Chris looked at Harold and laughed. “Harold, I didn’t expect you to become even stronger than before. Come on, let me treat you to a meal.”
The two stepped out and found a roadside food stall. They ordered a few dishes and bottles of beer. As the drinks flowed, laughter echoed between them. Before long, the bottles were empty.
“Boss, bring us a few more bottles!” Chris called out.
The owner quickly brought more drinks.
At that moment, a beggar approached, his voice trembling. “Boss, have mercy. I haven’t eaten in two days.”
The owner snapped impatiently, “Get lost! You dirty beggar, don’t ruin my business!”
Chris turned toward the voice and froze, his eyes widening in disbelief.
“Aiden Enyart? Is that you?” he shouted, stunned.
The beggar flinched at the name, his entire body trembling. Slowly, the man turned to face Chris, and his eyes filled with emotion.
Thud!
The beggar dropped to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably. “Mr. Shelby, I’ve finally found you!”
Chris, still shocked, hurriedly helped him up. “Aiden Enyart? You’re the Hall Master of the Wizards. What happened to you? Why are you here looking like this?”
With tears streaming down his face, Aiden Enyart began to recount his harrowing tale.
It all started the year before when Chris went to Star Continent, crushing the Lee family, the ruling power there. Afterward, Aiden, as the Wizards’ Hall Master, rose to become the uncontested ruler of the region.
But his reign was short-lived. Daniel Williams arrived at Star Continent with his forces, launching a merciless attack on the Wizards. Aiden’s men were powerless against the assault.
“Mr. Shelby,” Aiden said, his voice trembling. “Daniel Williams brought with him a horde of monsters. They were neither fully human nor beast-just savage creatures with incredible strength. My men couldn’t stand a chance against them.”
Aiden’s voice cracked as he continued. “The Wizards were wiped out. Daniel Williams took over Star Continent, turning it into a massive experimental base for creating those monsters. I barely escaped with my life. After endless struggles, I made my way here to find you. But I ran out of money and ended up as a beggar, begging my way to East Coast. My brothers… they were slaughtered, and… and…”
Breaking down into sobs, Aiden clutched his chest in visible agony.
Chris’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected Daniel Williams to extend his reach to Star Continent, transforming it into a base for developing monstrous Super Warriors.
“It seems Daniel Williams is more ambitious than I thought,” Chris muttered. “If his plans succeed, he’ll have an army of Super Warriors to conquer Amerosia.”
Aiden’s voice trembled as he continued. “The most devastating part is that Daniel Williams captured the woman I love. He took her along with many of my brothers. I-” Aiden’s voice broke again. “I was the Hall Master of the Wizards, and now I’ve fallen to this. I couldn’t save my brothers or the woman I love. This pain… it’s unbearable.”
Chris’s gaze sharpened. “Aiden, these monsters you’re talking about-are they humans fused with beasts? Do they lose their humanity, becoming mindless killers driven only by the instinct to slaughter?”
Aiden stared at Chris in shock. “Mr. Shelby, how do you know that? Have you encountered them before?”
Chris nodded grimly. “It’s a long story, but yes, I’ve seen those creatures before. Tell me-did you discover any way to kill them?”
Aiden hesitated, then replied, “I once managed to kill one. When I cut off its head, it died instantly. Mr. Shelby, does that mean…”
Chris nodded. “Exactly. Their weakness is their heads. These creatures, called Super Warriors, are Daniel Williams’s creations. Decapitation is the only way to kill them.”
Hearing this, Aiden’s face lit up with hope. “Mr. Shelby, how do you know all this?”
Chris explained, “I once led an attack on Daniel Williams’s Hall of Valerian headquarters. There, I encountered a large number of Super Warriors. My men and I wiped them out and destroyed the headquarters. But it seems Daniel didn’t abandon his experiments. Instead, he moved them to other locations-Star Continent being one of them.”
