzle to me. Is he indirectly talking about Alpha Allen?
Before I could ask if the Alpha sent him, Cadell showed up, ruining the moment with his clingliness. He caressed his body against my leg, whining out like a pup.
“I think he’s hungry. Do take care of him,” Beta Dean said, walking away.
“Wait, I need to…” I stopped halfway on seeing him entering a room without looking back.
I groaned over this, looking at the wolf standing next to me. He had stopped his childish behaviour, smiling at me instead.
“You did this on purpose, didn’t you?” I dimmed my eyes at Cadell.
He proudly turned around and began to walk through the path we came from, pleased with his successful plan.
“You Big head! Get back here!” I sparked, chasing him.
Cadell ran away from me, giving me no chance to catch up with him. I was already panting out and decided to head to my room and rest.
When I stepped inside my bedroom… “What took you so long?” I heard Cadell’s voice from behind.
In annoyance, I turned around and found him relaxing in my bed, beckoning me over to join him.
“Daddy has been waiting for you, sweetheart.” He opened his arms, smooching the air.
Raged, I took off my shoes and threw one at him. Before it could slam that face of his, Cadell vanished, turning the room dark.
I couldn’t tell where he was since I was in the dark. All I could do was swoosh the other leg of my shoe around, hoping to smack his ugly face!
“Pray I don’t get you, otherwise you’ll regret it!” I roared, spinning around.
As I swooshed from one corner to the other, a hand swapped my shoe out of my hand, pushing me down.
“AHH!” I yelled when I lost my balance, but fell into bed by luck.
“Where are you?!” I called, about to rise.
All of a sudden, a dark figure came at me, pinning me down in bed.
I was scared at first when this figure pounced at me from the dark, but when it shifted to Perv… “I’LL KILL YOU!” I roared, struggling to sink my teeth into his face.
Cadell took hold of my hands and began to smack my face with it!
“OUCH!” I cried out.
“Why are you beating yourself, Evolet? Stop beating yourself,” he laughed, still tormenting me.
Unable to fight back, I surrendered to Cadell’s strength, gasping out for air. “You… Are… Crazy.”
“That’s why you love me,” he said, pecking my cheek suddenly.
When he did this, I screamed, kicking my legs around to get him off! He immediately got off and vanished into the darkness, laughing.
I sat on the bed, rubbing the area he kissed. That’s when the darkness faded away and light came into the room at last.
I hovered my eyes around and found that Perv leaning in the corner, throwing air kisses, while I grumbled, still wiping his peck off my face.
“You ruined my chance! The Beta was my only ticket in meeting the Alpha! Gosh!” I fell back in bed, feeling overwhelmed with emotions.
“You saw what happened out there, Cadell. Beta Dean saved me from being removed from the hunt.”
“So?” Cadell scoffed.
His question sat me up immediately, with a glare fixed at his point. “So? What do you mean by so? This is the Beta we’re talking about. Alpha Allen’s right hand man!”
“Whatever?” he rolled his eyes, showing no care.
I don’t blame him for seeing the royal family as crap. They are after him, so yeah… it’s normal for him.
“What’s wrong if you get evicted? At least you won’t be within this walls like a prisoner, but with me. We’ll both leave this place together, exploring other packs like the lovebirds we are.”
“Will you stop that fake dream? There’s no we.”
“Oh, but you like to dream about that disgusting Alpha, who has nothing to offer.”
“Hey! Don’t talk about Allen like that!” I pointed at Cadell.
He didn’t care. He just crossed his arms and dared me. “Make me.”
“You!!” I groaned. But I didn’t give him what he wanted.
Calmly, I took my mind back to the Beta’s action and said, “It’s his doings. I’m sure Allen sent Beta Dean to save me.”
“Don’t be fooled by that old trick,” Cadell scoffed out. “Your Allen didn’t send that crook to do anything. Let’s just say someone’s body was just inching and he did what he felt like doing to set an opening.”
“I don’t get. What do you mean by that?” I asked confusingly.
Cadell then said, snapping his finger at me, “The Beta didn’t help you because of the Alpha. He did it to get something from you. Something… precious.”
He lingered his eyes on my body, giving me a hint on what he meant!
