“Huh?”
“So, what do you want?”
“I want to file a complaint against you!”
“Is that so? Then go ahead! And while you’re at it, tell Mr. King that once you leave my office later, if you dare to step in here again without permission, I will never want this office again. Please convey my message!”
Camille said indifferently, her tone as calm as ever, showing no signs of emotion. After speaking, she looked at Jennie calmly, without feeling that anything was wrong.
It was as if she was just informing Jennie that they would be leaving work early tonight.
Jennie was stunned for a moment and couldn’t find words to respond.
Camille didn’t pay any attention to her anymore. She just glanced coldly at her, with eyes as cold as ice.
As for the others, of course, they all sided with Camille. After all, they were a team, and Jennie’s repeated provocations against them would not earn her any goodwill.
Jennie realized that she couldn’t win against them and was too angry to speak.
Sienna sneered and said, “I hinted that you should think before speaking, but you can’t control your mouth, can you? Now you’ve angered her, haven’t you? Tsk, you really can’t see the situation clearly!”
“Huh, just wait and see. Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because someone is backing you up. This is working hours, and what you did is against the rules here. Do you think you’re in the right? If it weren’t for Ayan, do you think you could sit here and talk to me?”
Jennie couldn’t hold back her anger and spoke out of turn.
Sienna shook her head, sighing, “She still won’t listen to good advice, acting without thinking. How foolish.”
After saying this, everyone ignored Jennie completely.
They treated her as if she were transparent.
Jennie stomped her foot in frustration and left in great annoyance.
As soon as she left, Lily looked at Camille with a worried expression and said, “Camille, do you think she will go to Mr. King and badmouth us?”
“It doesn’t matter! Whether I give her face or not, she won’t say anything good anyway. So why bother giving her any face? It’s better not to be aggrieved.” Camille smiled faintly, showing no concern. After all, she had known Jennie for many years and understood what kind of person she was.
Sienna chimed in, “Don’t worry about it. That’s just the way she is. If we don’t teach her a lesson, she will think we would be afraid of her!”
Lily nodded slightly. “It’s good as long as nothing happens. I just feel that she’s too arrogant. I’m worried that we might suffer.”
“It’s fine. No matter what happens, we’ll handle it!”
“Can you handle it? Just don’t run away at the critical moment.” Camille hinted at something, and Sienna immediately stopped talking.
Both of them guessed correctly that Jennie would not let things go so easily. She went straight to Mario and exaggerated the situation.
Then Mario asked her, “Why are you keeping an eye on them every day?”
Jennie was momentarily stunned and didn’t understand what he meant.
Mario said indifferently, “If you’re bored, organize these files instead of doing meaningless things every day.”
Mario’s attitude was cold and his words lacked any warmth. He glanced coldly at Jennie with an expressionless face and added with a cold tone, “I have warned you not to provoke Camille. Why didn’t you listen? Do you think I have nothing better to do than deal with you?”
Jennie hesitated for a moment and then retorted, “Mario!”
“It’s work hours now, so please call me Mr. King!!” Mario replied, his displeasure evident.
Jennie paused for a moment, then softly said, “Mr. King…”
She didn’t dare to meet Mario’s gaze directly and could speak in a low voice, “Mr. King, am I doing something wrong? It’s them who don’t follow the rules.”
“Do you think you’re the leader of a department?” Mario laughed indifferently before continuing, “Technically speaking, Camille’s team is not under my jurisdiction. She is not my employee. She and I are in a collaborative relationship for this project, so don’t try to show off because of your work interactions with her. If you keep provoking her, you’re digging your own grave.”
After Mario finished speaking, his face remained expressionless.
His face became even colder and sourer, making Jennie frustrated.
But the fact was that she had no way out.
Mario was in charge of this project, so why couldn’t he manage an architect?
Some speculations emerged in her mind, so she couldn’t help but ask, “Mario, are you still not over Sienna? Is it because Camille has a good relationship with Sienna that you side with her too?”
Jennie had no reservations at all and directly spoke her mind.
Her words made Mario’s expression even more icy and indifferent as he asked, “Do you know what you’re saying?”
Jennie remained silent. Of course, she knew what she was saying.
Mario sneered, “So you came to Hance City planning to manage my affairs? Is that how your father taught you?”
He intended to give her a menial position just to keep her occupied and to appease the King family. If Jennie didn’t cause any trouble, he could easily overlook her minor antics. But now he realized he had misjudged her.
He overestimated Jennie’s capability and underestimated his own patience.
He called his secretary over and coldly instructed, “Contact the King family and have them take her away. And tell them, don’t blame me for being harsh if they don’t.”
Jennie, of course, refused to leave like that. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate embarrassment?
“No way!” she protested.
“You can’t treat me like this. I’m part of the King family. This project belongs to King Group, and I have a stake in it. You can’t do this to me.”
Jennie was incredibly agitated. She had never been good at hiding her emotions. Her feelings were always written all over her face. She had suffered for her bad temper throughout her life, but she still hadn’t learned her lesson-at least not yet. Otherwise, this scene wouldn’t be unfolding before them.
In contrast to Jennie’s emotional turmoil, Mario remained calm. He looked at her, who was nearly on the verge of a breakdown, and simply smiled, “So what? I gave you a chance, but you didn’t appreciate it. Now leave this place and go back to Flento City. I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. Otherwise, I’ll let Camille handle you. If I hand you over to Camille, you won’t end well!”
