Johnny couldn’t help but wonder what he did to upset Tilda in the first place.
Even though he misunderstood Rosalind at the beginning, it was because of ignorance and a touch of selfishness. After all this time, Rosalind didn’t mind, so why was Tilda so relentless?
But these words did make Tilda feel a little guilty.
She sighed and softened her tone as she said, “I just feel that we’ll be strangers in the future, and there’s no need for too much contact. If I hurt your feelings, please bear with me! However, even if you don’t bear with it, there’s no way around it. Anyway, we won’t see each other again.”
The last sentence made Johnny feel a slight discomfort in his heart.
Although it wasn’t obvious, he could sense it.
“Why won’t we see each other? We’re both in Northville City.”
“I don’t want to see you, so we won’t.”
She left no room for negotiation and didn’t give Johnny any face.
How could he endure such injustice? Determined, he pulled his hand back. “Fine, then we won’t see each other again! I never wanted to see you anyway!”
Then he turned and went back to his room.
Tilda watched his seemingly defiant figure and sneered.
“What’s wrong with him?”
…
Rosalind slept until the afternoon.
When she opened her eyes, her body felt sore and achy, as if every bone had been disassembled and reassembled.
“Awake?”
Ulric, who was sitting beside her, noticed her movement and immediately set aside his work.
“Mmm.” Rosalind propped herself up with her hand and saw that Ulric had only taken a chair to sit beside the bed, opening his laptop to work. She immediately became displeased. “When did you wake up? How can you get out of bed by yourself?”
Ulric smiled gently and replied in a warm voice, “I didn’t sleep.”
“You must be hungry. I’ll have someone bring food over.”
Rosalind sighed helplessly, “You lie down first. You should take care of yourself!”
“I have a few projects to look over here. After that, I’ll go back to bed.” Ulric pointed at the computer screen covered in dense text.
Rosalind knew that during his recovery, his company must have accumulated a lot of work.
But nothing was more important than his well-being.
“How about this? You lie down while I read it to you, okay?”
Ulric stared at her for a few seconds before nodding willingly. “Okay.”
Rosalind went over to hold his arm cautiously, afraid of touching his wound.
Finally getting him back into bed, she sat down in front of the computer.
Just as she was about to start reading, something suddenly came to mind.
“This contract… Does it have a confidentiality clause? Can I take a look?”
“There is nothing you can’t see.”
Lately, he had been too sweet-tongued. She didn’t know where he learned it from. It always caught Rosalind off guard.
She cleared her throat a few times to steady herself and looked at the words on the document, feeling stunned.
“A new project in Faydale?”
“Yes.”
“It snows there in winter. It’s beautiful!” Although Rosalind had seen snow before, she had never been to Faydale. She had only seen pictures.
There was a famous cathedral over there.
Ulric raised an eyebrow and reached out his well-defined hand to hold hers.
“When Faydale snows, I’ll take you there.”
Rosalind’s body stiffened and her expression became unnatural.
They wouldn’t wait until it snowed…
However, Rosalind forced herself to smile excitedly. “Really? That’s great! Then I’ll bring more down jackets when the time comes.”
“Rosalind.”
“Yes?”
Ulric’s gaze flickered slightly. “I will definitely take you there.”
