ALPHA REX’S POV
I was certain about some stuff as I wasn’t certain about my fate with my mate by the time we finish this stuff.
She had calm down, long after she was struggling to breathe and it seem like she would die.
Her eyes popped open as she whispered my name over and over again. I panicked.
I never intended to let her do this shit! I just allowed her so she would claim that I was being too possessive and understand that I would let her do whatever she want as long as she would not want to get away from me.
I frowned as of perceived blood.
Sniffing and looking all around my mate and not finding any cuts, my heart collapsed into my stomach.
Did she lose the baby?
“Stop this shit” I snapped at Klaus and his father moman.
My gaze was all over Rain and I feared for my baby- I meant our baby.
“Stop this sh…” I paused when I looked sideways to see that it was Klaus’s woman that had been bleeding.
Her nose bleeds and something red slowly rolled out her open eyes. Despite the white color they shine, I don’t give a hoot.
I don’t care if his woman go blind, To fry her brain out.
“What’s wrong with her” Hawk asked from behind me.
I Shurgged.
We both stared at Klaus who was visibly panicking as she tapped her chin. First gentle then hard to the point that her face before to grow red.
“Mate! Mate!!” I yelled, shaking mine.
Rain’s body began to go limp, like she was slowly collapsing.
‘Mate follow my voice’ I mindlinked her.
“Ashina! Emma, do something!!! Babe! Babe!! Please stop it” Klaus tapped her “Stop this! I am begging you!!!”
Maybe he have a thing for face slapping because I remembered he did the same to Rain over some weeks ago.
I wasn’t concerned about his fear, his aggressive growls or the pain the in voice until my mate jerked. She eyes opened, she was looking blankly to Klaus’s and his woman as she continued jerking and gasping loudly.
“Emma! Fucking stop it and listen to me” He growled.
At first, I flinched.
I haven’t heard Klaus being to loud, sad, it vulnerable.
Worst, we were both about to lose our mate.
I tired telling Rain to calm down. I kept mind linking her as I did before but she kept struggling, like she was fighting her inner self.
“Make her stop, Klaus” I said to him.
He glared at me.
He looked at his sister, me, Hawk that standing with his fist out behind me and shake his head in disappointment.
Totally ignoring me, he went back to shaking and tapping Emma. His other hand searched her, and brought out a small bottle and paused as if contemplating what he would do.
Impatiently, I pushed his hand but he stiffen it. He growled at me and I growled back.
“Do something!”
“Does it look like I am fucking?” Klaus asked “I don’t know how to do all this witch stuff and …”
Before he finished talking, I pushed his hand so he poured what get was holding on Emma. I don’t care that I had no idea what that stuff was, I just wanted to save our mates and as if it worked, Rain gasped loud.
My attention was in her and I couldn’t help but smile like a gold fish. I engulfed Rain tightly, squeezing her like she would run away.
I heard her grunt, a small sound showing she could barely breathe or I was hurting her.
“Please don’t do this again” I kissed her forehead.
She didn’t respond, she just placed her face on my chest and closed her eyes. I could not tell if she passed out or fell asleep, I was relaxed that she was sti breathing.
Without caring about Klaus and his mate, I took Rain to our room and placed her on the bed.
I laid beside her, just staring at her wondering how she would be doing. I wondered how she must have felt when she woke up that day.
“Damn” I groaned as I placed both palms on my face.
Thinking about it alone seem fustrating.
The scared look on her face, when she woke up to find me and Brook staring at her.
It wasn’t my fault we were friends when we were kids, it wasn’t my fault he knocked her down, it wasn’t my fault that the moon goddess didn’t let me know that she would later be my mate so I could save her.
Sluggishly, I stood up and walked to my closet. I searched, ripped things apart and was restless till I found it.
Her necklace I had stolen from the woods.
That day I saw her, after I had killed the those men. Innocent Human’s that were only trying to explore. If Any of Brook’s men had found then, they would have still died. Brook might even made them into one of his crazy lab experiment.
“Their fate” I whispered as I walked to her with the necklace.
As she still lay peaceful, I wore it around and neck and lay her side. I hungrily sniffed her, taking as much of her scent as I could and smiled at the outcome.
It was almost like that day on the woods, when she smelt like she was claimed but this time, she really had being claimed. I felt to proud to have it that she had my scent, it was almost getting more than hers.
