She suddenly thought of a question. Besides the Oconnor family, was it possible that Reuben had made enemies himself?
But Reuben’s relationships were simple, and she couldn’t think of anyone who would target him.
Was it something from the past? But she didn’t know much about Reuben’s past.
Callie was extremely anxious. She thought and thought, then took out that medical license. It clearly read, “Ylosea First Hospital.”
“Ma’am, Mr. Oconnor doesn’t allow you to leave Paucaster Villa Complex…”
At the door, the servant blocked her with difficulty.
“I just called him. He agreed to let me go out.”
The servant didn’t believe her, “Unless Mr. Oconnor tells us personally, we can’t let you out…”
Callie’s body was too weak now, her face too pale, as if a gust of wind could knock her down.
She called Nelson, knowing he would never agree to let her leave.
She took a deep breath and had to return to the master bedroom.
Outside the master bedroom balcony, there was an external staircase, but the door below was also locked. To get out, she had to climb over the wall.
Callie carefully went downstairs and was about to climb the wall when the servant discovered her, “Ma’am! You can’t do that!”
Callie had already climbed halfway. Hearing this, she jumped up with force and climbed over the wall. “I’ll talk to Nelson. Don’t follow me!”
With that, she jumped down from the two-meter-high wall. The inertia was too great, and she rolled onto the grass. Her ankle hurt, but she limped away.
Before driving away, Callie called Nelson, planning to act first and report later. But he didn’t answer until the last second of ringing: “Hello.”
It was still the woman’s voice from last time. Callie knew who she was now and didn’t ask more: “Where is Mr. Oconnor?”
“Mr. Oconnor is busy.”
“Then remember to tell him that I left Paucaster Villa Complex. I want to find Shamar.”
There was the sound of writing on the other end, “Got it.”
Callie then put down her phone.
The first place she went was Scott Group. Mikayla saw her and was very surprised: “Mrs. Oconnor? Aren’t you afraid Mr. Oconnor will get angry?”
Callie frowned, “I’m looking for Jaquan.”
“Mr. Scott is not here.”
“Stop pretending.” While waiting outside, she clearly saw the lights on inside.
“Hey! Mrs. Oconnor! You can’t go in…” Mikayla went to stop her, but her actions were neither heavy nor light, not really trying to stop her.
Callie directly pushed open Jaquan’s office door. The man inside was sitting at the main seat, and there was a faint scent of red wine in the air.
Jaquan’s face was handsome, but when he smiled with his lips curled up, he looked wicked. “You really think this is a male model club where you can come and go as you please.”
Callie strode closer, placing her hands on the desk, her face serious.
“Where is Shamar?”
Jaquan picked up a pen and twirled it, “He’s one of your Oconnor family members. How would I know?”
“Then let me ask another question. Where is my father?”
This time he stopped twirling the pen and seriously scrutinized her, “He’s missing? You suspect Shamar did it?”
Jaquan’s mind worked very quickly, “You also suspect that Shamar is my man and I ordered him to do it.”
“Isn’t it?”
“No.” He answered very quickly.
“I don’t believe you.”
Jaquan laughed angrily, “So all the bad things related to you are done by me? You ask questions but don’t believe the answers. Why ask then?”
“Shamar is isolated in Ylosea. The only person he can turn to is you, and you have received him before. I don’t believe there’s no collusion between you two.” Callie’s voice grew colder as she spoke.
“Jaquan, I’m seriously asking you, where is he?”
