In truth, Malcolm really wanted to tell Rosalind that Ulric was dead, so she could let go of any lingering feelings for him.
It was just a matter of being sad for a while, and slowly, things would get better. Eventually, she would accept this reality and move on.
But looking at her eager eyes, desperate for an answer, and her concealed worries, Malcolm couldn’t bring himself to do it.
“He’s not dead. The Walters family sent him to Central Union Hospital for treatment. I don’t know anything beyond that.”
“But… I saw Sirena’s knife pierce his heart with my own eyes!” Rosalind feared that he didn’t die when they took him away, but what happened afterward?
What were the results of the rescue?
“Rosalind! Can’t you care about yourself for a moment?”
Malcolm’s words were cut short as Rosalind struggled to get up.
In her haste, she pulled at her wound, causing the bandages to quickly soak with blood! But she seemed numb to the pain, only hating herself for not having the strength to walk freely.
“I want to go to Central Union Hospital, Malcolm. Take me there!”
“I won’t allow you to go!” This was the first time Malcolm had raised his voice at Rosalind.
This frustration had been brewing in his chest for a long, long time! It had reached a point where if he didn’t speak up, he would suffocate himself.
When Rosalind was shouted at, she hesitated instinctively but still went to find her shoes, wanting to leave.
Helplessly, as soon as her feet touched the ground, she lunged forward.
The freshly stitched wound was ripped open, and the IV needle in her arm was also pulled out. Waves of excruciating pain radiated from every part of her body, causing beads of sweat to instantly trickle down her forehead.
“Rosalind!” Malcolm hurried over to support her.
But Rosalind pushed him away. “I want to go to Central Union Hospital!”
“Both your legs are broken! You can’t walk at all! Please, let’s have the doctors check your wounds first. Then I’ll take you there!” Malcolm knew he couldn’t argue with her and could only try to coax her.
But right now, she had only one thought in her mind.
She wanted to go to Central Union Hospital. She wanted to see Ulric alive with her own eyes!
“I’m begging you. Please stop causing trouble.” Malcolm looked at her and couldn’t help but feel his heart ache until tears welled up in his eyes. “Rosalind, Ulric has the powerful medical team of the Walters family. They won’t let him die. But you don’t have that!”
Rosalind suddenly looked up at Malcolm. Her face was covered in bruises on her forehead and around her mouth, making it a shocking sight.
But her words remained unchanged as she gritted her teeth. “I want to see Ulric… Take me there.”
“Rosalind, even if you go, you won’t be able to see him. The Walters family won’t let you.”
“Let me go! I beg you, Malcolm. Take me there!” After saying this, Rosalind went crazy and banged her head on the ground without caring if it would reopen her wounds or if the bandages were already soaked in blood.
She just wanted to go to Central Union Hospital immediately. She was afraid that if she arrived even a second late, she wouldn’t have a chance to see Ulric!
Malcolm rushed over and forcefully embraced her, preventing her from further harming herself.
“Rosalind, listen to me. Once your wounds heal, I promise I’ll take you there. Okay? You’re covered in blood. You might collapse before we even reach there!”
Rosalind’s injuries were extensive. Besides the broken legs, she had deep wounds on her arms and back. She also suffered from a severe concussion.
Right now, she couldn’t stand on her own at all. It would be extremely dangerous for her to leave the hospital!
“I want to see him… Take me there…” Tears streamed down Rosalind’s face and mixed with the bloodstains on the bandage around her neck-one drop, two drops, countless drops.
Malcolm clenched his fist tightly but eventually let go with resignation. “Fine, I’ll take you there. Stop crying.”
