Chapter 539: More Torturous More Than Having You Wipe My Body

Malcolm knew that Ulric must have done it on purpose.
“Uh… Malcolm…” Rosalind’s voice was hesitant.
He smiled. “Go ahead. He’s a patient. You need to take good care of him. I’ll wait for you to come back.”
“Okay, I’ll hang up now, Malcolm!”
After ending the call, Malcolm looked up at the sky.
The wind in Northville City was really strong today, so strong that it felt like his heart was being torn apart. He instinctively pressed a hand to his chest, took a moment to steady himself, and then walked back.
Maybe this was for the best. As long as his heart still ached, it meant he wasn’t completely dead yet.

In the hospital room, Rosalind hung up the phone and turned to look at Ulric.
The man raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. “What?”
“You wanted me to wipe you down, right? I’ll do it now!” She walked closer, both exasperated and amused. “Didn’t you say that having me wipe your body was a form of torture? Just because I took a call from Malcolm, you’ve changed your mind?”
Ulric wasn’t bothered. He leaned back against the bed, his lips curling into a lazy smile. Since his wound needed frequent checking, his shirt was left open at the top, the first two buttons undone, revealing his well-defined chest muscles, prominent collarbones, and those mysterious numbers tattooed on his skin-sexy and enigmatic.
“I haven’t changed my mind,” he said, pausing for effect. “It’s just that hearing you talk to Malcolm feels more like torture than having you wipe me down.”
“If it weren’t for Malcolm’s help over the years, you might not even have had the chance to see me again.”
Without Malcolm, she would have been too busy working to support the kids and taking care of them herself. How could she have become a director at Eastsun Corporation?
No matter what happened in the future, Rosalind would never forget the help Tilda and Malcolm had given her.
Otherwise, how would she be any different from those ungrateful people?
“I know,” Ulric said, fully aware of Malcolm’s place in Rosalind’s heart. “But that doesn’t stop me from feeling jealous.”
“You’re so childish.”
The CEO of W Group was jealous all the time!
She really wanted to take a picture of Ulric right now, with his roguish and shameless demeanor, and post it on W Group’s official website. Let everyone see what the once cold and aloof CEO had become!
“I’m only like this with you.”
“Yeah,” Rosalind sighed. “So, should I go get water to wipe you down?”
She hadn’t forgotten about this! The man in front of her had a cleanliness obsession and couldn’t stand going a day without a shower. The only option was to wipe him down.
Ulric grabbed her wrist. “No need. Go run me a bath.”
“You want to bathe yourself? Dr. Stewart said-”
“She said no showers, but I’ll only wash below the wound.”
Rosalind frowned. “I’ll go ask her if that’s okay.”
“I said it’s fine, so it’s fine,” Ulric repeated, his tone firmer this time.
The main issue was that he couldn’t stand the sticky feeling on his skin, and he couldn’t stand having Rosalind wipe him down either.
He’d rather risk reopening his wound!
The pain? He could handle it.
Rosalind knew that when he spoke like this, his decision was final.
These past few days in Sweden, they had gotten along so well. He had been so approachable that she had almost forgotten he was the decisive and ruthless king of the business world. Once he made a decision, no one could change it.
“Fine, but you need to be careful!”
“If you come in with me, it’ll be fine.”
Rosalind was taken aback. “You’re taking a bath. Why would I go in with you…”
“Is there anything left of me that you haven’t seen?” Ulric’s eyes glinted as he asked directly.
Her face flushed. “I don’t want to see anything! You’re the one forcing me to look!”
