“Mr. Walters, you’re here! I’ll get back to work then.”
“Mm.”
Cedric saw Ulric and immediately put on a smile. As he left, he waved at Rosalind.
“…”
Rosalind wished he would take her with him.
On the floor of the CEO’s office, it was usually just Ulric and Cedric. Anyone else needed Ulric’s permission to come up.
So now, no one could save Rosalind.
She instinctively took a step back, keeping a safe distance from Ulric.
Rosalind didn’t want anyone to misunderstand her relationship with him. Even if she didn’t care about her own reputation, she had to consider the feelings of the woman currently by Ulric’s side.
As a woman herself, Rosalind knew that if this woman found out Ulric was alone with his ex-wife, she would be heartbroken.
Even though she didn’t know who this “she” was.
“What are you avoiding?”
“Nothing.”
Ulric knew she was being stubborn, so he just raised an eyebrow. “Let’s talk inside.”
He took long strides towards his office, but there were no footsteps following him.
“Um… can’t you say what you need to here? There’s no one else around.”
“Rosalind.” Ulric turned around, standing right under a spotlight. The light cast a gentle glow on him, making his eyes look like they held galaxies!
For a moment, Rosalind was lost in thought.
“You need to know your place. Perhaps I should call you Miss Ruell?”
As the project director, she couldn’t argue with the CEO. It was also a reminder to Rosalind that they were at work and he wanted to discuss business.
With such pressure from above, Rosalind had no choice but to comply!
Even though she knew Ulric was doing this on purpose.
Reluctantly, Rosalind followed Ulric into his office. The door closed behind them, and the furnishings were just as they had been years ago.
He liked simple designs, mainly clean and tidy ones.
The documents on his desk were neatly arranged, even the pens were orderly placed.
Rosalind’s eyes instinctively looked forward and saw a photo frame!
It seemed to be of a girl because she saw the hem of a dress!
But before she could see the face clearly, Ulric walked over and turned the frame face down on the desk.
“Miss Ruell, you will no longer follow the Wayer City project. There is a mall development project in Northville City; you will follow that instead.”
Ulric picked out a stack of documents from many others and handed them over.
“But my contract with Eastsun Corporation mainly involves the Wayer City project,” Rosalind naturally resisted changing projects.
Continuing with the Wayer City project would give her an excuse to go there and avoid trouble!
But if she took on Northville’s project, wouldn’t that mean staying in Northville City every day?
“Clause 3, Article 2 of the contract states that Party A must comply with Party B’s personnel adjustments.”
“You need to give me a valid reason for the transfer! I’m doing well with the Wayer City project.”
“Doing well? How long have you been on leave?” Ulric raised an eyebrow at her.
There it was; he had been waiting for this moment.
Rosalind wanted to bite her tongue off.
Arguing with Ulric about this was like digging her own grave. As CEO, finding a legitimate reason to transfer her was too easy for him.
“Ulric! You did this on purpose!”
The man behind the desk looked up slightly, his thin lips curving into a smile. “Miss Ruell, you should call me-Mr. Walters.”
