“What?!” Rosalind stood up straight in an instant.
Ulric’s heart sank, and he instinctively looked at Rosalind.
He knew very well the place Tilda held in Rosalind’s heart, perhaps even more important than himself. Johnny had just touched a nerve by getting involved with Tilda!
Johnny thought about last night and felt quite wronged.
“I swear, it was really Tilda who took the initiative! I… at most, I can be considered an accomplice. I didn’t refuse. If you don’t believe me, ask her!”
Rosalind didn’t want to hear him argue. She took out her phone to call Tilda and find out what was going on.
Ulric stopped her first and asked Rosalind to let Johnny finish speaking.
“So you’re saying it was consensual between you two.”
“Of course!” Johnny wrinkled his handsome face, feeling very aggrieved. “I wouldn’t force a woman. Yesterday, when we left the hospital, she wanted to go to the supermarket, so I gave her a ride. Then when we got back to the hotel, she asked me if I wanted to…”
“Ahem…”
Rosalind coughed at the right moment, and Johnny hit the brakes in time, not revealing what he was about to say next.
“And then? Why did you come here today to ask her about her flight?”
“She slept with me, and then she wouldn’t even give me her phone number! What do you think I wanted to do?” Johnny looked at Rosalind with an interrogative attitude. “You should ask her what she wanted to do.”
Rosalind remembered how Tilda had praised Johnny’s looks before… Could it be that Tilda really had developed feelings for Johnny?
“I haven’t contacted Tilda yet. She probably hasn’t woken up. I’ll ask her after I talk to her,” Rosalind said.
“That’s impossible. She’s not in her room.”
“What?”
Rosalind quickly took out her phone and called Tilda.
Thankfully, she answered this time!
If Rosalind had known earlier, she would have called right away. She was afraid of disturbing Tilda’s sleep and didn’t expect that Tilda would leave directly!
“Rosalind!”
Tilda seemed to be at the airport. It was a bit noisy over there, with announcements playing in the background.
“Why did you leave alone? Tilda, did you see the message I sent you?”
“I saw it, but I’m most afraid of people sending me off when I leave! I would cry my eyes out. So I left quietly! Anyway, after you return home, we’ll see each other again in just a month!” Tilda’s voice sounded a bit tired but still clear.
Rosalind glanced at Johnny and hesitated for a moment before deciding not to ask about him.
Since Tilda didn’t mention anything about him, she probably wanted to talk about it later, or maybe not at all. It would be too awkward for Rosalind to pry into such matters.
“So you’re at the airport now?”
“Yes! Don’t worry. Malcolm will pick me up. He’ll bring his two kids along too. I miss them!”
“Okay, take care on your journey.”
After Rosalind hung up the phone, Johnny stared straight at Rosalind, asking, “Where’s Tilda?”
“She left. Since she didn’t even bother telling you before leaving, she probably doesn’t want to contact you anymore. You don’t need to look for her.”
Johnny instantly became furious. “Why should she take no responsibility after taking the initiative and sleeping with me? Does she get to define our relationship however she wants?”
Rosalind crossed her arms and looked at him. “What do you want then?”
“She’s at the airport, right? Fine, I’ll go ask her!”
Johnny said as he was about to leave, but Rosalind quickly called out, “You haven’t figured out what kind of relationship you two should have yet. How can Tilda define it? Before that happens, I advise you not to look for her!”
But he ignored her as if he hadn’t heard anything and walked away directly.
