A flicker of doubt flashed through Flynn’s eyes, but he nodded, letting the matter slide.
“Flynn, tomorrow is a holiday. Grandpa would like to invite you to join us. Would you happen to have some free time?” Harriet asked, her cheeks slightly flushed as she pressed her lips together.
Flynn was taken aback.
This was already the third invitation for the holiday. First Brandon, then Rose, and now Harriet.
“Uh… I’m actually busy tomorrow,” Flynn said with a faint smile.
Rose chuckled. “Mr. Clark will be spending tomorrow at Scarlet’s home, Harriet. Perhaps another day?”
“At Scarlet’s house?” Harriet glanced at Scarlet, her brows knitting slightly. Something seemed to dawn on her, and her expression dimmed.
“Oh, then another day will do. There’s always time,” Harriet said, forcing a smile and nodding.
After bidding farewell, the Koenigsegg headed toward Scarlet’s residence.
Due to the holiday, Scarlet had bought numerous gifts for her elders.
The two decided to pack their gifts and head to Pelens in the afternoon.
“Be honest, just how many girls have invited you to spend the holiday with them?” Scarlet pouted, glaring coldly at Flynn as he drove. Her words carried a clear note of jealousy.
“Callie, Trusova, and Katrina?”
Flynn coughed lightly and grinned. “None of them, actually. Only Colonel Brandon casually mentioned it.”
Scarlet’s comment brought Trusova’s image to Flynn’s mind.
After all, she had been quite open with him.
Those stunning curves had certainly left an impression.
The memory of helping Trusova dry off that day was… vivid, to say the least.
Her snow-white skin, voluptuous figure, breathtaking curves, and unparalleled allure…
The sight and feel of it were unforgettable.
Flynn couldn’t help but wonder what she had been up to lately. She hadn’t messaged him in a while. Maybe they could grab dinner sometime. It wouldn’t hurt, right?
Scarlet noticed the faint smile on Flynn’s lips and the glimmer in his eyes. She punched him hard, her voice both cute and fierce. “Thinking about how beautiful she is, huh? Feeling smug?”
“I honestly can’t figure out what charm an old pervert like you has. You’re average-looking, have a bad temper, yet so many girls like you!”
Flynn shrugged and raised his eyebrows. “What can I say? I’m just irresistible.”
“Yeah, right!” Scarlet rolled her eyes and said with a sigh, “They’re just being polite, nothing else. Don’t overthink it.”
Flynn smirked mischievously. “I’m not overthinking it. I’m just worried someone else might be.”
“Hmph. If you really have what it takes to make all of them fall for you, I’d have nothing to say.” Scarlet pouted and turned her head away.
“Nothing to say?” Flynn raised an eyebrow and chuckled foolishly. “Well, that’s great news!”
Scarlet, hearing this, grew furious. She grabbed Flynn’s arm and twisted it hard, glaring at him as she yelled, “You really want a harem, don’t you? You dog! I’ll strangle you!”
Flynn laughed heartily, pretending to be in pain. “Ouch! That hurts! Okay, okay. I’m going to Pelens with you to meet your family, aren’t I? What more do you want?”
Scarlet snorted lightly, rolling her eyes before letting go of his arm.
The Koenigsegg soon arrived at Scarlet’s apartment complex.
Scarlet had bought plenty of gifts-liquor, cosmetics, health supplements-you name it.
The two-seater Koenigsegg couldn’t possibly fit everything.
Flynn had no choice but to leave the Koenigsegg behind and switch to Molly’s Lexus.
The drive from Niarak to Pelens took about three hours, and the two arrived around five in the evening.
“You still need to shop?” Flynn asked, parking the car outside a shopping district, his eyes filled with surprise.
The trunk was already packed to the brim, almost like they were moving houses. Yet it still wasn’t enough?
Scarlet sighed helplessly. “The Wong family is huge. My grandpa has five brothers, and so does my dad.
“It wouldn’t be right to give to some and not others.”
She had already angered her family by fleeing to Niarak to avoid her arranged marriage. Now that she was bringing Flynn back, she needed to make a good impression and avoid giving them any reason to criticize her.
Flynn sighed and followed her into the store. Luckily, both of them had money to spare. They picked out luxury goods quickly without wasting much time.
Before long, they were loaded with more bags.
Of course, Flynn naturally became the pack mule.
“This is my first time visiting the Wong family. I’ll cover the costs,” Flynn said as he loaded the bags into the back seat.
Scarlet shook her head. “I don’t want your money. Otherwise, people might think I’m with you for your wealth.”
Flynn laughed. “So, you’re with me because you’re captivated by my charm?”
“Get over yourself!” Scarlet rolled her eyes. “I boarded a pirate ship and can’t get off. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be with an old pervert like you.”
Flynn wrapped an arm around Scarlet’s waist, grinning cheekily. “Don’t I have any redeeming qualities?”
“You’re… big and skilled.” Scarlet blinked playfully, her words bold and teasing.
Flynn was momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter. He gave her a light smack on her shapely backside.
“Getting bold, aren’t we?”
“Learned it from you!” Scarlet retorted with a mischievous smile, lightly kicking Flynn’s shin.
As they teased each other, a Cayenne with government plates drove past.
A young man stuck his head out of the driver’s seat, tapping the car door with a hand adorned with a luxury Omega watch. He gave a low whistle, his eyes glued to Scarlet’s perfect figure.
“Hey there, pretty lady! Nice ride. Bet the suspension’s pretty solid, huh?”
The man had fair features, long hair, and a smug, playful expression. His eyes gleamed with lust as they lingered on Scarlet’s curves.
Flynn’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“Forget it,” Scarlet muttered, her face darkening as she pulled Flynn into the car.
Anyone who could afford a car worth over a hundred grand with municipal plates was bound to have connections.
These rich, entitled types thrived on drama. The more you engaged, the more they escalated.
Scarlet didn’t deny that Flynn could handle a few of them, but they had more pressing matters to attend to. She didn’t want unnecessary trouble.
As the Lexus drove away, the young man chuckled and sped off as well.
“That girl’s something else,” he remarked with a smirk.
In the back seat, a woman with striking makeup and fiery red lips frowned. “She looks familiar… almost like Scarlet.”
“Who’s Scarlet?” someone else asked.
The Cayenne had four passengers-two men and two women. The driver, a handsome young man, was Felix Langford.
In the passenger seat sat a burly man with a chiseled face, wearing loose training clothes. His chest muscles bulged, and his arms were thicker than the legs of the woman beside him. He radiated an intimidating presence.
The back seat held two women. One was breathtakingly beautiful, with an icy demeanor and flawless skin. Her cherry-red lips added a seductive touch to her already alluring appearance.
The other woman was also attractive, with fair skin and a generous figure, though her sharp chin betrayed signs of cosmetic surgery.
Judging by their appearances, all four were clearly wealthy and well-connected.
Felix’s expression darkened as he seemed to recognize the name. “Peyton, you don’t mean the Scarlet from the Wong family, do you?”
“Damn it! Wasn’t Holger planning to marry her off to Rolando? What’s she doing with some random guy?”
The burly man in the passenger seat grew visibly tense upon hearing this, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
