Audrey hurriedly returned to the Walters family estate luckily before Caesar returned from the golf course. She left without anyone noticing, thinking that out of past affection, she had to go see Sirena. But she didn’t expect that Sirena had left her a message!
This made Audrey restless.
After some thought, she called her son.
It rang several times before Ulric answered.
“Mom.”
Hearing this address, Audrey felt slightly relieved.
“Hey! How’s your recovery? Does it still hurt?”
“I’m fine.” Ulric’s response was still concise, without any extra words.
It was the same before when they talked on the phone without meeting Rosalind. He would always respond with just a few words, and after a few sentences, he would have to go back to work.
Audrey felt lonely. She had no way of understanding her son’s life, which was why she especially liked Sirena! Because she was young and working by her son’s side, she could hear some news about him from her and have a chat.
“What about Rosalind? Can she take care of you?” Audrey hesitated before asking, mainly to test Ulric’s attitude and see if Rosalind had obtained the flash drive.
“She takes good care of me.”
“Well, alright then. I won’t say anything more. Everything is under your father’s control now, and I won’t interfere anymore! If you need anything, just give me a call or send me a message occasionally! Ulric, no matter what, I am your mother. You were born after I risked my life for you. How could a mother not love you?”
“Yeah, I know.”
After hanging up the phone, Audrey breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed like nothing had happened yet.
After all, the surveillance footage had been destroyed. Even if Rosalind really got hold of the flash drive, it would be empty. What was there to be afraid of? It was just scaring herself.
Audrey patted her chest and called the butler over. “Come on, accompany me to the front door to greet the master.”
“Yes, Madam!”
…
In the hospital, Ulric was teaching Rosalind about the recent strategic transformation in the industry.
“Now we can adopt a combination of commercial banking and investment banking models for better coordination with the banks. Analyzing from perspectives such as factory construction, production, operation management, employee payroll, and mergers and acquisitions will be more beneficial for both parties’ deep cooperation.”
He spoke in a deep voice while Rosalind listened attentively and occasionally took notes with a pen.
When she didn’t understand something, she blinked at him, and Ulric seemed to understand as if they shared one brain. He patiently explained it again in more detail.
“Because overseas companies usually have more layouts, helping the group visualize the accounts of various subsidiaries at home and abroad can further achieve functions such as direct connection between banks and enterprises for unified management.”
Rosalind nodded, unable to help but admire Ulric’s intelligence.
The ideas he came up with were always innovative and met the company’s needs while making management more convenient and efficient.
“For W Group’s next step, we should focus on foreign markets, right?”
“That’s basically the plan unless there are suddenly good projects domestically.” Ulric glanced at her and smirked. “Do you want to lead a project on your own?”
“Me?” Rosalind was taken aback and shook her head. “No, I can’t handle it.”
