Chapter 713: Rolando’s Apology

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2025-2-5

Flynn showed no emotion as he twisted Felix Langford’s arm with the ease of snapping a willow branch.
To Flynn, Felix was nothing more than an ant crawling on the ground. Without hesitation, without any trace of mercy, he broke the man’s arm.
His expression was cold, detached-like a god towering above, regarding everyone as mere playthings.
In an instant, the room fell silent, save for Felix’s agonized screams.
Everyone stood frozen, their minds blank.
No one had expected Flynn’s strength to be so overwhelming. Even a Semi-Grandmaster like Jiri Langley had been sent flying with a single slap.
At that moment, the bodyguards stationed outside finally noticed the commotion and stormed into the room.
The sight before them made their hearts sink. Felix’s personal guards, in particular, felt their scalps tingle with fear.
Their young master’s arms had been broken-by a brute, no less.
“Kill him!”
The bodyguards drew their knives and charged forward.
The outcome was predictable.
Flynn, who could send a Semi-Grandmaster flying with ease, was untouchable to this group of guards.
He leapt into the fray, and in less than ten seconds, all thirteen bodyguards were sent hurtling in every direction.
No, not just hurtling-they were flung like droplets of water, scattering across the room, landing with sickening thuds before collapsing, motionless.
Boom!
Panic erupted among the rich heirs and socialites.
This man was a monster! His brutal strikes left the bodyguards unconscious in mere moments.
If Flynn decided to go on a killing spree, none of them would survive.
The thought sent shivers down their spines, terror lacing their faces.
“Jiri, where’s your brother? Call him! Call him now!” Felix screamed, his voice hoarse with fear, his soul practically fleeing his body.
Jiri Langley shook his head with a bitter smile. “He’s training for the military exercises. He’s at Swordgate Peak, consolidating his skills. He won’t come.”
The Edge team had endured three years of frustration. Now, with Flynn’s guidance, they were determined to shine in the upcoming exercises. No one dared slack off; they were all training diligently.
As the team leader, Ethan Langley was even more motivated, given his rivalry with Clayton Robinson.
He had returned home briefly that morning but had gone straight to Swordgate Peak to train. His phone was off to avoid distractions.
Even if Ethan received a call, it would be too late.
Would this madman wait?
Hearing Jiri’s explanation, Felix’s fear deepened, seeping into his very bones.
In that moment, within the confines of the grand hall, Flynn was the ultimate authority, holding everyone’s lives in his hands.
No one could stop him.
“I… I’m sorry! Please, Master, forgive me! I was wrong!” Felix abandoned all dignity, dropping to his knees, repeatedly bowing his head in desperate apology.
The crowd collectively gasped.
One of the four infamous heirs of Pelens, now bowing to a backwater brute from Niarak?
But what choice did he have?
Even Peyton, the Queen of Pelens, furrowed her brows. Her enchanting, aloof face now bore traces of shock.
Felix Langford’s misdeeds were infamous in Pelens.
Yet every time he broke someone’s bones, it was the victim who had to apologize to him.
“I broke your limbs to teach you a lesson,” Flynn said coldly, his face devoid of emotion. “Some people are not to be provoked.”
With that, he stomped down again.
For the pampered heirs present, the sight was utterly horrifying.
The force of Flynn’s stomp shattered Felix’s left knee, leaving it a mangled mess. The granite floor beneath it cracked from the impact.
Felix’s leg twisted grotesquely, the thigh bending upward like a mantis’s claw. Shards of bone pierced through flesh. His leg was beyond repair.
Felix’s screams rang out, only to fade as he fell unconscious from the pain.
“Ah! Murder! He’s killing people!”
Several socialites screamed in terror, their faces pale.
The younger members of the Wong family collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably.
What kind of demon had Scarlet brought into their midst?
Felix’s wealthy and powerful background meant nothing to this man.
Even after Felix apologized, Flynn still crippled him.
A lunatic.
A devil.
A monster devoid of humanity.
As the host of the banquet, Rolando began to panic.
The weak feared the strong, the strong feared the ruthless, and the ruthless feared those who had nothing to lose.
Flynn belonged to the last category.
Family connections meant nothing to him.
And he was unbeatable in combat.
At this point, what could Rolando do?
He had no choice but to swallow his pride and apologize, hoping to defuse the situation.
Rolando poured a glass of wine and approached Flynn. “Master, Mr. Langford offended you. On his behalf, I offer my apologies. Let’s consider this matter settled, shall we?”
Flynn turned to him, smiling faintly. “You’re asking me to spare Felix Langford?”
Rolando’s eyes briefly flickered with anger but were quickly masked. He downed the wine in one gulp, showing Flynn the empty glass as he forced a smile.
“I’ve emptied my glass to apologize on Mr. Langford’s behalf. Please, spare him.”
Flynn chuckled, narrowing his eyes. “And who do you think you are to plead for him?”
With that, Flynn stomped on Felix’s other leg.
Snap!
Felix let out another anguished wail before collapsing, unconscious.
“You!” Rolando could no longer contain his fury. Gritting his teeth, he hissed:
“Felix Langford is the Langford family’s only heir. Do you realize what crippling him means?”
“Consequences?” Flynn sat down leisurely, pouring himself a glass of red wine. He took a sip, his expression calm. “Of course I know. The Langford family will apologize to me.”
What?
You crippled Felix Langford and expect his family to apologize?
This man was insane.
Arrogant beyond belief.
Yes, Flynn was a Grandmaster. But the Langford family could easily summon several Grandmasters if necessary.
Besides, Felix’s grandfather was a former mayor of Pelens. His father held a high-ranking government position.
His mother was the CEO of Emberglow Enterprises, a billion-dollar corporation.
Such a family ranked among the most powerful in Shipmeda State.
And Flynn, a mere warrior, dared to demand their apology?
Ridiculous!
The Langford family would stop at nothing to destroy him.
“Scarlet, do you realize what you’ve done? You brought this madman to Pelens and dragged the Wong family into this mess!” Emily Wong stood, her face livid, pointing at Scarlet in accusation.
Flynn glanced at her, his voice cold.
“I’ve heard that the Wong family had several generals in their ancestry. Over a century ago, one of your ancestors led a thousand warriors to hold off an enemy force of ten thousand.”
“They were besieged for a month and refused to surrender, even when offered high-ranking positions. In the end, he died heroically, his defiance shaking the heavens.”
“And now? How has the Wong family fallen so far? You cower like frightened pups.”
“All this fear-for a mere Langford family?”
“A ‘mere Langford family’?!” Jiri Langley sneered, rubbing his arm as he glared at Flynn.
“What about the Langley family?”
Rolando smirked, pointing at Jiri, who was still covered in wood splinters.
“The Langley family may rank tenth in Pelens, but we have generals in our ranks. Jiri’s uncle is a Major General in the Southern Military District.”
“Of course, there’s no need to trouble his uncle to deal with you. Jiri’s brother is more than enough.”
“His brother is the captain of the Blade Special Forces, a Lieutenant Colonel, and a peak Grandmaster.”
