“It’s okay. She’s not leaving you.” I comforted him. “I just want you to stop taking those fucking drugs.”
“I’m gonna kill myself if anything happens to her. If anyone takes advantage of her, I will take her for myself. I don’t care if I burn the world down for her-”
He stopped.
“Aiden.” I called him, but he wasn’t responding. “Aiden.”
He fell asleep on my shoulder.
I let him down on his bed, took off his shoes, and covered him with a blanket. I searched around for the drugs. Opened his drawers and saw the package of drugs. I went to his bathroom and raised the toilet lid. Pulled out my claws and ripped the golden enormous package open and poured all the drugs on the toilet. I flushed everything off the scene.
“Damn it, Aiden.” my hands ruffled through my hair.
I dumped the nylon in the trashcan and left his bathroom. Glanced over at him once more and sat down on the bed beside him, watching him sleep. I don’t know if he is hearing me out or not, but I felt like speaking to someone.
My hands rubbed my face because there was no way in hell I was going to speak to myself and no one was listening.
I strolled to Aiden’s room again to check up on how he was doing after I left, but he wasn’t in bed or in his room. I rushed out of his room, following the trails of his scent. Was he sleepwalking again?
I traced his scent to the kitchen and found Aiden naked, cuddled up beside the fridge.
He was completely naked, and his hair nearly covered up his face. Because of what I saw before me, I got stunned at the sight and couldn’t believe what I just saw.
My heart irked a little.
Aiden’s sight made me a little emotional. I went to him and squatted beside him, watching how sleeping he was. I knew there was nothing I could do.
But why?
Why is he doing this to himself? I don’t get it. Why doesn’t he want to stop hurting himself? If anyone had seen him like this, I wondered what would have happened?
“Aiden.” I tapped his shoulder. “Hey, wake up.” I got up and rushed to his room to get a blanket. I wrapped it around him and carried him in my arms to his room and put them down on the bed.
“He is taking those drugs again, isn’t he?”
My heart skipped when I heard him speak about the drugs.
“Those drugs are addictive, you know.”
I didn’t want to look back.
“The last time I saw him outside. He lay down flat on his vomit and slept off.” He walked into the room. “Why do you think that is happening?”
“Zane.” I swallowed and heaved a deep sigh. “Just mind your fucking business, okay?”
“Mind my fucking business.” He chuckled with a scoff. “You think I don’t know the reason he’s doing this? He is afraid of losing Wendy. The moon festival is coming up, and he is freaking scared out of his wits about losing Wendy. Don’t you think that is fucking ridiculous?”
“Zane-” I clenched my fists.
“He’s gonna lose her, Lykan, and you know it. Stop giving him false hope and let him face reality.”
I glared at him. “SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
I wasn’t the best son, an Alpha, to my father. In fact, I was the worst. The rebellious one who obeys no one but himself.
“Are you crying here right now?”
My head raises up at the sight of Kellan standing at my left side. I was sitting down on the floor with my back on its white wall. My dark pants, black boots and a black singlet over it and a large dark blue overcoat over my shoulders. The front of my slightly curly hair was almost covering my face. I just couldn’t get past my emotions. I sighed, cleaned off my tears, and looked away from Kellan, who crossed his arms over his shoulders.
“Leave me the fuck alone.” I muttered and pushed my knees to my chest and rested my forehead over my knees.
“Aiden wouldn’t be happy seeing you like this.”
“I want to get the fuck out of here.” I murmured. “Don’t want to stay here anymore.”
“Why?” Kellan asked.
“I get sick whenever my eyes see her. It reminds me of the fact that she was the reason he died.”
“You know the truth-”
“I don’t give a fuck about any truth. She is the reason Aiden died.” I yelled and stood up on my feet. “I’m gonna fucking kill her.” My eyes welled up. “He was everything to me.” I hit my chest in a rage. “He was the one who saw me for who I was. When everyone turned their backs on me, he gave me a chance. We were half-brothers, but he treated me like his biological brother. He didn’t forget about me like the others or turn away from me. He was my best friend. If it wasn’t for Wendy, he would still be alive.” I roared.
“You know Aiden couldn’t stop resisting it. He loved her, but he couldn’t control himself.” Kellan explained. “He is powerful doesn’t mean he doesn’t have weaknesses. He loved Wendy so much, but he couldn’t accept the fact that she belonged to everyone.”
“I wish she died during the fire outburst.”
“Calm down.” He closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead.
“What! Huh? You want me to calm down? Why? My best friend is fucking died and all you are fucking saying to my face is that I should calm the fuck down, right?”
“Lykan?”
“I’m gonna kill her.” I snarled. “This bitch keeps moving us around like some clap chess. We are alphas for crying out loud, and that little bitch keeps playing us like tools. Do you realize how shameful it is for an Omega to play with us like this?” I shouted and laughed a little. “Let me guess, Kellan. Sihwa is the reason we are getting fucked up. He wants her and doesn’t want anyone to touch her. That’s not fair. No one is speaking about it. Everyone is just fucking silent on this issue and letting that wild bitch to keep running around. She has turned this pack to her playground. No one is saying anything. She keeps gambling with our lives. Forcing us to suffer the mate bond with her.” I got a little closer to him. “AIDEN. IS. DEAD.”
“Lykan.” He mumbled.
“You are doing nothing about it. And you call yourself an Alpha, Kellan.” I lowered my tone. “Today is his death anniversary. I bet no one remembers him. He is gone just like that. It rips apart my heart that I let Aiden die. I have no one left, Kellan.” I wiped off my tears. “Heard Chris brought her to the estate. Guess it will be pretty easy for me to kill her myself. Can you imagine it?”
“Lykan.” Kellan uttered. “I understand what you are saying.”
I shook my head. “No, you don’t.”
