“What?”
Aiden Enyart’s face was filled with shock upon hearing those words.
He could never have imagined that Chris had once killed a large number of Super Warriors. Aiden had seen the strength of these Super Warriors firsthand. For Chris to have defeated them, it was a testament to how terrifyingly powerful Chris was.
Aiden Enyart asked excitedly, “Mr. Shelby, are you saying there’s a chance I can rescue those brothers of mine?”
Chris sighed softly and shook his head. “I’m afraid it’s too late. So much time has passed, and your brothers have likely already been turned into Super Warriors.”
Harold, who was standing nearby, couldn’t understand a word of what Chris and Aiden Enyart were discussing.
Super Warriors?
Hall of Death?
The Wizards?
It all felt like something far removed from his reality.
Seeing the look of despondency on Aiden Enyart’s face, Chris said, “Aiden Enyart, don’t worry. No matter what, I won’t let Daniel Williams’s schemes succeed.”

Meanwhile, at Chester Group.
After returning, Esther stayed in the CEO’s office of Chester Group.
Over the past year, Juliette had been the one managing Chester Group on Esther’s behalf.
Juliette’s abilities were indeed exceptional, and under her care, Chester Group had been flourishing and running like a well-oiled machine.
Esther glanced at her watch, frowning as she muttered to herself, “It’s almost the end of the workday, and Chris still hasn’t come to pick me up.”
She considered calling Chris but decided instead to call the security department, as she’d heard Chris had gone out to eat with Harold.
“Madam, what can I do for you?”
The voice on the other end of the line was respectful, coming from one of the security guards.
Esther said, “Have Harold answer the phone.”
The guard replied, “Madam, the captain hasn’t returned yet.”
Esther’s brows furrowed at this response.
Chris and Harold had gone out for a meal together. Why hadn’t they returned? A faint sense of worry crept into her heart.
However, she quickly shook her head. With Chris’s strength and status, who in the entire East Coast could possibly be a match for him?
Just as Esther was about to call Chris herself, the office door swung open.
Chris walked in, reeking of alcohol.
Esther quickly asked, “Have you been drinking?”
Chris had indeed had a few drinks after running into Aiden Enyart.
Slumping onto the sofa, Chris replied, “Yeah, I had a little to drink while eating with Harold today.”
As he looked up, he saw Esther walking toward him. For a moment, the sight before him filled his mind with a strange and unspoken desire.
Without hesitation, Chris reached out and pulled Esther into his arms.
Esther immediately protested, blushing, “Honey, what are you doing? This is the office! What if someone sees us?”
Chris smirked mischievously. “This is the CEO’s office. Who would dare come in? Besides, I’ve been holding back for too long recently. It’s time we had an in-depth discussion on the science of life.”
Before she could respond, Chris’s hands began to wander, and Esther’s face turned redder by the second.
Just as Chris was about to take things further, the office door suddenly swung open.
“What are you two doing…?”
Juliette walked in, her eyes widening in shock.
Seeing Juliette, Esther quickly stood up, flustered.
Chris looked frustrated. He had assumed no one would come into the CEO’s office unannounced, but he had overlooked one key person: Juliette.
As the vice president of Chester Group and someone who shared a close relationship with Esther, Juliette didn’t need to announce herself before entering the office.
Of all times, she had to show up at this exact moment.
Esther shot Chris a fierce glare, blaming him for the awkward situation.
Chris, helpless, asked, “Juliette, is there something you need?”
“Hmph!” Juliette snorted lightly. “Chris, someone is here to see you.”
“See me?” Chris was taken aback. “Who is it?”
Juliette shrugged. “I don’t know. The security guard said someone is here for you. I didn’t go out to look. You’ll have to check for yourself.”
“Alright, I’ll go take a look.”
As Chris got up to leave, Juliette added, “By the way, your shirt isn’t buttoned properly.”
Chris glanced down and realized his shirt was indeed askew. Hastily fixing it, he left the office.
After Chris was gone, Juliette turned to Esther and teased, “Esther, next time you and Chris decide to do something like that in the office, give me a heads-up so I don’t walk in on you.”
Esther’s face flushed with embarrassment. She wished she could crawl into a hole and disappear.
Glaring at Juliette, she retorted, “Stop spouting nonsense! Chris and I were just having a normal discussion about life sciences.”
Juliette rolled her eyes in response.

Chris arrived at the company’s entrance.
He approached one of the security guards and asked, “Who’s here to see me?”
The guard looked at Chris with admiration. “Mr. Shelby, you’re incredible! You went out drinking with the captain, and while he came back completely wasted, you’re completely fine.”
Everyone at Chester Group knew by now that Chris was the real power behind the company.
Furthermore, as the King of the East Coast, Chris’s identity was no longer a secret here.
The guard gazed at Chris with utmost respect. When Chris had returned earlier, Harold had been so drunk that he couldn’t even stand.
For someone like Chris, however, a few dozen bottles of beer were nothing. His drinking capacity was legendary, practically undefeatable.
Chris waved his hand, cutting the guard off. “Enough flattery. Who’s here to see me?”
The guard pointed toward the door. “Mr. Shelby, it’s that woman over there.”
Chris looked up and saw a stunningly beautiful woman standing at the entrance.
It was none other than Lindsay Windson.
Chris walked over, surprised. “Lindsay, what are you doing here?”
The last time Chris left Riverton, Lindsay had stayed behind. He hadn’t expected her to show up at the East Coast so soon after his return.
Lindsay bit her lip and said, “Mr. Shelby, I came to ask if you have some time in the near future. Could you accompany me to a place?”
“Huh?”
Chris was momentarily stunned.
After a pause, he said with some hesitation, “Lindsay, I might not have time in the coming days.”
