George Collins smiled confidently and said, “Elder Noah, with Elder Archie here, I’m very safe. Besides, I can protect myself.”
As he spoke, George Collins patted the Sabertooth beneath him and raised his golden greatsword.
“Alright then,” Elder Noah agreed after glancing at Elder Archie and seeing no objection.
Elder Noah scanned the group of Stormfire Wolves attacking everyone and quickly locked onto one with three Lightning Runes on its forehead.
With a swift movement, Elder Noah’s figure flashed as he charged towards the Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf.
In a few quick steps, Elder Noah reached the Stormfire Wolf. He summoned green spiritual energy into his right hand, forming a thick emerald vine, and lashed it at the Stormfire Wolf.
A deep gash appeared on the Stormfire Wolf’s lightning-streaked blue fur. The injured Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf howled in pain and locked its eyes on Elder Noah. In the next moment, lightning surged around the Stormfire Wolf, transforming into several bolts that shot towards Elder Noah.
Elder Noah quickly retreated, his feet barely touching the ground. The missed lightning bolts blasted deep craters into the ground.
Enraged, the Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf howled and charged at Elder Noah. Seeing that he had successfully angered it, Elder Noah took a fighting stance and lashed out with another whip strike on the wolf’s body.
The Stormfire Wolf grew even more furious, lightning crackling around it as it chased Elder Noah. In its rage, it killed several injured cultivators with its terrifying lightning.
The cultivators behind Elder Noah quickly dodged to avoid becoming collateral damage. Leo noticed this scene and frowned. Given the elder’s strength, killing a Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf should have been easy without needing to retreat while fighting.
Soon, Elder Noah led the Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf towards Leo and Arthur Watts. After killing a lower-level Stormfire Wolf, Arthur Watts saw Elder Noah bringing the wolf their way and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Leo, what’s that old man doing bringing that wolf over here?”
Leo didn’t answer Arthur Watts but instead looked towards George Collins, who was riding on his Sabertooth. Leo noticed George Collins watching them with a smile, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
As their eyes met, George Collins didn’t look away; his smug smile only grew wider. Arthur Watts realized something was wrong and his face darkened. “Leo, that old man is doing this on purpose, isn’t he?”
“George Collins and that old man are trying to set us up,” Leo said coldly.
Leo thought to himself, ‘It seems necessary to give George Collins an unforgettable lesson.’
Elder Noah soon closed the distance to fifty meters from Leo and Arthur Watts, with the enraged Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf in hot pursuit. Elder Noah lashed the wolf again before flashing behind Leo and Arthur Watts.
The Stormfire Wolf’s fury was fully unleashed, its body crackling with lightning as its blue fur stood on end. The wolf opened its massive jaws, gathering brilliant lightning within.
In the next moment, a thick Thunder Pillar shot towards Elder Noah’s direction, with Leo and Arthur Watts caught in between. To hit Elder Noah, the Thunder Pillar would have to obliterate Leo and Arthur Watts first.
George Collins watched from his Sabertooth as if witnessing an exciting spectacle, his eyes wide with anticipation. “Let’s see how you handle an enraged strike from a high-level Demon General beast!” George Collins thought to himself.
“Damn it! That old man is really trying to kill us!” Arthur Watts cursed loudly.
Just as Leo was about to act, Arthur Watts gritted his teeth and stepped in front of him. “Leo, this time, let me protect you!” he declared firmly.
“Earth Bulwark!” Arthur Watts flipped his right hand, producing a talisman. Activating it with spiritual energy, the talisman flashed and vanished, summoning a large earth-colored shield in front of Arthur Watts.
The shield protected both Arthur Watts and Leo. The massive Thunder Pillar struck the shield with a deafening boom. Lightning crackled like silver snakes across the shield’s surface. Though cracks appeared on the shield, it held firm against the Thunder Pillar’s power.
Seeing its enraged attack blocked, the Stormfire Wolf roared and charged forward. Its right paw shattered the shield while its left paw swiped at Leo and Arthur Watts. They both retreated just in time to avoid the giant paw.
Arthur Watts flipped his right hand again, producing another talisman. This time, an orange spiritual sword appeared in his hands. Gripping the sword with both hands, Arthur Watts slashed at the Stormfire Wolf’s head.
The spiritual sword cleaved through the wolf’s head and split its massive body in two. After the strike, the spiritual sword vanished as the wolf’s body fell to the ground in two halves, blood soaking into the earth.
Having successfully slain the Demon General-level Stormfire Wolf, Arthur Watts exhaled in relief. Leo patted Arthur Watts on the shoulder appreciatively. “Arthur, well done.”
“Good thing I had my grandfather’s life-saving talismans; otherwise, we’d be in real danger. Damn that old man and George Collins!” Arthur Watts said angrily.
They turned to face Elder Noah behind them. Elder Noah’s expression remained indifferent as if nothing had happened. Then he flashed towards George Collins’ direction.
As they say, the eyes of the masses are sharp; many cultivators had witnessed Elder Noah’s actions and felt indignant. Had they known this would happen, they wouldn’t have answered the call to come here.
On his Sabertooth, George Collins’ face turned sour as his plan failed. “Lord George, I didn’t expect that fat man to have both defensive and offensive talismans,” Elder Noah said to George Collins.
“Elder Noah, you’ve worked hard. Hmph! I refuse to believe this won’t work. Elder Archie, it’s your turn!” George Collins said sternly as he looked at Elder Archie.
