Jaquan’s smile grew wider as he raised a glass of wine and poured it on the ground. “Nelson, you must withstand the storms of Ylosea.”
After saying this, everyone followed Callie out with great momentum.
No one noticed the extreme gloom in Nelson’s eyes.
Scarface stumbled after them, cautiously asking Jaquan, “Mrs. Oconnor actually challenged Nelson… What’s going on here?”
Jaquan slapped him on the head. “She’s not Mrs. Oconnor, but my girlfriend.”
Scarface’s fierce face looked particularly aggrieved at this moment. “But…”
It seemed Jaquan quite enjoyed this imagined identity.
Scarface immediately corrected himself after a glare from Jaquan. “I understand.”
Callie walked aimlessly forward, not knowing where to go but just wanting to walk and vent her frustration.
Jaquan dismissed everyone else and followed her, carrying her bag.
After about half an hour, Callie finally got tired and stood on a high spot, overlooking the night view of Ylosea.
Jaquan stepped forward. “Tsk, my Sky Pavilion is so big that you might not finish walking even if you walk all night.”
Callie ignored him, letting the wind blow her hair into disarray.
From this angle, she could see Nelson’s car parked at the entrance below. There were about five or six cars.
Nelson stood in the open space, with Charlotte beside him. The two seemed to be talking about something.
Callie felt a surge of frustration. “I don’t want to doubt him, but he doesn’t tell me anything.”
She had no idea that Charlotte had started working at Oconnor Group.
He could have told her.
“Would it help if he told you about such ambiguous matters? Could you really not mind? Everyone in Ylosea knows about Ahmad and Charlotte’s intentions.”
Jaquan leaned on the railing, recalling something. “Just like you appearing here today, equally ambiguous.”
He then added with a smirk, “Ah, two people caught at the same time, even more ambiguous.”
He laughed happily, as if witnessing a dramatic scene.
“You did it on purpose,” Callie took a deep breath.
“Don’t wrong me.”
Nelson got into the car, and Charlotte sat in the back seat. Their car left first, followed by the others.
Callie’s mind was a mess, and her head hurt even more.
Jaquan suddenly reached out to support her arm. “Go rest.”
“I don’t want to see Marilyn again and be humiliated,” Callie said clearly. She was about to leave but suddenly remembered something and warned him, “What you said to Scarface earlier, don’t touch anyone from the Oconnor family, do you hear me?”
She didn’t even realize how impolite her tone was, as if she didn’t consider Jaquan an outsider.
He smiled, enjoying her temper.
“Got it.”
Clearly not taking it seriously, Callie continued, “Do some legitimate business. Sailing on the sea for too long will eventually lead to a shipwreck. Don’t blame me for not warning you then.”
“Oh,” Jaquan replied ambiguously, changing the subject. “Is this concern?”
Callie couldn’t be bothered with him.
After walking some distance, she noticed Jaquan’s men gathered together, cautiously peeking at her.
Scarface gathered his courage and shouted, “My sister-in-law, take care! Come again next time.”
Callie turned back and glared at Jaquan fiercely. He still wore a carefree smile. “I can’t control what they say.”
Crazy person.
