Ingrid’s mind once again conjured up the image of that handsome figure, and she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s a big company, a family business, and it’s doing quite well.” This job had always been her pride, given her average education but exceptional abilities and a bit of good luck.
“That’s great,” Agnes said while helping her make dumplings. “A big company has much better prospects, and it provides security in all aspects.”
But none of this mattered to Ingrid. What she cared about was that Mr. Fritz was still single, and his constant charm often left her utterly captivated.
Agnes didn’t ask much, but Ingrid couldn’t help sharing, “I work at Fritz Group. Have you heard of this company?”
Agnes’s chest tightened as she looked up at her, doubting her ears. Fritz Group? CEO? Single?
Seeing the infatuated smile on Ingrid’s face, Agnes tentatively asked, “Is your CEO named Tom Fritz?”
Ingrid looked up at her, pausing her dumpling-making. “How do you know? Aren’t you at Marsh Group? How do you even know my CEO’s name?”
“So… he really is Tom Fritz?” Agnes felt a sudden complexity in her emotions.
Ingrid’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She asked eagerly, “Have you met him too? Does he fit your aesthetic? Isn’t he incredibly charming? I’m telling you, if you get to know him, you’ll definitely fall in love with him!”
“Ingrid,” Agnes said calmly, though she was a bit flustered. “Not only have I met him, but our names are also on the same document.”
Agnes didn’t want to hurt her pride, so she spoke cautiously. She just wanted Ingrid to be mentally prepared since she was invited to the engagement ceremony tomorrow.
“What do you mean by the same document? Are you joking?” Ingrid didn’t think deeply about it and didn’t believe it at all.
Agnes truly loved Mr. Kitten; how could she let another woman covet him?
So she stated calmly, “He is my husband.”
Ingrid was stunned for just a second before bursting into laughter.
Agnes was bewildered by her reaction, her innocent face filled with confusion.
Ingrid proudly said, “How about it? Isn’t being his fan more promising than being a celebrity’s fan? I’m telling you, being his fan is the right choice! Celebrities are just personas; eventually, they’ll fall from grace!”
Now it was Agnes’s turn to be stunned. She didn’t believe it?
When Ingrid mentioned Tom, her eyes sparkled with admiration and affection.
Ingrid continued proudly, “But our CEO is different. He’s steady and wise, not just a top student but also a chemistry professor and a great scientist! He’s visible and… tangible.” She thought of the brief physical contact they had in the elevator.
Agnes was surprised-tangible?
But she also understood that Ingrid genuinely liked Tom and wasn’t just idolizing him.
Working at Fritz Group allowed her to see Tom and be attracted by his charm, which was entirely normal.
Moreover, Agnes knew that with Tom’s charisma, Ingrid wouldn’t be the only woman who liked him.
She didn’t care about others, but for Ingrid, Agnes felt it necessary to give her a heads-up since she’d be attending the engagement party tomorrow.
If someone invests too much emotion in another person and suddenly sees them marrying someone else, it could be devastating. They might lose control or do something extreme.
To ensure the engagement ceremony went smoothly tomorrow, Agnes thought for a moment before speaking seriously and sincerely. “Ingrid, I need to tell you something.” She took a deep breath. “Tom and I are already married.”
