Two days! Two whole days and my mate had refused to see me. She would talk to Hawk, Mira, Sean, Alaric, Any other park members coming to see their Luna but she would not see me.
Although she was still not strong, I just wished she would talk to me.
Again, I had slept in the pack’s hospital. Waiting for her to just mind link me so I would come right over like her favorite errand boy. I would gladly kiss the floor under her feet’s to show her how sorry I was.
I would let her know that I was scared Klaus would take her away from me. I would show her that I care so much about her and I wanted her to remain with me for the rest of her life.
Klaus.
I haven’t seen that dude in two days.
Getting to Alaric’s office, I washed my face, mouth, and fixed my hair with my fingers. I mentally played how I wanted to talk to Rain when I would go see her but first, I need to talk to Alaric.
Just when I get as about losing it about him coming late to the office, he opened the door with the biggest smile on his face.
“You are late, and you are smiling” I stated.
Alaric just shurgged, walked pass me and smiled. I was sure he wanted me to perceive his scent and show my reaction.
“How is she doing?” I asked.
Alaric signed.
He arranged some few things off his table and placed a wide chart. It showed the wrong outline of different things jotted together.
“You trust me, Alpha” Alaric said “I have served, just like my father, and his, it’s like generation”
I frowned.
If Alaric need something, he can just say it rather than all this dramas. I took a seat in front of him, crossed my legs on his table and stared blankly into his eyes.
“Do you trust me?” He asked.
It was as of he needed me to assure him over something so I told him I did. Of I never trusted him, I won’t have entrusted my mate to him and the fact that he had seen her this morning seem odd.
“I know I what the Luna is” Alaric stated.
I signed.
News must have spread about why Klaus came around but Alaric knew about Rain for a while. He had treated her, gave me something to retrain her wolf when she would not stop biting and even suggested that her blood would heal us.
I wanted to tell him to piss off, to mind his business as the pack’s doctor but there was this glint in his eyes. That look that seem like he had other hidden things to tell me.
“I checked all about Lycans and Werewolf, Alpha” Alaric whispered “And trust me when I say Rain is different”
Different?
Klaus is her twin! How the hell would…. wait a minute, when she shifted. She was more like a werewolf than a Lycan.
I readjusted, moved my legs off the table and moved closer.
“A normal Lycan blood should be like this” his said while trying to out a tablet from his drawer.
Getting it out, be brought out two files, open it and began to show me diagrams of what I had no idea about.
“This is a humans’s DNA, werewolf own and A Lycan” He Said.
He seem to restless about what he was doing that I felt he might be under some but I still decided to listen.
“I got the Lycan DNA when Klaus arrived two days ago to see the difference and this…” He brought another file, opened it and gave it to me “That’s Rain’s DNA”
I was shocked.
Although I still don’t get why this one seem totally different but I was scared for my mate.
“This one looks like…”
“Like the three DNA put together” Alaric Interrupted.
Human? How?
“The day I say her, she smelt different” I said.
I remember, she had that smell like she was claimed and not claimed at the same time.
Alaric sray silent as I thought more about the strange things when I saw her. How she looked so pale, how she wasn’t healing and at some point healed as slow as a human.
“Brook made lots of Experiment with her,” I said with my fingers on my Lowe lip “For the werewolf, I heard Brook normally give her his blood. Like he normally inject his blood into he to make her heal fast.. does that mean he got part of himself in her?”
“I disagree”
That didn’t come from Alaric and I was sure I didn’t say it either. We both looked at the door to see Klaus walking towards us with three pieces of bananas.
He was doing done with the one he was eating and proced to peel another one.
“What are you doing here, Klaus?” I asked.
Klaus smiled.
He bowed slightly, acknowledging the fact that I was the Alpha and I appreciated that. It showed that he still had some respect for authority and not for privacy.
“I had no idea Ashina still Like Bananas” He said.
Calling her by her wolf vexed me and I thought about hitting him but I didn’t.
“Please leave us, Klaus” I said in a lazy tone “You have done so much already”
He ignored me.
He walked to Alaric, picked his DNA results and smiled
“This was what we all used to look like before she suddenly stopped taking bananas” He smiled.
Alaric and I growled at him, making him roll his eyes and took the seat beside me.
