OLIVIA
As Adrian drove us with his car, I kept reminiscing about the unfortunate incident that occurred in my office.
I knew for sure that Cyril was a jerk. I mean, he never loved me from the beginning.
What I don’t understand is how he suddenly developed such hatred for me despite how I strived to ensure that he regains his memory again.
To believe that he chose to dump my sorry ass shortly after regaining his memory.
To worsen it all, he went back to Rene just when I had successfully secured my marriage.
I had a feeling that it was going to turn out this way the moment I decided to seek help from Rene about Cyril’s loss of memory.
It was synonymous to entrust a bone in the hands of a dog. Surely, it’s going to chew it to powder form. Now I am regretting my actions.
I was engrossed in my thoughts and wasn’t aware that Adrian was speaking to me.
I did hear him call my name, but I ignored him. At that point, Cyril had taken over my thoughts and there was nothing I could do.
I try to forget about him and move on with my life. Unfortunately, it seemed difficult to accomplish.
How do I move on from Cyril, knowing that he owns the company? He’s definitely going to show up anytime soon to open the can of worms.
“Hey, were you speaking to me?
Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. I had my mind focused elsewhere.” I itched my hair.
“Was I speaking to you? Did you just ask me that question? I was literally having a lengthy conversation with you and you weren’t paying attention. I am pretty sure what you were saying must be significant to you.” Adrian disclosed. He was speaking for me, yet managed to stay focused on the road than me who wasn’t even doing anything significant. I couldn’t help but wonder how he managed to achieve that.
“Is it about Cyril?
I’ve told you to forget about him. We are going shopping. Take any negativity away from your heart,” Adrian advised me as though he were my father.
His voice was too soothing for me to overlook. If I hadn’t known him, I would have argued that he was a therapist. He kind of shined at that.
“I don’t wanna talk about it. Just take us shopping. Are we there yet?” Rudely, I answered Adrian.
Without pushing further, he stayed quiet and focused on the journey. He knew that I was pissed off already and decided not to push further.
It was something that Cyril won’t even dare to do even in a thousand years to come. He would rather chew stone than to see that happen.
Instantly, I became guilty of my actions towards Adrian. I felt that I shouldn’t have spoken to him in the manner I did.
Over the last couple of days, he’s been with me, trying to help out and the only way I could repay him was being rude and ungrateful.
I felt the need to stop the trip and apologize immediately. If not for anything, at least for the fact that Adrian has to abandon his business just to stick with me every step of the day. It’s an act that only a few men would do.
“Here we are now.
Let’s go have some fun,” Adrian voiced out in excitement as we pulled up in a massive building.
Glancing at the environment, I doubted if Adrian actually took us shopping or a different place.
“Where’s this place?”
I asked Adrian as he was about to step outside, forcing him to sit back inside the car.
Unlike Adrian who was making plans to leave, Kate had already stepped outside a long time ago. She happened to be the first to make a move.
I wanted to leave because I had a few things to discuss with Adrian which I wouldn’t want Kate to know about.
“You didn’t just ask me that question, did you?” Adrian responded with another question.
He looked sideways.
I could tell that he was still mad at me for how I treated him during the trip. This was my perfect opportunity to apologize to Adrian, and I was ready to make the best of the moment.
Looking outside, I discovered that Kate wasn’t looking in our direction. She was a few meters away from Adrian’s car.
So I said to myself, “This is the time you’ve been waiting for, Olivia. Don’t sleep on it. You may never get another opportunity like this again,”
Gradually, I swung my hands around Adrian’s shoulder. “I am sorry,”
I apologized in a faint tone. I ensured that voice was suiting enough to his hearing. I needed to prove to Adrian that I meant what I said.
He pulled my arms away. “What are you doing? Please take my hands away,”
He might have pulled me away, but he didn’t say it like he meant it. I didn’t see any seriousness in him nor did he give me a reason to be scared of him.
Resisting his refusal to speak to me, I took a bold step to kiss Adrian on the lips. N
At first, he pulled me away.
However, my resilience made the difference. Adrian couldn’t withstand my naughtiness anymore. He had no idea but to surrender to my command, and we ended up kissing for minutes.
I got so carried away by the moment. I wasn’t even bothered if we ended up having sex inside the car.
The moment I thought I was having the moment of my life, we heard someone knocking on the door or the car.
I’m quickly adjusting my dress to look outside. We found out it was Kate.
“How long have you been standing there watching us?” I stuttered. I could barely express myself.
“And who said I was watching you two?” She smiled and went away, only to return a few minutes after and told us. “Remember we have plans to go shopping. I am still waiting for you all. I can’t wait to look stunning again,”
