Chapter 1790: Impressive

Book:My Ex-husband Regretted To End The Marriage Published:2025-2-7

Upon hearing Ayan’s words, Camille couldn’t help but smile, “Your impression in front of your grandfather isn’t very good, huh?”
Ayan also looked helpless. There was nothing he could do about it.
The father and son chatted, and Fletcher whispered, “What are your plans with Camille? Your grandfather has mentioned it more than once, hoping that you and Camille will remarry soon. Perhaps you both think the marriage certificate is just a piece of paper, your grandfather doesn’t think so. He is conservative and has many thoughts. So, think about it and consider it.”
Ayan nodded softly. This matter wasn’t urgent. Since he and Camille were doing well now, even if they didn’t remarry, it would be fine.
But they both knew what Callum was thinking.
In the evening, they had dinner at home.
Today, Ayan took a whole day to stay home and spend time with his grandfather. With so many family members around, the atmosphere was lively and joyful.
Both lunch and dinner were bustling with people, and everyone’s faces were lit up with happy smiles.
After dinner, they started playing cards.
Ayan and Camille didn’t join in. They held hands and strolled in the garden.
Camille was particularly happy today. She said, “Callum is back home, and everyone is happy. As long as it doesn’t affect his health, let him be happy. I think it’s really good!”
“Yeah, thanks for your suggestion. If you hadn’t suggested moving back, I probably wouldn’t have thought of so much.”
“You’re not someone who can’t think of much. You just don’t say it.”
Camille understood him well and cared more about his grandfather than anyone else.
Ayan raised his hand and kissed the back of her hand. His voice was low and hoarse as he asked, “Are we staying here tonight?”
“It’s up to your arrangement.” Camille didn’t mind staying at the mansion since she didn’t have to go to work early.
But in the end, they didn’t stay. After answering Kian’s call, Ayan left the mansion immediately, taking Camille with him.
Ayan looked serious, and she asked in a low voice, “Is something wrong?”
He had a stern face. “It’s work-related matters. I need to go back and handle them as soon as possible.”
Camille nodded in agreement.
Ayan dropped Camille off at Franklin Bay and then immediately left in his car.
Before leaving, he told Camille not to wait for him and to rest early. He didn’t know how late he would be busy.
Camille agreed and went upstairs.
It was still early after she took a shower. She wasn’t sleepy yet, and her laptop was in the car. She didn’t want to go down to get it, so she decided to use Ayan’s computer in the study instead. She used it before, so there were records of her logged-in accounts. It wasn’t troublesome at all.
She sat at the desk and worked on her sketches without paying attention to the time.
When she got busy, she forgot about time altogether. Coupled with her excitement today, she was very awake.
After finishing organizing her sketches, she realized that it was almost midnight and Ayan hadn’t returned yet.
Camille stretched lazily and got up to find a book before going back to her room to prepare for sleep.
Camille rarely read books unrelated to architecture, but Ayan’s bookshelf contained books from different cultures and genres. Not only that, he also had limited editions or unique books that he had collected at high prices.
The combined value of the books on these shelves was estimated to be enough to buy a villa in the most exclusive neighborhood of Hance City.
Camille casually picked up a book with an unusual title. She immediately checked its content on her phone. It was an obscure book about a person who climbed from the bottom through hard work to become a living legend in the financial world.
Camille was interested in this story, so she reached out to pull out the book but accidentally dropped something resembling a file onto the floor along with it.
Camille furrowed her brows as she picked it up. She wasn’t someone who liked casually going through other people’s things.
However, this file-like thing didn’t seem like an ordinary document. Through its transparency, she could clearly see a few words written on it-the Bill family personnel information.
Her expression turned slightly serious and curious. She felt a sense of unease as she opened the file…
Ayan went directly from Franklin Bay to Daisy’s office building where her company was located.
Kian was waiting for him at the entrance. Because it was already evening, only a few offices were still lit up while the rest of the building was almost empty.
Kian saw him getting out of the car with a stern face covered in thick clouds of gloominess between his brows. His voice was extremely cold as he asked, “What’s the situation?”
Kian whispered softly, “Elija plans to empty the company and sell everything before running away with his son. However, Elijah’s true identity is still that of a criminal Sean probably realized this too, so he told me out of concern. He doesn’t really want to leave with Elijah either. Sean was currently working under Jenson, and he’s quite satisfied with the stability of his job.”
Sean was quite enjoying his current life, so it was only natural for him to be reluctant to leave.
If he left with Elijah this time, they would have to keep hiding and running around indefinitely-a life that he truly didn’t want anymore.
But Sean proposed a condition to Kian-he didn’t want Elijah to know that he had informed them.
Kian agreed and truthfully informed Ayan about this matter.
Ayan didn’t say anything. He followed Kian into Daisy’s company floor using the elevator together.
The lights were still on brightly with several black-shirted bodyguards standing at the entrance.
The atmosphere felt heavy.
Ayan walked in to find Elijah and Sean being watched closely by the bodyguards, who were sitting on the floor of the office where Elijah had been working. The company had been stripped bare, almost completely sold off.
Seeing all this, Ayan couldn’t help but smile. “You two are impressive. You managed to sell off an entire company without breaking a sweat.”
The term “sold off” referred to the liquidation of all physical assets-computers, various electronic equipment, desks, chairs, and so on. When Daisy established the company, she had plenty of money to spend, choosing only the best, so it was no surprise that the sale fetched a decent price.
Kian handed Ayan the only item left behind-a plastic stool. Ayan casually sat down, his demeanor as cold as frost, a hint of icy disdain in his eyes. “Don’t you have anything to say?”
Sean, of course, was pleading for forgiveness, insisting that they had merely sold off items to cover daily expenses and that there was no intention of running away.
Elijah sat silently, his face stoic. He was obviously unhappy, having had all his plans laid bare.
Ayan exchanged a glance with Kian, and the next moment, Sean was escorted away.
The office was left with just Ayan, Elijah, and Kian.
Ayan asked nonchalantly, “Elijah, haven’t I treated you well? Why are you so ungrateful? I can understand you care about your nephew, but you two aren’t even blood relatives. What kind of bond do you have that makes you neglect your own son?”
