“I’m fine.” Rosalind knew that Ulric must be worried about her, so she approached Dr. Stewart and whispered, “If he asks about me, tell him I’m doing well! I don’t want him to worry.”
Rebecca smiled, with two dimples on her lips, making her look like a college student still in school.
“You two are really a loving couple. He told me the same thing.”
Rosalind paused for a moment, suddenly realizing it. “Is he hiding something from me? Is he in serious condition?”
Rebecca patted her shoulder gently and said, “Don’t worry! He’s fine. I wouldn’t ruin my reputation as a doctor. You need to take care of your leg! Mr. Walters is right. You also need to take care of your own health.”
“I’m fine. It’s just a fracture and I’ve had surgery.”
“But I saw the wound on your body. It seems to be infected. Did you come straight here after the surgery?” Rebecca was a doctor and could tell from her wounds that Rosalind didn’t rest properly after the surgery.
Rosalind awkwardly pulled at her lip. “I was afraid of him…”
“I understand! But now that Mr. Walters is fine, you should worry about yourself.” Rebecca walked to her wheelchair and pushed it forward. “Come with me to the examination room. I’ll take a look at it.”
Since she had already said this much, if Rosalind continued to refuse, it would seem rude.
So she smiled and said, “Thank you, Dr. Stewart.”
“You’re welcome!” Rebecca pushed the wheelchair while speaking with an excited tone, “Honestly, when I see how you both care for each other and consider each other’s feelings, I am truly moved. Love does exist in this world!”
Rosalind turned her head slightly to look at her, “Have you… never been in a relationship?”
Rebecca pouted, “I’m a medical student. I’m either in the research institute or in the clinic all day long. The opposite sex around me are either my mentors or other male doctors in the same profession. There’s no spark at all.”
“But during my years in the clinic, I have seen many cases where couples value money more than anything else when facing life-and-death situations.”
Rosalind blinked her eyes before fully digesting the meaning behind her words.
“They are unwilling to spend money to treat their spouses?”
“Yes, there were even cases where they could have easily cured the illness with a little more money but chose to give up.” Rebecca sighed, “That’s why I’m afraid of marriage. I think the dark side of human nature is too terrifying.”
Rosalind wanted to say that this kind of thing was quite shocking to hear, but then she thought about her father.
Her mother had been in the hospital for so many years, and as for her father, he didn’t even bother to pay the medical bills-he hadn’t visited her mother even once!
If it weren’t for Ulric’s appearance, she probably wouldn’t believe in love or anything like that.
“Seeing the relationship between you and Mr. Walters and how he risked his life to protect you, I think he’s a hero!”
“Ulric… He’s actually quite foolish.” Thinking about how every time he looked at her with that humble and timid expression despite being the CEO of W Group, Rosalind couldn’t help but want to laugh.
His cautiousness might only be seen by herself.
“You call him foolish? Be careful, or I’ll tell Uncle Caesar!” Rebecca obviously didn’t know the relationship between them and thought Rosalind was recognized as part of the Walters family.