It was so satisfying that wherever she pass or went, they would all know that she belongs to me. They would all see my mark and know better.
‘What about you?’ Mox, my wolf asked.
I ignored him.
‘What about you, Rex! Who do you belong to?’ he asked a bit mean this time.
It’s was obvious that I belong to her. It was obvious that she is my Luna.
‘What will she talk about her mark on you?’
It was then I realized the game he was trying to place. To make me feel guilty for not doing something.
I know women, I know how they would want to feel so important and self centered sometimes.
Just like Olivia, I know what would happen if I give a woman all she wants. She would grow too used to it and decide to leave. Maybe then, the moon goddess would leave her with someone else like Oliva and Hawk.
If I let Rain make me and have equal effect and feelings towards me, I won’t be able to survive. I won’t be able to make some decisions without feeling guilty.
I would rather have it that she feel the spark alone. I would rather have her feel much of the love and by the time she would have given me three kids, leaving would not be an option.
Trying to get all of these issues off my mind, I closed my eyes and try to sleep with Rain’s scent but immediately I relaxed, a sharp knock came at the door.
I ignored.
Without getting up, I already know it was Hawk and he smelt so much like Olivia.
A bit triggered, I hesitated before getting up to open the door.
I mentally reminded myself that she was no longer my property. I reminded myself that she belongs to another man and he would fix her. I mentally reminded myself that she hated me because of my father’s shit and I already have a second chance.
Opening the door with a flat expression, i moved aside to let my beta in. His gaze was in Rain who was still laying on bed and then her neck.
“That’s hers, Klaus have how own necklace” I said as I walked to take a seat on the bed.
I pointed at the sofa in my room and looked away when he noticed the mess I have done.
“Are you alright, Alpha?”
I nodded.
Hawk nodded too but he obviously doesn’t look like he was alright. He brought out his phone from his pocket, operate it for a while and turned it me.
“The human device is not helping matters, Rex” Hawk said.
Yet, I didn’t get up.
Although I could barely see what was writing, I just didn’t have the zeal to know what it was so I asked.
“You want me to ban the use of human devices in my park?” I asked.
Hawk frowned.
He looked at the phone and back to my face. It was then he realizes that I couldn’t see what he was showing me.
“Rumors about our Luna’s brother and her will to follow him is circulating” Hawk uttered.
At first I was shocked but when I remember radio 1 of our park, I groaned.
“Mira?”
“I am afraid not, Alpha” Hawk said as he walked closer.
He looked at the bad and my face. It was like he wanted to seat on the bed but staying there would make him stay close to Rain he just stood in from of me.
He turned his phone to my face and signed.
“Don’t you think that Klaus is a problem already?” He asked.
I saw a post about Klaus expressing his gratitude of me protecting his sister for so long. He went ahead with his humble brag and talked about how he never expected to have his sister as his Luna.
“His Luna?” I questioned.
Hawk swiped pages on his phone and showed me another section.
“He submitted an application for him and his Mate, asking that we accepting into our park because he is stronger and his mate is a witch thar would protect us”
I scoffed.
Klaus do really know how to get to my nerves. That asshole know Rain would accept him and I would be on her bed side if I reject his offer.
‘put him on pending’ My wolf chipped in.
I nodded.
I mentally placed it at the very end of my mind that I would put it on pending and have no one talk about it. I could give the a baby shower, making them anticipate for the sex of my baby till I get something else to take over the pack’s gossip.
Something like Hawk ans his mates.
It was indeed awkward how he had a male and female mate.
With this happening for the first time in my pack, it would indeed make headlight and headlines.
“How about Olivia?” I blurted.
The look on Hawk’s face changed. He wasn’t expecting me to talk about it and worst, how it was strange to have it that you are mated to the rebellious and untrustworthy ex of your Alpha.
“I am sorry I shouldn’t have talked about it”
“It’s okay, Rex” Hawk said.
He stood up, head to the door and paused.
“I rejected her some minutes ago before coming here” he said in a hushed whisper “And she accepted my rejection”.
Should I be sorry for him?
Well, he doesn’t look as if he would be sorry for himself so I didn’t care to express my pity.
“Take the day off post. I want you to stay with Sean and maybe… maybe…”
“Work things out?” Hawk suggested.
I nodded.
He nodded too and left.
They should work things out.
