“You can’t leave the hospital anymore! Rosalind, even if I have to tie you to the bed, I absolutely won’t allow you to leave!”
Malcolm had indulged her in running out in the rain all night. Knowing that Ulric had already left for treatment abroad, she should calm down now!
Seeing Malcolm’s unwavering attitude, Rosalind shifted her gaze to Tilda.
“Tilda, I…”
“Floyd was frightened because of Sirena’s incident. He started crying as soon as it got dark, and neither Jake nor I could comfort her! Rosalind, don’t you care about them?”
The children…
Rosalind’s eyes finally showed a different expression.
Just when Tilda and Malcolm thought she had come to her senses, she spoke up, “Give me my phone, please.”
Malcolm glanced at Tilda and then turned around silently to get her phone.
Rosalind took the phone with her bandaged hand and powered it on, revealing countless unread messages and missed calls, with the majority coming from Lion.
But she had no time to question Lion now. Rosalind quickly scrolled to Cedric’s number and dialed.
The ringtone echoed again and again until finally, just before the call would disconnect, someone picked up.
“Miss Ruell.”
“Cedric, I…”
“I know what you want to ask, but I can’t tell you anything-it’s a direct order from the chairman.” Cedric felt that they, as a couple, should be together, but he couldn’t afford the consequences.
Rosalind opened her mouth, her fingers tightly gripping the phone. “So… has he woken up?”
She didn’t dare ask if Ulric was dead, so she simply asked if he had regained consciousness.
On the other end, there was a long sigh. “I wasn’t there. I stayed back at the office to handle things. I really don’t know anything.”
Cedric was also anxious about the president’s condition, but given his position, he wasn’t in a place to call the chairman for updates!
“If he wakes up, he will definitely come looking for me. He will be worried about me! I need to be by his side!”
“Miss Ruell, if I get any new information, I promise to let you know. But I have to get back to work now. Sorry!”
He hung up the phone, and when Rosalind tried to call back, the line was already turned off.
At that moment, there was truly nothing Cedric could do.
Seeing that Rosalind was about to call again, Malcolm reached out to stop her. “Don’t make it harder for Cedric.”
Tilda stood up suddenly, saying, “Rosalind, how about I bring Jake to the hospital to keep you company? Floyd is a bit scared, so she can’t come, but Jake can!”
She thought having a child in the hospital might at least take Rosalind’s mind off things.
Without waiting for her agreement, Tilda dashed out to take Jake to the hospital.
Malcolm took Rosalind’s phone away and looked at her seriously. “This time, no one is going to help you! Stop trying to find Ulric.”
Rosalind wouldn’t listen to him. She insisted on getting up.
She fell back down, then tried to get up again, only to fall back down repeatedly, reopening her wounds in the process!
Finally, Malcolm decided to tie her to the bed to keep her from getting up!
“Malcolm! Let me go!”
“Even if you hate me, you can’t leave.”
As they spoke, Tilda had already brought Jake to the hospital room.
Seeing her son, Rosalind finally calmed down.
Jake ran over and took his mother’s hand. “Mommy… does it hurt?”
Rosalind’s eyes instantly filled with tears.
In the next moment, Jake leaned in close to his mother’s ear and whispered, “Mommy, I found out where he is. His phone’s location shows that he’s in Malmo, Sweden right now.”
