Rosalind’s expression seemed unnatural. “It’s… it’s nothing.”
Rebecca looked at her and smiled. “Taking care of patients is tiring, isn’t it?”
“Um…”
Indeed, it was exhausting.
Rebecca, as if she understood, comforted her with a pat on the shoulder. “Then rest a little longer. I’ll come back later.”
“No need… It’s time for him to change his bandages!”
Rosalind didn’t want to be alone with Ulric in the room anymore.
Her back and legs hurt!
Rebecca, unaware of the previous ambiguity in the room, entered with the medicine and muttered, “The ventilation in this room isn’t good. It’s stuffy and has a strange smell.”
Rosalind’s scalp tingled, and she couldn’t bring herself to look up.
She suddenly had a terrible thought!
Ulric wouldn’t continue like this for another month, would he?
“How do you feel, Mr. Walters?” Rebecca’s voice came from behind.
Ulric responded, “I feel fine.”
“Let me take a look.” Rebecca moved to his side and carefully unwrapped the gauze. She furrowed her brows slightly. “Your wound… Did you move around while sleeping last night? I see some bleeding!”
Ulric glanced at the woman who didn’t even dare to look at him and replied, “It might have happened while I was sleeping.”
“You should restrain your movements. If the wound keeps bleeding, we don’t know when it will heal,” Rebecca advised him. After jotting down today’s situation in her notebook and checking the monitor’s data, she nodded in satisfaction. “But things are indeed improving. You’ll have to stay in bed for another day, and tomorrow, we can remove these devices. You can also get out of bed and move around a bit.”
“Okay, thank you.”
Rebecca was about to leave after completing her task when Ulric called out to her in a low voice, “Can I take a shower tomorrow?”
“Not yet, you can only wipe yourself for now. Is something wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?” She noticed Ulric’s deeply furrowed brows.
“I feel uncomfortable after sweating.”
“Sweating?” Rebecca was puzzled. “This room has air conditioning. You can turn it on!”
Ulric’s gaze once again turned towards Rosalind as he smiled. “Alright, I understand.”
Confused, Rebecca walked out of the ward, feeling that these two were acting strange today.
As soon as the door closed, Rosalind gritted her teeth in anger. “Do you want everyone to know what happened between us last night?”
She kept avoiding it, yet he kept bringing it up intentionally!
“I was just asking if I could take a shower. I didn’t say anything else,” Ulric said calmly. His handsome face regained some color today. In fact, one could say he looked quite healthy and refreshed.
“I don’t want to deal with you! Today, I’m going to sleep with Tilda.”
“Fine, go ahead.”
Unexpectedly, Ulric readily agreed!
Just as Rosalind was about to nod, he spoke slowly.
“Just let me stay alone in the ward. If I die, no one will know.”
“This hospital belongs to the Walters family. You can have as many caregivers as you want!”
Ulric raised an eyebrow with a hint of an uncontrollable smile on his lips. “But they can’t solve my problem. Only you can.”
Rosalind clenched her teeth. “No way!”
“Then just once today.”
“Not even once!”
“Rosalind, don’t forget that I’ll be able to get out of bed tomorrow.” Ulric threatened lightly. “By then, how many times we do it will be up to me.”
