With outsiders present, the bodyguards hesitated, unsure of what to do, as they cautiously observed Isaac’s expression.
His face darkened as he ordered, “Go and grab her!”
Isaac, shameless as ever, had clearly devised a plan to seek revenge.
“Isaac, don’t be shameless. This isn’t your territory, and I’m not Regan,” Callie held onto the man’s clothes in front of her, as if grasping onto a lifeline, speaking fearlessly.
The man in front of her lowered his head, his cunning eyes meeting hers, a hint of a smile flickering across his face.
“Do you really think I can’t do anything to you?” Isaac released Bryanna’s hand in surprise, taking bold steps forward to seize the woman who resembled a rabbit.
However, at that moment, the “lifeline” in front of Callie raised his hand and coldly reminded them, “This is Riverview Apartments. It wouldn’t be good for anyone if things escalate.”
Isaac furrowed his brows slightly, staring at the man in front of him wearing a mask. He reminded himself that this building was located in the best area of Ylosea, known for its high level of privacy. Only the wealthy and influential could live here. If things got out of hand and Ahmad found out, it would only cause harm without any benefit.
“This is my family matter.”
“She sought my help, so of course I will lend a hand.”
He faintly curled his lips, pressing the elevator button and watching as the doors slowly closed.
In the face-off between the two men, his presence was no less intimidating than Isaac’s.
Bryanna watched helplessly as Callie successfully escaped, her anger and frustration evident.
Isaac’s departing figure exuded anger, making people hesitant to approach.
Inside the elevator.
“Thank you today, um, I have something to attend to. I must leave!” Callie held onto the man’s hand gratefully, almost wanting to bow three times in gratitude.
But he didn’t react for a while, his gaze fixed on her face as he softly called out her name, “Callie.”
Callie froze.
“… Do you know me?”
He glanced at her and said, “Stop pretending.”
Callie forced a smile. At that moment, Regan replied to her message: He’s just a nuisance. Are you okay?
She immediately pretended to type on her phone while walking towards the elevator door. But in the next second, she was grabbed by the collar from behind. “Where are you going?”
His voice was as cold as ever.
Callie took a deep breath and finally turned around. “Mr. Oconnor, are you so free today that you came here to play the hero?”
Even with his hat and mask on, she could still recognize him. There was something unique about his presence.
Her words carried a sharp edge, and Nelson furrowed his brows as he took off his mask. “I knew you were here, so I came to find you.”
So he came specifically for her.
Callie was somewhat surprised but not appreciative. She couldn’t be bothered to put on a smile. “I have something to do.”
Nelson continued to follow closely behind her. “I’ll go with you.”
“It’s not a good idea. If the media catches us together, you’ll have to spend money to settle it,” Callie mocked sarcastically.
“We are legally married. We don’t need to spend money to settle anything.”
“What about Charlotte? I heard that there were photos of you two in the media, and you spent a seven-figure sum to destroy them. Quite an impressive move.”
Callie smiled knowingly, recalling what Regan had told her about recent events.
A man who cares about a woman is willing to spend money. He was willing to spend money on Charlotte, which spoke volumes.
Nelson grabbed her wrist. “If it gets reported, it will be misunderstood. That’s why we have to destroy them.”
“And what about you? Are you truly guilt-free?”
As she spoke, that anger rose within her again. She saw Kieran waiting in a car not far away and walked straight towards it. Nelson followed behind.
“Go to Oconnor Group.”
