Ingrid smiled, not believing a word. “Agnes, have you been reading too many comics? Your dreams are even more unrealistic than mine! You’re talking about a flash marriage! You got the certificate, so what engagement are you talking about tomorrow? Do you think I would believe you?”
“Why don’t you believe me?” Agnes couldn’t understand; she was telling the truth.
Ingrid replied, “A calm and wise man like Mr. Fritz, how could he possibly have a flash marriage? And with you? Flash marriages are for young people seeking excitement! It’s a sign of immaturity!”
Agnes was speechless, thinking this girl must be crazy. No matter what she said, Ingrid wouldn’t listen. Only by seeing the facts tomorrow would she wake up completely.
So, Agnes chose silence and listened to Ingrid gush about how excellent, charming, and attractive her boss was. She described his academic research and his impressive achievements internationally with pride in her eyes, as if introducing her most outstanding boyfriend to her sister.
It seemed Ingrid’s feelings for Tom were not shallow. Perhaps there was some obsession too?
Agnes understood this feeling well. When you like someone, you want to know everything about them and search for all kinds of information online. Agnes just listened without saying much, feeling a bit sad and complicated because she knew that in Ingrid’s current infatuated state, nothing would make a difference. Ingrid didn’t believe in Cinderella stories but still hoped for such a miracle in her own life.
The next morning, at the famous Fritz Manor in Arkpool City, the sight of purple was breathtakingly beautiful. A luxurious convoy set out early to pick up two elders from the Campell family, the beautifully dressed Agnes, and all their relatives. Every detail was perfect, every courtesy observed meticulously with dozens of servants and bodyguards deployed.
Everyone in the Campell family felt reassured and envious of how much the Fritz family valued Agnes. Spencer and Summer also attended.
“Ingrid, our Agnes is marrying into an extraordinary family,” said her aunt with a smile in the luxury car.
“Mom,” Ingrid wasn’t envious at all. “You can’t judge by the convoy; wedding cars can be rented.”
“But I heard she’s marrying well. Your uncle and aunt didn’t say much,” her mother started urging her again. “Ingrid, when are you going to find a boyfriend? You’ve been out of school for four or five years.”
“I’ll find you a rich son-in-law, but it can’t be rushed,” Ingrid smiled confidently. Yes, she still believed in Cinderella stories.
The convoy of luxury cars drove into Fritz Manor. The grand courtyard came into view with a large villa shining under the sun. The Campell family relatives were amazed by the impressive scene even before getting out of the cars.
As they stepped out into the soft breeze carrying the scent of roses, it was truly refreshing. Next to the dreamy purple stage were various purple decorations-balloons, ribbons, flowers-all beautifully arranged. Even the chairs among hundreds of guest seats were draped in light purple veils fluttering gracefully in the wind.
Under the host’s direction, Tom in his suit and Agnes in her red dress stood hand in hand on stage, making their vows.
