REX’S POV
No doubt I looked like a doctor. A depressed doctor.
My head was covered in a blue hair net, I was wearing the same garment as Alaric while he went ahead telling others what to do. He must obviously feel like the boss.
Before, I was thinking that the people in the room would be busy looking at my mate’s vaginal but none was. They had their heads wrapped around what to do to help their Luna who would not stop squeezing my hand.
Damn! She was so strong.
I felt my bones break and heal but I never complained. Anything for my woman, anything at all.
I kept talking to her the whole time, trying to make sure I put that smile on her pale face.
She already had the blood and Alaric said she would take some time to be the way I want her.
Anyhow she wants to be, I would gladly accept her like that. I just want my mate to be alive for me and our baby.
“It’s time Luna” one of the nurse said to her.
She had this calm expression on her face but I could hear her heart beating fast and loud.
“Just take deep breaths and push when I ask you to push, okay?”
Rain nodded.
Her lips quivered as she looked at me, took those deep breaths and closed her eyes for a few seconds.
“lets do it! Just take this thing off me!!!” she snapped.
Ohh! This thing?
I forgive her. I don’t know how she was feeling and can tell labor can be anything evil.
My growled at Alaric as Rain gave a piercing scream.
“It’s okay, Alpha” Alaric told me immediately “She is doing fine”
The other nursa said the same thing to Rain as she caressed her other hand I wasn’t hold.
My body shook, my heart sank as Rain screamed again.
Tears filled my heart but I would not let the drop. I must get my mate safe.
‘You are going to be fine’ I killed her face as I mind linked her.
Rain glared at me for a few seconds before she screamed, growled, and groaned at the same time.
It went on for some minutes before one of the nurse smiled.
The heck!

Sound of a crying baby distracted me when I realized what happened. I didn’t know if I should lewve my mate ans get to the bay or stay with her.
Well, I stayed.
I let them bring the baby to us.
That teqrs I had being holding dropped on the baby as I watched my mate cry. She was happy.
“We did it, Mate” I told her “you did it”
The baby look so small, almost the size of my palm and I was scared not to drop him. Him?!
I thought the scan showed a baby girl?
No one seen to pay attention to the sex of the baby as they were all rejoicing. I was sure the whole of the pack knows that their Luna just gave them a baby boy.
“Are you still going to call him Ashina” Rain whispered in a mocking way.
I laughed.
She even knows how to hold her satire when in pain. More reason why I will never stop loving her.
I let her place the baby in between her breast and covered the baby with her hands. It felt like their were sharing heat, but for her, she was taking from the way baby.
Her body was still cold. Even when it has some colours, there was till this pale look.
My phone vibrated in my pocket and for some reason, I was shocked.
People barely call me.
My mindlink was open and Hawk would not call me by this time.
Still holding my mate, I brought out the phone to see the least person I never expected.
On seeing Alpha Kia’s name and contact, I immediately knew something was wrong. It could be that Raven had done something, or he wanted to warn me about danger getting to my pack.
I hesitated before picking the call.
“Alpha Kia” I said.
Their was silence.
Liie he was thinking of what to say or does he have no idea that I have picked the called.
I looked at mate who had this discomfort look on her face. Her gaze locked with mine, she tried to hide it with a smile but couldn’t.
“Hey?” I said impatiently this time.
Without waiting for him to say anything, I ended the call, took the baby away from her and handed the baby to someone in the room.
‘Hawk, come in with Mira’ I mind linked my beta.
I needed someone to trust with my babies and it was obvious I would not be able to look after Rain and the baby at once.
A nurse went out, yelling Alaric’s name as she ran.
With my gaze monitoring what the nurse with my baby would do to him and Rain now squeezing my arm, I stood up.
I left her side, went over to her open legs and the look of horror faced me. I saw it, something like a head! Another baby.
“ALARIC!! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!!!” I yelled.
I didn’t know what to do and I was scared that Rain might push the baby out.
Why will Alaric even be out?
Why did he leave with just two nurses who seem as confused as I was?
The one that went to call him s haven’t returned. Taking unnecessary time.
“Rain, look at me” I told her.
She wasn’t.
Her eyes were closed, her palms holding her knees tight as she groaned.
The head of the baby fully came out and without thinking, I held it.
I would never let my baby fall. Even the one with the nurse, I had my eyes on that one.
The door burst opened as Alaric, Mira, and Hawk came in together.
Mira immediately went to take the baby from the other nurse, wrapped the baby and stood beside Rain.
Hawk had the look of pure horror on his face. I have seen him soaked in blood, almost ripped in two, stabbed and in the middle of death. But I have never seen this face.
He looked like he would pass out at anytime and to prove it, he dashed out the door.
Alaric stood beside me, his shoulder bumping me as he urged me to moved aside.
He took over, urging mate to push and take deep breaths.
Before I knew what was happening, Rain had another baby in the midst of chaos.
Another baby.
“It’s a girl” Alaric said as he handed the baby to a nurse who immediately began to wrap the baby.
I went back to my mate, holding her and watch her close her eyes. She wasn’t dead, she wasn’t dying because I could feel her.
I let her rest.
“I owe you the world, baby” I whispered to her.
Rain opened one of her eyes.
She looked me for a while and closed it back without saying anything.
Did I mess up?
Hours had passed and things were better. My mate was sleeping, resting with the babies in the cot.
Mira was beside her the whole time, taking care of her and making sure she doesn’t lack anything.
Hawk had his eyes like a Hawk, watching everyone like there where suspects including Alaric. He would look at Alaric like they had beef before.
I did the same.
I was till mad a him for leaving when my mate wasn’t well. For having that suspicious look on his face and the way he kept looking over his shoulders like he was trying to hide something.
The nurses had left, taken up to a different clean and bigger room.
My people, I would not blame them.
Hawk told me that almost the whole of the pack here standing out, wanting to see their Luna and the Babies.
Some already had gifts, Some begging if they could be the Babies caregiver while some just stood eager with smiles and tears on their faces.
For me, I was just fulfilled.
I felt this joy in me that made me so tired and overwhelmed at the same time.
My mate is safe, my babies are safe and my people have a heir.
Soon, Hawk left the room with Mira and Alaric.
Since Alaric was the last to go out, he turned, look at me and paused.
“I am sorry” he paused foe a while as if thinking for the beck word “I am sorry for leaving”
Pffff.
I already forgot about it so I just nodded, gave him a faint smile and relax in the seat.
No need to punish anyone.
I have my Luna, Babies, and I have my life.
