Chapter 2448: Considered Good News

Book:Mr. Marsh's Twins Published:2025-2-5

Under Jeffery’s firm persuasion, Lisa had to leave. There was no point in staying any longer. After Tom Fritz went upstairs, he quickly found the necessary documents, took them in hand, and then took out his phone. He originally planned to text Agnes, but a work call came in. He answered the call as he walked downstairs.
The call lasted half an hour, from the apartment to the research institute, so after hanging up, he started looking up information on his phone and was too busy to text Agnes. Even if he had sent a message, he wouldn’t have seen her reply. So, he simply didn’t send it.
Arkpool City, Russell family.
Finnley and Mya’s child was almost a year old and learning to walk. The whole family was delighted, and the child had become the center of attention. Today, Mya’s mother came over, and Shirley was especially close with the child.
“Come here, let Grandma hold you!” Shirley was in high spirits, wearing a red dress and looking much better than when Clarence first went to prison.
“Mom, that dress looks great on you.”
“Right? I like red too.” Shirley held the baby and said to Mya, “We received accurate news today that your father can have his sentence reduced due to good behavior in prison.”
“When can he come out? How many years will be reduced?” Mya’s long, curly eyelashes fluttered as she asked with some anticipation.
“He can be out by the end of the year.”
Mya was shocked by this answer. “So soon?”
“Mr. Marsh helped a bit,” her mother replied. “He gathered some of your father’s achievements while in office, and since the case involved many aspects, your father wasn’t held primarily responsible.”
In short, Ivan definitely helped.
“That’s great.” Mya felt grateful towards him. “He’s very busy but also very helpful; he always assists with matters within our circle when he can.”
“He’s good friends with Finnley; Finnley probably mentioned it to him more than once. Gathering materials is a laborious process, and much of it is confidential.”
“Yes.” Mya asked her again, “Then you won’t be so lonely anymore and can enjoy your later years with Dad.”
“Yes, I’m planning to get a house in the suburbs where I can plant flowers and grass. Even after your father is released, it’s not suitable for him to show up publicly; we should keep a low profile to enjoy our later years peacefully.”
Mya agreed with her mother’s view. “Then pick a place nearby so we can visit often.”
“Yes, that’s possible.”
Shirley had already started looking for a place with good scenery and feng shui close to her daughter. She aimed to have the house ready before Clarence returned.
Emerald Bay.
Jennifer, who was in her postpartum period, wasn’t lying down all day. She rarely went downstairs for fresh air but kept herself busy with things she wanted to do. Besides taking care of the baby, she spent time painting and writing in her study.
She believed that a woman is the feng shui of the home; the hostess’s energy is crucial. She always insisted on cultivating herself both inside and out.
That day, Ivan had just returned from a trip to the company and eagerly went upstairs to find her.
“Are you in the study?”
Jennifer looked up at him while holding a paintbrush. “Yes, why are you back so soon?”
“I came back after finishing work and brought some good news for you.” Ivan then told her about Clarence being released before the end of the year.
“Mya must be thrilled?” Jennifer was also quite happy.
“I’ve informed Finnley about it; Mrs. Saunders knows too.” Ivan had put considerable effort into this matter.
