Chapter 2528: His Thoughtfulness

Agnes looked at them with a bit of surprise, then at the boxes and bags in their hands. Tom hadn’t called her in advance. But standing at the door were two girls who looked familiar, their faces adorned with warm, congratulatory smiles.
“Please come in,” Agnes said, opening the door to let them in.
“Miss Campell, this dress is custom-made to your measurements. It’s a white gauze dress, quite beautiful but not as elaborate as a wedding gown,” one of the girls said, handing her a bag. “It won’t be too extravagant for getting your marriage certificate. Would you like to try it on now? We can do your makeup afterward.”
“And this is breakfast. You can eat first if you’d like; there’s still time,” the other girl said, handing over a small bag. “Mr. Fritz prepared it especially for you.”
Agnes took the bag and thanked them just as her phone rang. Seeing it was Tom calling, she quickly set the bag down and answered, “Hello.”
“Good morning,” Tom’s gentle voice came through. “Did you sleep well last night?” His first words were full of concern.
“Yes,” Agnes replied, feeling sweet inside upon hearing his voice so early in the morning.
She glanced at the two girls who had just entered and whispered, “Did you arrange for someone to bring me a dress?”
“Yes,” Tom said. “It was all so rushed; I figured you wouldn’t have time to prepare these things. Young people these days value ceremony, and getting the certificate is a once-in-a-lifetime event.”
Agnes was touched by his thoughtfulness. “Thank you so much.”
“Have your breakfast first; there’s still time. The girls will take you to the city hall afterward.”
“Okay. What are you doing now?” Agnes asked him. “Are you up yet?”
“I’m up and about to have breakfast with Grandma. We’ll leave right after.”
“Alright,” Agnes said sweetly. “See you later then.”
“See you later, bye.”
“Bye~”
After ending the call, Agnes thanked the two girls again. “Have you had breakfast yet?”
“We have,” they replied, opening their boxes to prepare. “Take your time; no rush.”
“Okay.” Agnes ate her breakfast and then changed into the white dress.
The dress was beautiful-a knee-length gauze dress that wasn’t cumbersome or overly extravagant, perfectly wearable and tailored to her size. The waist design accentuated her figure, and the fabric had a slight shimmer.
Agnes sat down in a chair as one of the girls, who was a makeup artist, began doing her makeup.
The process was simple since it was just a basic everyday look, but the result was stunning.
Agnes put on a pair of white pearl earrings and gazed at herself in the mirror. Maybe it was because she was in such a good mood today, but she felt she looked different from usual-truly beautiful.
“It’s done, Miss Campell. The timing is perfect,” one girl said to her. “If we leave now, we’ll arrive just before eight o’clock.”
“Thank you both so much for today.” Agnes stood up to grab her bag containing her documents and ID.
The two girls quickly packed up their makeup kits and led Agnes outside. After getting downstairs, they drove her to the city hall.
Sitting in the back seat of the car, Agnes happily watched the scenery pass by outside the window. Never before had she felt her life was so meaningful.
To be deeply loved by the man she deeply loved-what a wonderful thing that was.
