Sirena showed no mercy, determined to take Ulric’s life.
And so, with a ruthless thrust, Sirena plunged the dagger into him, using both hands to ensure it went in completely! Blood instantly soaked through his suit and white shirt.
It was the outfit Ulric had specifically chosen that morning, because today, he would see Rosalind.
“You want to kill me for Rosalind? Fine, I’m not afraid of death, Ulric. Let’s die together then! We’ll die together and never be apart!”
“No! Ulric!” Rosalind reached out her hand, her vision growing blurry…
Before her consciousness faded, she faintly heard Sirena’s wild laughter and Ulric’s hoarse voice.
He said, “Don’t worry about me. Go save her…”
Rosalind felt herself falling into an endless abyss.
Her entire body was suspended and constantly plummeting…
She could see her mother growing farther away until she vanished completely. She could see Malcolm, Tilda, Jake, and Floyd waving at her before gradually disappearing!
Rosalind desperately tried to reach out and grab them, but she couldn’t even control her own body.
Suddenly, the world started spinning wildly. A violent wave of nausea hit her, and she hastily opened her eyes and turned her head. A pile of mucus and vomit surged up from her stomach…
“She’s awake! Get a doctor!”
Malcolm’s excited voice echoed in her ears as countless footsteps approached.
Rosalind’s mind went blank, and all she could do was keep vomiting until there was nothing left but dry heaves, as if she wished to expel every organ from her body.
“Doctor, what’s wrong with her?”
“It’s normal. It’s a reaction to anesthesia. She’ll be fine soon.”
Malcolm watched as the doctor administered medication and examined Rosalind’s body. He tried to reach out and hold her hand when he was just inches away from touching her, but Rosalind pulled her hand back.
She looked pale, her lips cracked from dryness with traces of fresh blood.
“Where is Ulric? Where is he…”
“Forget about him! Rosalind, do you realize how close you came to death? If it weren’t for Ulric, you wouldn’t have gone through all this!” Malcolm was angry, not only because this incident involved Tilda, but more so because he was worried about Rosalind.
For so many years, she had worked so hard to avoid Ulric! Yet, he orchestrated Rosalind’s arrival in Northville City, making her a target for Sirena!
Malcolm didn’t dare to imagine what would have happened if Ulric hadn’t sent someone to keep an eye on Sirena in advance or if he hadn’t found Rosalind in time.
If Rosalind had fallen into Sirena’s hands, she would have died.
But at this moment, Rosalind didn’t want to hear any accusations. She just wanted to know about Ulric’s condition!
That sharp and long dagger… She had watched it being plunged into Ulric’s body!
“I want to see him. Take me to him, please, Malcolm…”
“You won’t see him! You won’t see Ulric again!”
Rosalind froze completely. Her eyes lost focus. “You’re lying to me, right? You’re lying!”
“I’m not lying to you. You won’t see Ulric again! After the incident, the Walters family sent people to take both Ulric and Sirena away. I have no way of knowing his condition.”
Rosalind blinked her eyes. Her throat felt like blades slicing through it.
“So… He’s not dead… Right? He’s not dead! He was just taken away, right?”
