No matter how it was covered up, today’s events had indeed happened.
Nelson stared at her, scrutinizing, “Callie, you don’t need to lie to me.”
His gaze was too direct. Callie frowned and quickly realized, “You knew all along…”
“Your methods are sharp. Even if it wasn’t Jamir on the other side, I would have made the same move,” Callie said quickly, trying to calm Nelson’s temper. “I didn’t go easy on him because of who he is.”
Nelson laughed angrily, his voice hoarse, “Even if it wasn’t Jamir, you should always stand by my side. Feeling sympathy for the enemy is the most foolish thing!”
He couldn’t understand. Even without theoretical knowledge, if she didn’t stand by his side, she should at least stand against the opposition. That was a foreign venture capital company. How could she bear to let foreigners take advantage of her compatriots?
Or maybe, it didn’t matter who was on the other side; she just didn’t want to stand with him.
Feeling humiliated, Callie tried to pull away but was held tightly. She felt extremely wronged, “Then what do you want me to do? You brought me here…”
Nelson’s temper flared up, tinged with a sense of disappointed frustration, “I brought you here because I genuinely wanted the outside world to know your importance!”
Callie shivered at his outburst. She could certainly understand-Nelson was… making her public…
She took a deep breath, “I’m sorry. Let me go, and we can talk properly, okay?”
“Callie, you don’t need to be so conscientious.”
Callie blinked, not understanding.
Nelson stared at her and said, “You don’t need to use your conscience on these matters. In negotiations, there’s no absolute fairness. If you want to win, you rely on your skills. Sympathy is worthless; no one will go easy on you because you’re weak!”
She realized her mistake, but being scolded like this only made her feel more wronged.
Nelson looked out at the bustling night scene through the floor-to-ceiling window and laughed silently.
He couldn’t do anything about her.
His long hand moved upward on its own.
Feeling his touch, Callie resisted a bit. How could she not know his intentions? “This is your office…”
She didn’t understand how things had escalated to this point. Nelson grabbed her hand and leaned close to her pale ear, speaking lightly, “Do you think those people across the street can see us?”
The building opposite Oconnor Group’s headquarters was another office building with lights still on. If they looked over, they would definitely see them kissing!
If Nelson did something even more intimate… it would surely be visible…
Not to mention that Callie didn’t want to do it with him…
Callie struggled violently, “No, don’t do this. I don’t want to.”
Nelson easily controlled her strength and kissed her lips fiercely. Callie’s whole body stiffened, afraid that the people in the opposite building would see this vivid scene.
“Ruined my big plan and embarrassed Oconnor Group. Shouldn’t you make it up for me?” Nelson unbuttoned her collar, his voice lingering, “Hmm? That’s not how business is done, Callie.”
Callie felt ashamed. At this point, she could still react to this man’s teasing and follow his rhythm…
Suddenly, she turned her head away, gasping for breath, “I said I don’t want to!”
But Nelson seemed oblivious to her reaction and murmured, “What kind of compensation should it be? Have a child. I’ll treat him well. When he grows up and achieves something, the entire Oconnor Group will be his.”
