Every time she tried to close her eyes, the man would deliberately increase his force, making it impossible for her to keep them shut. He insisted she keep her eyes open and look at him.
Several times, Rosalind got so angry that she bit him hard, but he didn’t seem to feel any pain. Instead, he just laughed!
Rosalind shot him a glare, then got up to go fill the bathtub.
Knowing Ulric’s obsession with cleanliness, she made sure to scrub the bathroom thoroughly, wiping every surface carefully before turning on the water.
Before she could finish, she suddenly felt someone wrap their arms around her from behind!
She froze for a moment, then turned around, exasperated.
“What are you doing?”
“Help me take off my clothes, hmm?”
Rosalind pushed him lightly. “It’s not like your hands are broken.”
“But I want you to do it.” With that, he stretched out his arms, and the already loose shirt he was wearing slipped down, revealing glimpses of his abs.
Ulric’s lips curved into a smirk, his sharp Adam’s apple bobbing slightly with his breath, as if tempting someone to bite it and leave a mark that belonged only to her.
This was the kind of sight that made Rosalind’s heart race and her face flush, no matter how many times she’d seen it before…
“Can you stop messing around? I need to leave!”
“No.”
Ulric’s arm snaked around her waist, pulling her effortlessly into his embrace. He deliberately leaned close to her ear, where a small mole was, and whispered hoarsely, “Why are you running? I’m just taking a bath.”
Rosalind didn’t believe him for a second!
When it came to things like this, he was a liar through and through. The phrase she heard the most was… “Just one more time.”
“The water’s ready. You can go sit in the tub and wash yourself.” How old was he, still needing someone to accompany him? Clearly, he had other intentions!
“What if I pass out? Aren’t you afraid?”
That was a fair point.
“I’m really not going to do anything. It’s just a bath.” Ulric took her hand and placed it on the buttons of his shirt. “Unbutton this for me.”
This man was impossible!
Rosalind pouted but helped him undo the remaining buttons and took off his shirt.
The wound on his body still showed traces of blood and the faint yellow stain of iodine. It was a through-and-through injury, visible from both the front and back.
Without thinking, she reached out and touched it gently. “Does it hurt…? Did it hurt a lot that day?”
“No, it just felt a little cold.”
“You’re lying to me!”
Ulric lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. “I’m not lying. It really didn’t hurt.”
Rosalind’s lips quivered, and tears threatened to spill over.
Lately, she’d been so emotional, always on the verge of crying…
“I don’t believe you. Even a small cut hurts me, and you had an entire dagger stabbed into you!”
Ulric used his thumb to wipe away her tears, but when they kept falling, he simply leaned down and kissed them away…
The salty, slightly bitter taste spread across his lips.
“Don’t cry.”
“I won’t let you do something like this again! Ulric, you have too much on your shoulders. The entire W Group is counting on you. My life isn’t worth it!”
Ulric frowned. “Whether it’s worth it or not, I’ll be the judge.”
“Do you know how scared I was that you’d die?” Ever since Ulric’s accident, she’d developed a fear of the word “death”. Just hearing it made her whole body tremble.
She would never forget the scene of Audrey sobbing uncontrollably when she arrived in Sweden.
Rosalind really thought he was dead!
Ulric chuckled, “You have so many suitors behind you. If I died, they’d have their chance.”
Rosalind panicked. “Shut up!”