“Rain was the best of our kind before the attack years ago” he started.
He paused for a while to peel the last banana and bite it slowly. He chew it for more than required, making a mess with his gaze at me.
“You are disgusting.”
“Thank you, Alpha Rex” Klaus smiled “that’s is the best compliment ever”
This dude can be stupid and annoying but for my mate, I had to stay. I mindlinked Alaric to stay calm which he did.
“Where was I?” Klaus suddenly asked after finishing his bananas.
As no one answered him, he smiled and continue.
“History said we were the makers of Werewolves, when there was nothing but us, we saw humans from the cave” he started.
Although, it sounded more like a fairytale but I stay silent and listened.
“We realized the humans could not withstand some illness and cuts so they die faster than us, making us lose our mate so we improvised” He grinned “Alia, The moon goddess used to be our leader so she suggested we make them live longer for us”
Silence.
While I waited for Klaus to continue, I mentally create image of how the beginning was. I mentally thought about how the moon goddess looked like until Now.
“She showed us how to turn humans to Werewolf, having that, we lived in peace for generations until some Werewolves went rogue”
Klaus looked deep into my eyes, it was as if he was checking to see if I was rouge or would soon go rouge.
“They wanted to be Lycans and attempt to create their own Werewolves but failed which lead to the humans running to other part of the world. To take precautions, we banished all Werewolves, and lived only as Lycans for many centuries until Alpha Kehad Came”
I frowned.
My gaze moved to Alaric who knew what I had on mind and asked.
“Alpha Kia’s father?”
Klaus nodded.
He moved his hair off his face and looked at me.
“The werewolf had gone so wide and separated into different packs, breaking the unity we wanted for them”
Wow!
They wanted unity for us and yet banished us for the mistake of others?
“They came with witches, Vampires, and humans to hunt us and take our powers but failed when they realized our powers was in our DNA. Defeated, they came back but this time Kehad was dead so his son Kia lead the rouges”
Kia?
Damn?!
Could he be that evil?
No wonder his daughter wanted to kill him.
I moved my chair close to Klaus as I hoped he continud his story immediately which he did.
“They came with so many advance weapons while we had only Ourselves because Alia left some centuries back. They killed us, captured us and promise to wipe us but fate had a different way so he made Ashina went for Banana hunting near the river”
Banana hunting?
She isn’t a damn monkey?
Seemed like Klaus read my mind and smiled.
“She was jumping around the trees in the rain like a monkey, one accident and she slipped. She lost consciousness immediately and as a kid, I ran back to tell my mom what had happened but discovered the pack in rubbles”
This time, Klaus didn’t look like he was enjoying telling the story. His eyes turned red, showing he was obviously fighting against his feelings.
“My mom thought Ashina had died in the attack so she hid me in a well. Days later when I managed to come out, I found few bodies of my family’s and friends including that of my parents. I rushed to check on Ashina but never found her until you came looking for her”
So she got washed away?
Lost in the rain and … was that Why Jaxon (Brook’s dad) named her Rain?
Damn, the whole shit was confusing and what was more confusing was that we didn’t still get why my mate had that much DNA in her.
“While you were making your search about her, I was doing mine” Klaus said in a different lively and less angry mood.
He got up, took the human DNA result from me and flinged it.
“The incident and lack of training didn’t make Ashina know who she was so she never shifted. Brook wanted her to make it fast so he kept mixing her blood with human, Vampire, Werewolf, and his blood to make her shift”
Disgusted, I shivered.
I could not imagine what my mate would have gone through and how Klaus could know that and yet remain calm.
“He wanted to build his pack and army with his blood but you stopped him. Not until after you wreaked the little hope you mate had” he added as he eyed me.
I moved restlessly on my seat and avoided Alaric and Klaus’s gaze.
Silence mixed with raw tension filled the room.
“But she can still survive as a vampire” Alaric announced “Since The Luna is an original of her kind, we can train her as a vampire and…”
“… and feed on human’s blood?” I Interrupted.
Alaric and Klaus stared at me in disbelief.
“Do you have a choice or you rather have her suck you to death?” Klaus asked.
I gulped.
As much as I want my mate to suck me, I need to be alive to remain with her so…
“I don’t have a choice” I muttered.
