Chapter 479: I Feel Like She’s Hiding Something from Me

“Sirena is quite good at acting. It might be her way of avoiding responsibility.”
Ulric didn’t believe Sirena had gone mad.
As a powerful figure in the business world, it was necessary for him to be sharp. He had to remain vigilant and suspicious of everyone-except Rosalind.
“Ah! I was so foolish back then. I actually thought she was gentle and kind!” Johnny couldn’t help but wish he could go back in time and give himself a slap. “At that time, Sirena told me that you only liked Rosalind to spite her because they looked alike! I truly believed it.”
Those two really did look alike!
The logic made sense too.
Rosalind’s body tensed up when she thought about her blood relationship with Sirena. It made her feel nauseous instinctively.
“You two talk first. I’ll step out for a moment.”
She didn’t want anyone to notice her discomfort, especially Ulric. She was afraid he would worry.
Tilda didn’t find it interesting to stay here either, so she said, “I’ll go with you!”
Ulric watched her walk out with some urgency and furrowed his brow slightly. “She seems uncomfortable. Find a doctor to check on her.”
“Don’t worry. With Tilda accompanying her, Rosalind will be fine! Uncle Caesar said someone would check on her leg injury tomorrow. It feels like… after this incident, your parents seem to have accepted Rosalind.”
Johnny was amazed that he could see Rosalind here!
Based on his understanding of Ulric’s parents, they would definitely disdain Rosalind’s background. But unexpectedly, they allowed her to take care of Ulric and even willingly gave the two of them some space alone.
It was truly rare!
“I feel like she’s hiding something from me.”
Ulric’s thoughts weren’t as optimistic.
He understood his parents’ temperament better. He felt that many things were amiss, but Ulric knew he wouldn’t be able to get any answers from Rosalind. Perhaps it was due to her upbringing and family background. It was difficult for Rosalind to fully trust anyone.
Even if she didn’t intentionally suspect anything, she couldn’t open up to anyone. She always held back and considered carefully.

Rosalind walked downstairs with Tilda.
It was already evening, and the night was gradually getting darker. The surroundings were quiet, with a neatly arranged forest of trees stretching as far as the eye could see.
Neither of them spoke, but eventually, Tilda couldn’t hold it any longer and spoke first, “Rosalind, give Malcolm a call. He’s really worried about you.”
Rosalind paused for a moment and whispered, “You tell him instead. I’m… not sure how to face him.”
Malcolm’s love for her was overwhelming yet gentle, making Rosalind unsure of how to respond.
She had rejected him multiple times, but he never got angry or left in frustration. Instead, he genuinely protected her like an older brother-except… he refused to give up on her.
Tilda sighed. “Malcolm is also infatuated. I’ve talked to him many times already. His parents are pressuring him too, but he won’t listen! It feels like the smile on his face only appears when you’re around.”
“Tilda, I can’t reciprocate Malcolm’s feelings!”
“I know! He knows too!” Tilda regretted introducing them in the first place.
How could she have thought that the two of them could never be together, especially when her cousin was so determined to pursue Rosalind?
