Elaine POV
“Come on, leave all those books and go out with me,” Azaire whined.
I flipped the page of the biology textbook and ignored him.
“You’ve been at that school for two days. Why the hell would they give you so much homework?” he demanded.
When I didn’t respond again, he snatched the book from the table and tossed it on the bed.
“Azaire!”
“Leave that stuff. We’re all going out tonight.”
I stood and marched to pick up my book. I had three research papers to submit, and it seemed every time I went to class two more papers were added on top. Before I could reach the bed, Azaire wrapped his arms around my middle and pulled me to his solid chest.
“Come on, Elaine. Do you want me to beg?”
I wiggled but he wouldn’t budge.
“I want to stay here and finish my work.”
“You want to stay here with Mom while the rest of us have fun?” he questioned.
Richie and Opal wouldn’t be caught dead in this house alone with Janet. I’m sure they found somewhere to go.
“I-I….” he didn’t know about the treatment I’d been getting at the college and I wanted it to stay that way so I made Fran swear not to tell him. No one even touched me, so there was no reason for me to go running to my mate.
“Take the load off,” he teased as he kissed my ear and caressed my middle.
“I don’t feel like socializing.”
“You don’t have to talk to anyone at the table, just talk to me. I’ll be right next to you.”
I sighed. “Okay, babe, you win.”
He tapped my bottom playfully. “I knew you’d come around.”

The bar slash restaurant was loud and crowded. I felt a couple of eyes on me as I entered, but Azaire had his arm around my shoulders. I wanted to feel safe and welcome without his presence, but that would take time.
The five of us settled in a booth. It was like a weird double date, Lucas being the odd third wheel. Ross and Megan had a complicated relationship yesterday. She threw his entire wardrobe out of his bedroom window at Shaw Castle, but they were all over each other now.
I wondered how long that would last.
“What do you want, babe?” Azaire asked.
“Uh… water.”
“Don’t be boring, Elaine,” Lucas scoffed.
I still hadn’t taken the pregnancy tests I bought, so I wasn’t taking any chances with alcohol.
“Leave her alone, she’s not a drunk!” Megan spat.
Lucas rolled his eyes and ordered shots of tequila for the whole table.
Azaire chuckled and tugged me closer. “She’s cute when she’s drunk.”
Heat rushed to my face, but I did everything in my power to forget the last time I got shitfaced. That won’t be happening anymore!
Azaire ordered me a ginger ale and a whiskey for him.
“Fran’s living it big as the Alpha’s girlfriend. She wouldn’t even hang out with us,” Ross commented.
“Yeah,” Lucas leaned forward. “Blazer must be really lonely in that big house. Don’t you want to visit him, Elaine? You have the right.”
What’s wrong with him? Everyone knew I wasn’t ready to return to the Black Claw Pack.
“I’ll visit him eventually,” I mumbled.
“She doesn’t have to go anywhere, Lucas,” Azaire snapped.
“I knew we shouldn’t have brought him,” Megan scowled.
Lucas laughed as the waiter placed a tray of shots in the middle of the booth. Lucas leaned back in the booth and let the comments roll off him. The conversation moved on to other things and I couldn’t comment much because it was about Pack business, and I wasn’t well versed in that area. I allowed myself to fade into the background.
“Are you okay?” Azaire whispered in my ear. “You’re not this quiet.”
I sighed. “I’m just stressed and tired.”
He rubbed my thigh and nibbled on my earlobe. “Do you want me to make you feel better?”
“Here?”
“Why not?”
His hand got dangerously close to my vagina and I tensed. There were so many people around us. Some danced or played pool or some drinking game but they were also wolves, and they were bound to notice the smell of sex.
“Relax, Elaine. Smell carefully, the smell of sex is everywhere,” Azaire whispered.
I grimaced. He was right. The scent of sex was mingled with the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke. I’m not going to lie and say it didn’t excite me. I loved it when he was all over me.
When I didn’t protest, he moved under my shirt. His cold hand made contact with my skin and I bit the inside of my cheek.
“Can you be quiet?” he leaned in and asked.
I turned to look into his sexy eyes. Oh, damn him for having power over me.
He smirked mischievously.
Azaire engaged Ross in conversation and I couldn’t believe he could be causal while he fondled my clit through my jeans.
“I think you guys need to do more. People have too much freedom around here,” Lucas frowned.
Azaire pressed on my clit. I distracted myself by watching the pool game.
“What do you know Lucas? You don’t even spend time at the base,” Azaire said, but he was firmly focused on pleasuring me.
“I’ve been spending more time there lately,” Lucas responded.
“You should be in college like Fran and Elaine,” Ross said.
While my mind was a pleasure-filled haze, I wondered why Lucas wasn’t in school when he was around our age.
“I don’t need that. I don’t want to become a biotechnical engineer. I’m not wasting my time with lecturers when I could be doing something more important.”
Azaire suddenly stuck his hand into my pants. I shut my eyes. It got harder to keep a straight face as time went on.
“Do you like that?” he whispered. “Do you want me to stop?”
“You need to,” I responded.
“That’s not a response, Elaine.”
He rubbed harder and faster. He was in control, and he knew it and loved it.
“Yes… or no, Elaine?”
My muscles clenched before Azaire made me orgasm. I let out a subtle breath. I looked into his satisfied eyes.
“Sorry for the wait,” the waiter said, and then placed five plates of nachos on the table.
What time did they order food?
Azaire picked up a cheesy nacho from his plate making sure to stick his fingers in his mouth and lick them clean.
“Delicious,” he said.
I shook my head playfully. That hand was in my pants.
