Chapter 591: He Did It

Outside the hospital room, Anthony had been waiting for a long time.
When he saw the haggard man, he bowed slightly. “Mr. Scott will ban Iyana from the industry.”
Nelson raised his hand to unfasten the watch on his wrist. “Iyana’s a second-tier star. He made great efforts to make her succeed. Yet he just gives up on her without hesitation. He’s quite responsible.”
His tone was gloomy. Anthony said, “That woman doesn’t know what’s good for her. She’s gotten involved with Mrs. Oconnor and Miss Ellison. Jaquan won’t let her off easily.”
Hearing this, Nelson glanced sideways. “Miss Ellison?”
Anthony quickly corrected himself. “I mean Mrs. Scott.”
Nelson started walking out but paused to look back at the hospital room. “Callie has been acting strange lately. Check if anyone is up to something.”
“Yes.”
Callie lay on the hospital bed, counting on her fingers how many times she had been hospitalized in the past two years. Life used to be tough, but her health was good. Now that life had improved, her health had deteriorated, always falling sick because of him.
She glanced at her phone; it was November, and another year was about to pass.
She wanted to watch that video again, but as soon as she opened it, she didn’t have the courage to continue and painfully closed it.
Night fell.
Nelson stood in the kitchen making porridge. He got distracted and burned his hand. Reflexively, he pulled back. Anthony couldn’t bear to see such a dignified man getting hurt and stepped forward. “Mr. Oconnor, let me do it. You haven’t rested all night; take a break.”
Nelson lazily lifted his eyes. “Get out.”
Anthony shrank back, not daring to speak further.
Nelson was very elegant when he was focused on his work. He poured the porridge into a small bowl and waited for it to cool. He slowly dried his hands and asked unhurriedly, “Did you take care of what I asked you to do?”
“Yes, before blacklisting Iyana, her agency released a statement revealing the truth to the public, restoring Mrs. Oconnor’s reputation.”
“Good.”

The temperature was just right. Nelson carried the porridge into the hospital room but stopped short when he saw people gathered around Callie’s bed; it was Regan.
He paused.
Callie saw Nelson through the crowd and wanted to alert them but was interrupted by Regan. “This is too much! It’s clearly not your fault. Why are they treating you like this? I can’t understand it. Iyana is overstepping and bullying you. It’s only fair for me to retaliate. Why are they taking it out on you?”
Callie couldn’t help but laugh.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Nelson place a paper bag at the door and quietly leave. Anthony carefully closed the door behind him.
Her smile faded slightly.
After a while, Callie came back to her senses. “Regan, can you bring me that paper bag?”
Regan ran over. “What’s this?”
Opening it, he found a bowl of light porridge, the millet cooked until soft and fragrant.
Callie stared at it in a daze. Regan asked curiously, “Did you order takeout?”
She set it aside and said indifferently, “Nelson made it.”
Regan clicked his tongue.
Callie took a spoonful and tasted it; it was quite good. She asked, “You seem to be in good spirits. Is your health better?”
Speaking of this, Regan sat down slowly. “I don’t know. Isaac was sent to Kland, but who knows when he’ll come back? It’s like having a time bomb strapped to me.”
Callie understood and nodded. Her hand holding the spoon paused for a moment. “Is Dr. Quinn still providing you with psychological treatment?”
