Billy turned to look at the battle circle of Sanaa and the other two.
Purple Spirit and Dark Puppet had almost finished their opponents. Although their enemies were strong, they were no match for Purple Spirit and Dark Puppet. In a short time, only five or six people were left standing in mid-air; the rest had perished.
Meanwhile, after exchanging blows, Sanaa and Death Sovereign each flew back twenty or thirty kilometers. Judging by their conditions, Sanaa had the upper hand. Her combat power was comparable to a half-step Entering God Realm opponent, while Death Sovereign had just broken through to Half-Step Entering God Realm.
“That’s all!” Death Sovereign stabilized himself, a serious expression on his face, then turned and fled into the void.
Sanaa watched him leave but did not pursue.
At the same time, Earth Demo frowned slightly and also fled. He knew that staying would mean certain death.
“Stay!” Billy’s voice reached Earth Demo’s ears. As he spoke, a Slaughter Sky attack tore through the void. Earth Demo dodged quickly, but the shockwave still sent him flying seven or eight kilometers.
Before he could stabilize himself, Dark Puppet rushed at him. With a loud crash, Earth Demo was sent flying again, his meridians shattered, and his body fell from the sky. His soul tried to escape but was quickly absorbed by Dark Puppet.
Half-Step God Realm souls were a great supplement!
The remaining opponents lost all will to fight and fled in all directions.
“Are you okay?” Sanaa asked as she approached Billy.
“I’m fine!” Billy smiled and shook his head.
“You’ve improved so fast that even Half-Step God Realm beings are no match for you!” Sanaa exclaimed. “I might not be able to beat you now!”
“Miss Sanaa, you’re too kind!” Billy smiled again. He suspected that Sanaa had other hidden strengths and that he might not win in a life-and-death battle with her.
“I’m just stating the fact!” Sanaa replied. “Let’s go check out their treasure vault. Death Sovereign is probably getting reinforcements.”
With that, she headed towards the palace, and Billy followed closely. Purple Spirit and Dark Puppet entered the Nine Dragons Cauldron Space.
Soon, they landed in front of the palace. Up close, the treasure vault was impressively large.
Billy released his spiritual power to scan the entire treasure vault but sensed no fluctuations.
They entered and looked around. There were many treasures inside. Billy wanted to see if there was anything worth taking, but Sanaa took action directly, having Billy store everything in his storage ring.
“Isn’t the Heaven Book here?” Billy asked after a while.
“The Heaven Book won’t be that easy to find!” Sanaa replied. “Let’s check the top floor and find the Abyssal Clan High Priest first!”
“Okay!” Billy nodded.
They reached the top floor of the treasure vault and found an empty hall except for a few pillars.
They checked several rooms, finding only simple furniture and no other items.
Using their spiritual power to scan again, they still sensed nothing.
“Can you sense any formation lines?” Sanaa asked Billy.
“I’ll try!” Billy expanded his spiritual power.
After a few minutes, he retracted his spiritual power and said, “There is indeed a formation-a High-Tier Illusion Array.”
“Can you break it?” Sanaa asked.
“I can try!” Billy took out a small bottle of soul water and drank it before sitting down to analyze the formation lines.
Soul water was beneficial; it extended the duration of spiritual power use and slightly enhanced its level.
About two quarters of an hour later, Billy stood up.
“How is it?” Sanaa asked.
“I found it!” Billy pointed to the ceiling. “The formation eye is up there!”
“Then let’s hurry!” Sanaa urged.
Billy took out his fury blade from his storage ring and slashed at the ceiling. The next moment, a strong aura spread from the center of the hall, forcing Billy and Sanaa back several steps.
A ripple appeared in the center of the hall, revealing a semi-transparent cube about twenty or thirty meters in size. Inside sat an old man in black with white hair and beard.
“What will it take for you to let me out?” The old man opened his eyes and looked at Billy and Sanaa.
“Are you the Abyssal Clan High Priest?” Billy asked.
“Hmm?” The old man named Nathanael Lowery was puzzled. “You’re not from the Nightshade Clan?”
“Do you want to get out?” Sanaa asked. “Let’s make a deal. Tell us where the Heaven Book is, and we’ll let you out!”
“Hmm?” Nathanael Lowery was puzzled again. “You’re really not from the Nightshade Clan? Then how did you find this Illusion Array?”
“Stop wasting time. Just answer yes or no!” Sanaa demanded.
“Okay!” Nathanael Lowery agreed after some thought. “If you let me out, the Heaven Book is yours.”
“Tell us where the Heaven Book is first!” Sanaa insisted.
“It’s on me!” Nathanael Lowery took out a scroll from his storage ring and displayed it. “This is the Heaven Book!”
“Trying to fool us with a fake Heaven Book? Are you a fool or do you think we are?” Sanaa retorted. “If Nightshade Clan trapped you here, they wouldn’t let you have the real Heaven Book!”
“I’m not lying! This is the Heaven Book I exchanged with a fake one!” Nathanael Lowery replied. “Except for the three Death Sovereigns and Ghost King of Nightshade Clan, no one else has studied the Heaven Book enough to tell if it’s real.”
“And since the three Death Sovereigns haven’t awakened yet, they don’t know I’ve swapped it.”
He seemed unaware that Death Sovereigns and Earth Demo had already awakened.
“How long have you been trapped here?” Billy asked.
“A long time. I can’t remember exactly!” Nathanael Lowery replied.
“Can you tell if it’s real?” Sanaa asked Billy.
“There’s a barrier blocking it; I can’t tell,” Billy shook his head.
To confirm if it was real, they needed to see if their soul sense could enter the Tower of Heaven Book through it. But with Nathanael Lowery trapped in the formation barrier, their soul sense couldn’t reach it…
