Chapter 431: A Shocking Remark!

People like you!
This one sentence was more than enough to reveal her utter disdain for rural folk.
Hearing this, Kayden nodded and said, “Ah, so that’s it. You’ve made yourself perfectly clear that you just look down on poor people.”
A shadow seemed to pass over Kayden’s face, darkening his expression like a storm cloud blotting out the sun. “But it’s fine. The glory days of your Bolton family are coming to an end. Don’t think for a second I want to share a hospital ward with the likes of you! Let me make this clear: with your status and position, you don’t deserve to breathe the same air as me, let alone share a room. Consider it the greatest honor of your entire life to be this close to me.”
Indeed, to share a ward with Seclela’s War God, to stand within arm’s reach of him, was nothing short of a miracle. Not everyone had such luck.
Kayden’s words weren’t the slightest bit exaggerated.
But to Colin and Amelia, these remarks weren’t just offensive. They were a slap to their faces!
The humiliation wasn’t just personal. It was an insult to their entire family name!
Who did he think he was to speak such outrageous words?
An icy shadow fell across Colin’s face as he retorted coldly, “Aren’t you going too far? We were polite to you out of respect for Dr. Adler, yet here you are, pushing your luck. You even have the nerve to threaten us! Do you seriously think you’re somebody, huh? Sure, you may be Dr. Adler’s Grand Master, but you’re not our master!”
Kayden didn’t bother wasting any more words. He cut straight to the point. “No apology, no discussion. Simple as that.”
Amelia crossed her arms. “Apologize? Over my dead body!” her voice dripped with arrogance.
Watching her smug, high-and-mighty demeanor, Kayden didn’t get angry. Instead, his expression remained calm as he said evenly, “Is that so? Alright then. You’ll regret this. And let me assure you, that you’ll come to me one day to apologize, begging for my mercy.”
The confidence in his voice left Colin and Amelia stunned. But they didn’t believe a single word of it.
Even Dr. Adler, who was standing to the side, looked astonished and doubtful.
Amelia couldn’t fathom where Kayden’s audacity came from. What gave him the confidence to say such outrageous things?
She didn’t get angry but just felt it laughable!
This guy! His arrogance clearly knew no bounds. Did he actually think that he was given the right to do as he pleased just because he knew Dr. Adler?
He’s just a narrow-minded fool who overestimated himself without knowing his limits!
Kayden didn’t bother wasting another second on the matter. Dealing with people like Colin and Amelia required nothing more than a phone call to utterly ruin them. And their family, the Bolton family, weren’t even worth his attention. They aren’t even qualified to be his opponents.
“I’ve had enough,” Kayden said impatiently. “I don’t have time to keep messing around here. I’ve got far more important things to do.”
Kayden hadn’t come to Vernon to get entangled in petty arguments. He was here for one reason: to find Wood.
So far, he was still clueless about Wood’s whereabouts, but he’d discovered a girl with an Innate Spiritual Body, which was a significant find. Even so, it wasn’t the main mission. What mattered most was to find Wood.
Wood’s current situation, whether she was safe or in danger, still remained uncertain. And if something bad had happened to her… that wasn’t a possibility Kayden could afford. Time was ticking.
Thus, Kayden had no intention of wasting another second here!
However, his words struck Colin and Amelia as the height of arrogance and audacity.
In their eyes, Kayden had clearly gone too far!
They thought Kayden was merely finding excuses to push Dr. Adler to hurry up and perform the surgery.
The more he acted this way, the more determined Amelia was not to let him succeed!
Thus, with a cold expression, Amelia turned to Dr. Adler. “Dr. Adler, I don’t care if he claims to be your Grand Master or whatever title he has. I hope you’ll assess the situation rationally and handle it appropriately. My father is critically ill. I trust you’ll make his surgery a priority.”
Her voice grew heavier, colder, as she continued. “My brother and I only have one father. And if something were to happen to him…”
Her sentence was left unfinished. The air was heavy with tension. It was all too clear that her words weren’t a plea. They were a threat.
Dr. Adler sighed softly, glancing between the two camps. On one side stood his revered Grand Master; on the other stood the formidable and influential Bolton family members.
To Dr. Adler, Kayden was undoubtedly a figure to be admired for his unmatched knowledge and talent. But beyond that, Kayden couldn’t offer him much help. Genius though he was, he was still too young and too raw when it came to navigating human relationships and understanding the bigger picture.
The Bolton siblings, on the other hand, were both titans in Vernon. Their names carried weight and influence far beyond ordinary means. One ruled the business world, and the other dominated the political scene. They could shake his position as dean at any moment, should they choose.
Even if Kayden held some power and managed to shield him from the Bolton siblings this time, how long could such protection really last?
After all, he spent much of his time in Inassea. What if anything happened when he wasn’t around?
Caught in the crossfire, Dr. Adler now found himself trapped and torn between the two choices.
And just then, Kayden broke the silence. “Save me your useless chatter,” he snapped. “I don’t have time to waste on this nonsense! Whatever surgery you’ve planned, we don’t need it! Stomach cancer, was it? I can cure it in a matter of minutes!”
His arrogance remained unchanged, defiant as always.
There wasn’t a trace of humility or concession in his words.
Wait. What did he just say?
Stomach cancer? He could cure it in a matter of minutes?!
Those words left Dr. Adler utterly stunned.
That’s stomach cancer! It’s cancer! One of the most fearsome diseases humanity has ever faced. Cancer was a death sentence, an incurable scourge, a bane that even modern medicine had yet to conquer.
To this day, no drug can truly cure cancer. While early-stage cases had been treated successfully, those were exceptions rather than the rule.
Though Kayden might be knowledgeable in traditional medicine, could he truly cure cancer?
Sure, some healers boasted that they had treatments for cancer. But even those supposed “cures” required time and gradual adjustment. Yet Kayden claimed he could do it in mere minutes!
Minutes. He had specifically said minutes! That could only mean one thing that he had some kind of miracle drug. He had a cure for cancer, unlike anything the world had ever seen.
Dr. Adler felt his heart pound as his thoughts raced.
Could it be? Had Kayden somehow solved the greatest medical mystery of all time?
If he truly made it, it would rock the entire medical world.
But Dr. Adler immediately brushed the thought aside.
Impossible. There was absolutely no way Kayden had cured stomach cancer. If he had, the news would have already sent shock waves across the globe.
No, this young man was spouting utter nonsense! At best, someone his age might possess a spark of talent in medicine, but curing cancer? Ridiculous.
Shaking his head, Dr. Adler let out a faint sigh of exasperation.
“Grand Master, are you seriously claiming that you can cure cancer?” he asked, his voice layered with skepticism, though a faint thread of curiosity lingered underneath.
Kayden nodded firmly. “That’s right.”
Dr. Adler’s eyebrows twitched in disbelief. “Do you even realize her mother is suffering from late-stage stomach cancer?”
“It doesn’t matter what stage it is. If I say it can be cured, by all means, it can be cured.”
His words were so bold, so wildly confident, that they were almost laughable.
Amelia couldn’t help herself but let out a burst of laughter. “Is this guy serious? Curing cancer? Do you even understand what cancer is? It’s one of the deadliest conditions on Earth! Even the most advanced countries and their cutting-edge medicines can’t cure it, and you think you can? Please, who would believe that?”
Not just Amelia and Dr. Adler, even the doctors standing behind exchanged looks of skepticism. Clearly, they were not buying Kayden’s words.
