It was a confrontation between one man and a group. The air seemed to freeze. Not only the Apex, but also villagers like Leroy felt invisible pressure.
Darnell’s towering figure brought them not only a pleasing masculine charm but also a deep inner shock.
This was a real man!
The combat-ready Apex members saw Darnell suddenly shake his shoulder and retreated in panic. The vow they swore, to fight to the death for the honor of the gang, seemed to have slipped from their minds.
They stood dejectedly behind Nick and Callum. Nick couldn’t hold back and shouted, “Useless idiots.”
Darnell slightly curled his finger, and a hint of disdain finally appeared on his calm and frightening face.
The remaining members of the Apex tightened their formation, fear clearly visible on their faces.
Darnell was truly terrifying and domineering. Nearly two hundred skilled fighters had been brutally beaten down by him. What incredible power!
Just moments ago, they thought his claim of taking on three hundred men was pure bravado, but now, the joke was on them.
With just himself, he was facing hundreds of opponents. This was nothing short of a legend.
Luca swallowed several times, his expression turning serious from playful. Darnell’s prowess exceeded his imagination.
“Darnell, we can actually have a good talk.”
Luca took a deep breath and offered. “With your fighting skills, why be a security guard in an urban village? Why not join us at the Apex?”
He thought Darnell was hired by Noemi. “I’ll make you deputy leader. Sixty percent of Woodsea’s protection fees will be yours.”
Over forty million dollars, a huge temptation.
Luca tempted Darnell. “This way, it’s good for Woodsea, good for you, and good for the Apex.”
Darnell responded with mild sarcasm, “Luca, what’s the point of this offer now? Even if we negotiate, it will have to wait until I clean up this mess.”
Luca’s face changed slightly. “What else do you want to do?”
Darnell picked up a club. “The game isn’t over yet. We agreed on one versus three hundred. There are still dozens left. I need to wrap it up.”
Luca shouted, “Darnell!”
Darnell ignored him and walked towards Nick with the club. “Nick, I’ve spared you three times. Each time you begged for mercy, yet, each time you came back to cause trouble.”
“Today, let’s settle both old and new scores.”
Nick stiffened instantly upon hearing this. “What… what are you going to do? I’m the young master of the Apex!”
“I’ve already taken down your father. Who else do you expect to come to your rescue?”
Darnell smiled indifferently. For Nick and his kind, he had to deliver an unforgettable lesson and make them fear him. Otherwise, they would keep causing trouble.
He quickly reached Nick and his group. The Apex members roared and rushed forward but fell immediately after symbolic resistance. It was unclear if they truly fainted or pretended, but soon, only three remained standing.
Nick, Gisselle, and Callum. Darnell shook his club arrogantly at them.
“Last time I spared you two, making you think I was easy to bully.”
Darnell flicked away the blood from his fingers and smiled faintly. “This time, I’ll be more ruthless, so you’ll understand that your foolish attempt to seek revenge against me is the worst decision you’ve ever made.”
“Kid, don’t go too far.”
Before Gisselle could finish her line, Darnell backhanded her with the club, knocking her to the ground with a cold snort.
“If I didn’t have some skills, I’d be dead by now. And you say I’m going too far?”
Gisselle was filled with grief but had no choice but to endure the humiliation due to her lack of skill.
“I’ve already made enemies with the Apex. Since we’re enemies, why should I go easy on you?”
Bang!
As he finished speaking, Darnell kicked Gisselle towards Callum. Callum’s expression changed as he caught her.
Before he could steady himself, Darnell struck him on the head with the club. With a crack, the club broke into two pieces while Callum’s head bled.
Callum yelped in pain and retreated several meters while holding Gisselle.
Darnell seized this opportunity to leap forward and grab Nick.
Luca’s face changed as he shouted, “Darnell, you don’t have to be so ruthless! We can talk properly!”
Crack!
Without hesitation, Darnell twisted Nick’s wrist until it broke. A scream echoed as Nick jumped up. Darnell grabbed his other hand.
Another twist broke that hand too.
Witnessing this bloody scene sent chills through all the Apex members.
Even Luca’s mouth twitched in shock at Darnell’s ruthlessness. “Darnell!”
“The next time you see me, you’d better run far away. Also, stop causing trouble at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, or I’ll kill you.”
Darnell gave Nick a smile that instantly shattered his composure, causing him to nod frantically. Nick could feel the murderous intent radiating from Darnell, and he couldn’t help but tremble, tears streaming down his face.
“I won’t dare again. I won’t dare again, I swear I won’t!”
Nick truly felt fear for the first time seeing Darnell as a demon.
Bang!
Darnell kicked Nick away, then pointed the broken stick towards the Apex with a cold smile.
“Since things have reached this point today, I don’t mind offending the Apex thoroughly.”
“Garrett, have your men give the Apex ten lashes each to teach them a lesson.”
“Yes!”
Arthur, Vance, and the others responded in unison. At that moment, they wouldn’t hesitate to do even worse than ten lashes. They’d gladly take them out with a flurry of blows if necessary. Darnell’s charisma had completely captivated them.
When the Apex heard about the ten lashes, they didn’t react with anger. Instead, a flicker of gratitude appeared in their eyes. It was a far better fate than losing a hand.
Arthur and Vance stepped forward with their sticks, and a chorus of cries erupted as they rained blows down on the hundreds of the Apex members.
Bang!
Just then, the door was kicked open again, and a young man with a head full of white hair stepped in, his expression cold and his gaze indifferent. He clearly wasn’t someone to be trifled with.
As soon as he burst through the door, the white-haired youth charged in, not directly at Darnell, but straight toward Garrett, who was holding Luca hostage.
Arthur and Vance quickly moved to block his path, their axes crossed in defense.
The white-haired youth raised his right hand, and a blade flashed out, striking one of the axes.
With a clang, Arthur and Vance were forced back, groaning as they looked at the newcomer in pain.
The white-haired youth also paused, a trace of surprise crossing his face, seemingly taken aback by Arthur and Vance’s ability to halt his advance.
Seeing this, Nick shouted in delight, “Elliott, take them down and save my dad!”
“Let him go.”
The white-haired youth fixed his icy gaze on Garrett, his voice dripping with menace. He not only resembled a woman in appearance but also had hands that were even fairer and smoother than most women’s.
In his grip was a thirty-centimeter-long stiletto, dancing skillfully between his fingers. Its tip was as sharp as a needle, and the edges had all been honed to perfection.
Elliott seemed utterly unfazed, handling the knife with such finesse that it appeared to be nothing more than a harmless tool.
Garrett’s expression turned serious at the sight, though he still held Luca firmly in his grasp.
“Do you think your knife is quick?”
Before Garrett could respond, Darnell lazily stepped in front of Luca’s would-be savior, looking at the slender blade with a hint of disdain.
“It seems you’re quite proud of your knife skills.”
